Weekend is almost over

It is nearly 4:30 Sunday afternoon. Mom is downstairs making dinner. She is going to make a variation of stuffed cabbage. She hasn’t been home long from the wedding. Actually the wedding didn’t take all that long. They were on the beach in Fort Trumbull section of Milford. Mom went to Target to get a few things.

My day has been pretty good although I did wake up early but also had a slight headache. I had some breakfast and took some ibuprofen and it worked so I had no problems with that. Although though out the day I still have that weird feeling in my stomach as though I have been kicked or something. It doesn’t feel like hunger pains I can still feel those but it goes away for awhile and then pops up again. I am going to have to keep an eye on that.

I started getting ready for bingo around 8:30 after deciding to lie across the bed for a bit. I was out the door by 9 and to the nursing home by 9:15. I was serving coffee and chatting and we started bingo a little after 10. Jillian came limping in she sprained her ankle during soccer earlier in the week. We had a good hour of fun. After bingo I headed to St Agnes for church.

I was quite surprised to find attendance was low. Usually it is more filled then usual. We found out that over the next few weeks the priests will be discussing changes within the liturgy and mass. I asked Mom about it later and she said it’s been in the news for a long time. She encouraged me to search it out. So I did. First place I went to was here. In The Northwest Indiana Newspaper that covers the change in some of the prayers and greetings. The changes are causing concern right across the country. I have perused them quickly and find really nothing wrong with them. According to this article it is a renewal of faith. This article was from March of this year.

The afternoon temperatures were in the 80’s. I changed my sweater to a sweat shirt. I did put my ceiling fan on and it’s cranked high. Now that the sun is setting (at 5:55 pm) I probably could turn it off.

Mom did some ironing and has given me strict instructions NOT to sit on the bed where her curtains for the bedroom and bathroom currently rest. She spent a lot of time ironing them. So can you guess where I have been spending my time watching TV? If you said the Living Room and Sun Room then pat yourselves on the back.

I did spend some time with Lilly today. She was so cute and so loveable. Her “Dad” suggested I start humming. Apparently she likes that. I got so silly that I couldn’t help but laugh.

I heard from Liz a couple of times today. This morning she sent a picture of a giraffe named Audrey. Audrey liked to give kisses. Later on in the afternoon she sent some of the wedding. They were beautiful.

Olga posted picture of her wedding band and diamond. It was the coolest thing. She was relaxing in bed and took a picture of it. Later on in the day Lisa took some pictures as well and they can be found on her Facebook page.

I finally called Dave to RSVP to his Costume party for the end of this month. I got the invitation yesterday but didn’t see it until this morning. He must be out of town because I had to leave a message. When I talked to Rose about it she said she wasn’t dressing up in Costume. Maybe have a t-shirt with jeans.

I got a call from Nancy H tonight asking me if I would babysit her pups at Christmas time. I told her I would love to. It will be from the 22nd to New Years Day. They are going to be with her parents for the Holiday

Well I think I am going to get into my pajamas and watch some more NCIS.

Have a great night.

One Day Closer to the Weekend

Today was awesome. I did wake up early but stayed in bed a little longer than I wanted to but that is okay. I got the clothes out of the dryer from last night and watched TV for a bit. I got ready for work and then Mom got up for her meeting at Bridges.

The drive to work was great (hardly anyone on the roads or in the parking garage). The crunch was on to get as much AR in as possible for not only Month end but fiscal year end. I think we did pretty darn well. I was concerned that there wasn’t a lot of volume of mail for being the end of month or year but it was explained to me that it’s okay because it’s the time of year (huh?). Anyway, I managed to get all of the mail done and was able to put another dent in the readdress mail. I worked until 6 and did the NOPPS. This will be the only OT for the next week or so.

After work I headed home. Traffic was heavy through out the 95 corridor. I am thinking it was people leaving early for the Holiday weekend. I did manage to get home by 6:30 but still it was heavy. Oh I saw the Turkey in West Haven again. This time I saw a couple of furry things next to it. I am thinking it was Momma and babes hunting for food.

Mom was waiting for me for dinner. We had spaghetti and true to nature we both got the sauce on our white shirts. Mine is in the wash now and Mom’s will be waiting for her when she gets home.

Mom had to go Meriden for a meeting tonight. I am not sure what time she will be home but I hope it isn’t too late. I tried to check the traffic cameras to see how the traffic was moving and it seemed to be moving in the Long Wharf and part of Northern New Haven but there were no Middletown CT cameras! WTF?

I asked Mom what we would be bringing to Bob’s Picnic on Saturday. It’s his annual July 3 picnic in preparation for West Haven’s firework show that night. Every year West Haven always has their show the day before 4th of July. I think so it wouldn’t conflict with a town near by (READ: New Haven)

The Archdiocese of Hartford announced that Arch Bishop Peter Rosazza retired today. He has been as I would like to think progressive. The first time I met him he presided over our (Dave’s and mine) confirmation. You can read it here if the link above doesn’t work:

April 15 2008-Tax Day

Good Morning! It is after 2 am and I am trying to get my self to sleep. I have been working on the computer (its being slow) the newly updated Norton was scanning last night but it seemed to take too long. The warm milk didn’t work this time.

Mom went to bed by midnight and was a sleep by 1. Today she is going to the opera and will be seeing La Boheme. She told me that ‘Rent” is based on that same opera. That’s really cool.

Hey did you see The Return of the Jedi? The one that aired on Spike was the extended version and included some new footage including that of the actor who played Anakin Skywalker in Episode 2-3 (I love modern technology) I had read on the IMDB that the DVD would have that. Starting this Sunday all six episodes of the Star Wars movies will be aired in Chronological order. I am not sure I will be watching all of them again since they were all on these past two weekends.

Here is my chore list for today:

Work -okay
Dr. Martin -yep
Write letters
Go Shopping -yep
Have dinner with Roberta. -had ice cream instead
Empty the dryer
Clean my room.

I revised my pen pal address book. I deleted the ones that had bad addresses or addresses belonging to men. I also revised the General pen pal list that included the invalid addresses with notes.

I think I will try to get back to sleep before I don’t get up at all. Good night.

Well I finally got some sleep. Although I think it was more of a dozing because I could hear the broadcast day starting on the radio. I did manage to get up by 6:15 and so did Mom.

I got to work at a decent hour. I have been working on Lockbox from yesterday. I had gotten 25 charts from Medical Records. It took me an hour to sort and deliver. It usually does when I have that many to start off with.

I got a call from the Rectory today and the secretary told me the deacon takes care of the sponsor cards and will be calling me. Well the deacon is my friend Nick Genovese. I called Mom and told her.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
