AS the processing of trying to understand the latest school shooting begins or continues. I have read and heard “More needs to be done”. They would be right. I don’t believe AK47’s or military arsenal should be sold to civilians. I do believe as Brian Van Brunt, the executive director of the National Behavioral Intervention Team Association stated Friday morning that is not just a legal or Mental Health that needs to help but the community. Samantha Haviland confirms the importance of Community help. Now I know that we as a community may not be qualified but we have to help those who are mentally ill or with substance abuse. There needs to be programs within the town, and groups that can help. Yes the states may have cut the funding for it but the local citizens need to help out too. I know I will be Helping out Bridges here in town.
The FBI is going to be under scrutiny now with the additional information that is coming out that they were given several tip in the past about this young man. They already have enough on their plates with being subject of scrutiny.
So it is Saturday night and it's snowing! It started around 6 and will end some time over night and hopefully be melted by the time Don goes to dig out tomorrow afternoon. I have been home from days activities earlier than I planned but I hopped into my pajamas and curled up under the blankets and watched NCIS marathon and got on the computer.
This morning I had my Personal training assessment. It was about 20 minutes of questions and I had a print out that indicated what needed to be worked on. Anyway, Alexander feels that in order to start the process. Strength training and then the rest. He will work with me for the next 4 to 6 months and it will be for a price of $300 plus. I can cancel it any time. No contract. He had me work on these pulling band *huge*. I was finished by 8 in the morning.
I came back to the house and relaxed until it was time for the wake. I got re ready around 11:30 and started to leave around 12:30 or so but I started chatting with Don for the second time that day. He ha some interesting ideas about the whole gun issue.
I ended up being a little late for the wake. I drove by the funeral home twice (didn’t see it by the bar next to it. I finally got there and I guess it as the wake first and so I stayed for about twenty minutes. I did get to see Mama Terry for a few moments and she looked great. I actually thought the memorial service would be going on but remembered the prayer service would be at 3. It really didn’t look full and it surprised me. When I didn’t see anyone staying from the office I decided that I would leave as well.
This allowed me to get to the store on the way home. By then the clouds started rolling in. It got colder too. I stopped at the STop and Shop in West Haven. I went food shopping and was home by 3. As usual I forgot a few things.
When I got home I emptied the bags and then got into my pajamas. Knowing I wasn’t going out again for the night I settled in and watched the ncis marathon.
