Humid out

Image
It is almost 11 in the morning and according to Cortona its 87 degrees and supposed to get into the 90’s.   There is a heat advisory for the entire day until 8 pm tomorrow night.   I just put a fan on in the back room for the kitties even though most of the windows are open.   I have put another one on at my feet.   I don’t have an AC for downstairs but I do have one for my bedroom.   I still believe the window fan will be sufficient for the season. I had every intention of going to class this morning but I didn’t.   I decided I would go on another walk later.   However, if the humidity is still high and or bad then I will do the cardio at the gym before 5.   I will play it by ear.   Something tells me neither will happen.   I did manage the two mile walk yesterday and that ramped up my daily steps to 14,388.   That’s the highest in a while. Alex was pleased at the progress I made (despite the 1lb gain).   He knows it will...

I survived

Well I survived my first week back at work.   There were a few times I thought I fucked up so bad that I would be in trouble but I survived it.   The issues I spoke of earlier in the week about the mail continued until Thursday when all 14 bins arrived.   Shadow and I were working on them and almost done.   Admittedly she does it much faster than I.   I am concerned about that. I did have computer issues that needed to be dealt with but by Friday I tried to get any personal distractions out of the way. Most nights I came home exhausted.   I didn’t do much except the important to me stuff.   That would be the cats, my dinners, and walks.   I left stuff to be done to later today.   I missed the meetings (I didn’t have to go according to Barbara) and I missed the weekly meetup.   I went to bed by 8 on Wednesday.   The rest of the days were late nights.   There was one hiking meetup that was supposed to be this Sunday but was...

I don't know what it is

I don’t know what it is but I am feeling better today than I have in a few days.   The sun is shining and I think its well into the 70s at this point.   Partial clouds but no rain expected. Yesterday turned out great.    There was a power failure on the campus that made connecting through VPN hard and for the others to use epic and I thought I would miss the Embracing change class.      I didn’t.   The power outage seemed to be resolved by the end of the business day. So the class was very good.   I had to sign into the zoom with my email and password and connect through Facebook.   It used my profile picture and I later found I could undo it to be live.   I was afraid I messed up on the zoom log on for future zoom activities.   We will just have to see. I learned a lot from this class it has a lot of good tips and information on dealing with change.   I just have to remember to do the work for these classes prior. ...

Still not quite the summer feeling

It is a beautiful morning.   The sun is shining and will probably play hide and seek with the beautiful clouds out.     It isn’t supposed to get any warmer than the low to mid 60’s.   I will be wearing a sweat shirt today.   I was still wearing flannel pajamas and a fluffy warm bathrobe this morning.    Tomorrow will be the same way it sounds.   All next week is not supposed to be so good. Shit I heard some crows and almost a cheap noise and I looked up in the air and noticed the crows chasing a red tail hawk.   It’s been a while since I saw them do that usually they leave each other alone.   I was feeling bad for the hawk.   A short time later I notice Sky looking outside the window in the back room and he looked as though he was hiding from the bird that was in a bush.   As the bird flew away Sky Jumped up on the ledge and then jumped back down but still trying to keep an eye on the bush.   I would have taken a picture...

Moving slowly today

I should be at class but I woke up with  a headache this morning and decided I would take it easy and catch up on sleep and get rid of the headache.  It's gone now.  I paid some taxes and finally got to straightening somethings I have left all week.   I have a little bit more to do on both those.  I will do it later after bingo and the gym.   As it was predicted the rain came just around noon and one rumble of thunder.  It came  hard and then the sun came back out.  Just a little bit hotter.  Not sure if this will be the theme for the afternoon.  I may have to go on a walk early. I did forget to mention that this week there was some changes in the dynamics of the neighborhood.  The Flipped house around the corner have new owners.  I met them yesterday afternoon as small delegation greeted them.  Their POD delivery showed up at about 7:30 and my reaction was a mixed annoyance but when I actually met them...

Still up

I was still up at 1 in the morning on Saturday. Tiger was in the base of the table and I'm not sure where sky was.  I had fallen asleep on that couch and decided that I'd be more comfortable in bed.   I went up stairs and Sky followed eventually.  I stayed in bed until about 6.  Did our regular SAturday morning routine and laid down for a little while and then started getting ready for the day My personal training session with Alex was at 8  o'clock this morning and I did pretty well. I lost a couple of pounds in the weight.  Of course by the end of the day I may have messed it up with the food I had today.  We are having our first session for the Challenge on September 4. I am afraid there was a low turn out to the Day of Action and canvassing.  There was about 13 or 14 people there and speeches from Senator M Looney from New Haven, and Norwalk's Senator Duff.  They spoke a long time which cut into the time for canvassing....

Snowy Monday

I had hoped to have  missed the snow they were predicting overnight and into today.  Unfortunately it started flurrying when I hit the city. Great. I didn’t bring my boots today.  There are snow showers predicted for Milford this morning and apparently for the city. Lovely we are getting another Nor’easter come Wednesday.   There is one thing that I forgot to mention.  A strip mall had some damage during the storm friday and I just found out that it was the strip mall by my house.  I didn’t even make the connection until a coworker said something to me this morning.  I hadn’t recognized the names or the background pictures. I thought it was in another part of town. Work went well.  The healthlogic came early so I jumped on that as soon as I could.  It was pretty quiet for Monday. Could have been the weather or could have been weekend activities.  I had fried proscuitto, baby arugula, melted provolone, baby arugula & to...

I thought

I was surprised to see the sun out yesterday morning.   I thought it was supposed to rain all day.     I am sorry I didn’t take advantage of the sun to clean out the car before going to the gym.   Of course I took a look at the report and found out it was to start later on in the day.   It actually started just as I was leaving the gym I was at the gym for almost 2 hours.   Alex had someone before me and was still working with her until quarter of 1. When it was over we did our session.   I weighed in and got my weekly biometrics.   I lost some weight and some of the body fat increased and others didn’t.   We then talked about dietary needs and he wrote out my Calorie limit (1400) and the percentages for the meals.   Then we went over the schedule and he wants me to take to classes that he and another person are teaching.    He also gave me supplements to take (Vitamin D and multi vitamin and something to help with the j...

A slow start

I was moving at a snail’s pace this morning.   I got up fed the cats and went and laid back down on the bed and watched TV and got on the computer.        I knew I had to get ready for the tour of the gym at 10 this morning and I was a little nervous. I looked at swimsuits for the pool.   Well it turned out to be a waste of time. I am probably using the term fraudulent wrong here but I was quite upset to learn a few things about LA Fitness.   One their gym in Orange is closing in February.   There was no one there to give me a tour.   I signed up with “John F”.   The guy suggested it may have been in Hamden or the one in Milford.   I specifically picked that location and convenience.   There should have been a message on the website once it was posted that it was closing. As I was getting ready to leave for the one at the Milford mall.   I called and talked with a woman. I explained the situation and when...
