Sis is back home

Greetings, one and all I just wanted to check in.    It’s been several weeks since I last wrote. Since my last check in.’ My Sister came home on Tuesday this week and is already back in Normality or what passes for that.   I met one of her aids on Wednesday and she is lovely.   Liz seems pleased with this.   As of right now the aids are 24-7.   I will meet the weekend girl soon. While she was at the nursing home, she had the first of two-cataract surgery.   I really don’t know how she is feeling She told me I seem to remember her being overwhelmed. Next month her son Chris and his family are moving down to Florida.   They will be staying with friends.   It’s good because school starts early down there.   I still don’t know where they are going. The rest of the family seems to be doing well.   Nephew Nelson 2 is in a fundraiser, and I contributed to Kellsey’s Hope.   It’s a foundation that provides hope for famili...

July 2, 2026

Today is the last day of work for most departments at Yale and Probably Major Universities are closed except the summer sessions since they are on Compressed schedule.   It is also an Important holiday as America is turning 250.   There are all kinds of activities .   Milford had a Parade in late June but having fireworks Saturday, there is a farmers Market on Saturday.   Unfortunately, I will not be able to go to them as my friend Faith and her husband Jerry are having their annual 4 th of July Picnic in Clinton with Fireworks.   I will be making my pasta salad either tomorrow or Saturday morning.   I think there are 15 or twenty people attending. I tried to see how much I should make but their recipes are not helping, or I am just not getting the gist of it. Well, there is other food going to be there I am still struggling to keep the house clean.   I forced myself to vacuum one room and need to finish the others.   Every couple of...

Its the end of another Month

As you know, it's been a crazy month.  At the beginning of the month I was sick with gastroenteritis and it took awhile for me to recover.  I also fell a couple of times once at work but I will explain about that in a bit.  The other time was in the bathroom and slid in a puddle of water.  I am fine except I get a muscle spasm when I walk far.  I don’t want to go to the doctor but I will if it gets worse.  Other than that I am much better and I got my appetite back. On May 13, I received a call from Nephew Chris letting me know that my sister was in the hospital after a fall in her home.  She had been in four different hospital for the next few days St Raphs being the last one.  Anyway they originally thought she broke her back but after an MRI finding nothing .  They did discover she recrushed two disks in her back.  She has been in t he nursing home for maybe two weeks now.  She has gotten some visitors.  She maybe has...

Easter Saturday

Good morning! Hope you're enjoying your Easter weekend.    I am trying to get things done but moving slowly.   I went shopping yesterday but forgot a few things.   I hope to get them this afternoon. I tried to write a few times this week but got tired.   I know I often do that.    I'm not seeing a doctor about it.    I figure it’s my age and my lupus. I had my appointment on Tuesday with Dr. Gordon-Dole.   She could tell I have not been taking my meds regularly and so I promised I would.   She also reminded me that the CPAP machine is important.   I have been on it a couple of times. Wednesday was meetup day and I was looking forward to it.   We didn’t go to our regular spot but Cristi’s in Madison.   There were only four of us.   We talked about everything.   I had pancake. I couldn't attend the lunchtime rally on Wednesday.    I thought I would have a lot to do.   Since I wou...

March 26, 2026

All this week I was putting off writing partially because I was tired every night and I was thinking (now) I was overreacting.   Even though I was told I wasn’t the only annoyed at some situations at the brunch last week. First Damien brought her dog to the brunch and left it in the car despite the fact that invited her to bring it inside.   She declined, and I recalled an argument that previously occurred between Steph and her during their last visit to Faith.     I voiced concern to Cyn, but she assured me Damien understands her dog best.      Steph and Damien made jokes during their conversation.    I wasn’t sure it would go well. The second issue was Abby she was talking to Cyn and drove Cyn crazy She asked a few of us to sit next to her because of Abbys rapid questions to Cyn.   During the LRC game she was obnoxious again.   I don’t remember if said anything to her at that point but earlier I apologized for not ...

St Patricks Day

Happy St Patrick’s Day.   May you many blessings and Luck of the Irish on ya.   The parade took place last Saturday, with strong winds.   And cloudy.   Many restaurants will serve Irish dishes throughout the day. It is also my maternal Grandmothers 139 th birthday.   I have no love loss for her, but some of cousins do even though she has treated all of us like crap.   Late in life, she developed dementia and Alzheimer’s, which worsened her condition.    I used to think all the cousins loved her, but later they joked about how mean she was.    They also joke about things that she did over the years so maybe they respect her and overlook her faults.   Don from next door came over at 1, checked the window, and suggested removing it when it's warmer.    He asked what happened and as I was explaining it to him I got the feeling he was thinking I was an asshole.   He really can be a jackass-no wonder some of the...

Monday Blahs

I got up at my normal time and fed the sky.   I went back to bed for a while.   I got up, made coffee, watched TV, and prepared for work.    I departed at an appropriate time; however, the weather conditions were dull and uninviting.    The weather conditions were characterized by significant fog.   I spent the day opening mail and sorting the mail.   I didn't finish Friday's tasks, but I handled the incoming mail; I got distracted.    The volume of printing required over the three days was substantial.    I also took care of the claims and they were done early   I did go to Nicas for Lunch, had seafood salad no bread and No dessert.   I visited the lunch room, met some care center staff, and found Gina impressive.    She is doing well as the newest member of the committee.   I was glad to be going home because I was hoping to do the floors.   It didn’t happen but I did ask Don N...

March 15, 2020

Good morning. It is currently after 6:30 a.m., and I have been awake since 3:00 a.m.    Partially because I was getting woken up by Sky who decided to sleep elsewhere within the house.   A part of me was wondering if he was annoyed with me and that’s why he was not sleeping on the bed next to me.   When he came to get what I call Kitty Loving I stopped thinking that. My weather app predicted snow showers overnight, but when I checked, there was no sign of snow. Rain is expected tonight.   I am sure we will have evidence of that!   I think I will look at the forecast for the week later. Recently, after talking with Liz, I decided to throw away the pork that had been defrosting in the refrigerator.    She asked if I froze the food or cooked it and then refroze it.    Upon reflection, it seemed as though I had received confirmation that my actions were inappropriate. Well going to get going.

I have been tired all week

I have been having problems sleeping at night.   It's a myriad of reasons.   I am always reading my phone or laptop for different things. I reflected on social norms and acceptability, and I finally managed to sleep last night.   Work has been good and busy.   We had a team social to welcome the newest people to join us.   One works under ChristinaM and one works on our team.   The rest of the week was enjoyable.   The pile of rejections that Patty gave me was big and I was able to finish it that same day.   On Friday the mail coming in was heavy.   Opened it—mostly shredder material.   I'll finish the task on Monday, and GA will assist on Tuesday after her long weekend.       Supervisor also took a long weekend as well.   We had a membership union meeting this week as well as our regular committee meeting.   The membership meeting addressed the contract’s status and included questions abo...

Today is International Womens Day

Today is not only Daylight Savings time for some people but also International Women’s Day.   Truthfully until this year I never gave much thought to it.   It is an ongoing process of honoring contributions and maintaining mutual respect among us all.    It’s a cloudy and rainy morning and it will be cloudy all day.   I am glad I am not going to go anywhere until dinner time with Liz. Talked briefly with Laura, who has pneumonia.    She went to the doctor yesterday and got checked out.   She did some errands and rested but she is leaving this afternoon for a flight.   She probably told me her plans, but I expect she'll cancel.    This may be related to voucher she needed to use. Earlier this week, I might have mentioned my friend Steph.   We saw her at the meetup, and she was excited that her relationship with John was nearing 18 months.    We were all excited for her.   That was until she wrote tha...

Saturday Doings

My plans for cooking and shopping changed completely when I discovered the main ingredients were still frozen.    I looked up to see if this stuff can be defrosted in the microwave and they can.   I probably should know this by now, but I don’t do a lot of constant cooking.   I will be leaving shortly for the store I have some family news.   My cousin Marianne announced on FB that her Potsdam NY is on the market as she moved back to CT to be closer to her family.   I think that’s great.   I don’t really know where she moved to as she still has two brothers in other states.   The other two and her sister live in Milford, and west haven.   I told Liz about it via text message last night. I'm frustrated—the meats and chicken are still frozen solid and might need two more days. I tried the chicken, but it doesn’t work.      The roast would take 30 minutes or so to thaw.   I may be able to make sauce and meat loaf to...

Not as stressed as I was earlier

I am not as stressed out as I was earlier this week.   I managed to get my taxes done.   I went food shopping (and GW reminded me that I am doing the best that I can).   I am getting more and more used to the new setup for the Credit Union Website and they do let me know if a bill is already set up to be paid or not.   Just have to keep ahead of it.   I am expecting my paycheck in my account later tonight and one of the first refunds to arrive later this week.   I have a bill getting ready to be sent out but I can’t think of anything.   The end of the month is at&T again and   HOA even though I paid that twice.   I have to remember about the mutual fund that comes out then too.   Oh and I have to pay the tolls online.   That’s the first thing I want to clear up.   Oh and the latest chewy is coming next week.   I have to have my debit card for that one   All these things are popping int...

Dads Anniversary

My father passed away 37 years ago, mainly due to a ruptured plastic aorta he had received earlier.    It was tension with the siblings.   The Funeral was big.   Lots of people came and I think we got condolence cards for days.   I don't visit the cemetery because I keep memories and photos of my parents and brother. Today, I'll be cleaning the house and, hopefully, working on taxes.    I'm anxious about finances after overpaying some bills, which forced me to move money and strain my savings. Laura called me early this morning; we chatted about various topics, and she offered to lend me money, which I declined.    I would feel terrible and uncomfortable. I've finished last night's dishes and prepared some for tonight that are Sky's.   Additionally, I have standard dishes available for use. The dryer's ball bearings are squeaking again.    When it rains it pours.   It hasn’t blown up.   There is melted residue...

Yesterday was My Foster Cousin Birthday

I Just remembered that my friend and foster cousin Gregs Birthday was yesterday.   My aunt Bernie and uncle Don became his foster parents when he was very young.    He became friends with Brother Bobs family and on some level My sister’s family.   To be honest I don’t see him in person but follow him on social media.    He is a local singer. My hope is to get work done today. You’re familiar with the pile of papers in my office.    If the day continues to be dreary, I can do it.      It's sunny.    I've cleared my desk and am now working on the files. It's late afternoon, and I've paused my cleaning. I still need to file more documents, but they won't be in order.   I think I misfiled my auto insurance packet Around 4 I went to DiBello’s Subs in Orange and got a RB sub with cheese, and tomatoes, and peppers and got two oatmeal cookies.   Of course, the sandwich hurt my tooth several times I used thos...

December 28, 2025

It's Sunday morning, and I needed to clean the bathroom. After taking a shower, I ended up making a big mess. I even washed the litter mat, and I hope the litter that may have been in doesn’t clog the system up I am hoping to get the house cleaned and do the grocery shopping I tried to add a picture to this blog but couldn't.      Using a QR scan to log on is time-consuming. I don't have time for that. I did vacuum the LivingrooCm and able to clean out the canister part and now the air power in the hose is back to normal For dinner I made buttered noodles and refrigerated the rest. It didn’t take long to make and even shorter to eat. I Heard from my sister today and she sort of accused me giving her a cold.   She wondered when my symptoms started and hoped I hadn't given her COVID.   She'll update me tonight. She requested COVID tests and non-alcoholic Robitussin. I talked with Laura G tonight we talked about families, Health, and Holidays. ...

Today is My Nephew Chris's Birthday

Today is my Nephew Chris’s Birthday.   I am going to send an IM or text message in abit.   He is Liz’s youngest son from her first husband, Tom. Chris lives with Jenn in South Carolina.   I am sure Liz will talk to him at some point. The snow stopped sometime during the night and came to 8 or 9 inches and so digging out started but is not completely. I was hoping there would be more but as usual no. I meant to do more, but I only washed the dishes and picked up things from the floor. I did have a lovely chat with my friend Telka about things like my health and how she spent the holiday with her husband and friends.   I tried to tell her the information I had without sounding stupid. I've already called to complain about IMM website access and told them to fix it or I'll leave as a patient.    I explained that every time I went to the tabs It took me back to the log on page. Today, my friend Laura contacted me to inquire about my well-being....

November 12 2025

I know I went missing for a while.  Health was questionable, overwhelmed by work, and working on repairing a relationship with Sister.  I am not so overwhelmed by work right now but health is driving me crazy. Lots of blood work it seems.  I have my infusion tomorrow.  Lately I can’t seem to speak well, or I walk unsteadily.  While ago I fell a couple of times and I let a few of the doctors know at least I think I did The relationship is slow going,  we had dinner a couple of times but that's it.  We Text each other daily but I dont go over every day yet. Sky (the cat) is good although he had a few bouts with yak but he seems ok.  No, I didnt take him to Vet.  I stopped giving him treats for a while.. Everyone in women finding friends group is fine, sort of.  Izzy lost her five year old rottweiler  and Faith and Jerry got their marriage blessed two days ago by Pope Leo.  Steph is dealing with her bad knee but keeps worki...

Came home today

I left my brother's at 10am.    I shared a final breakfast coffee with Janis before she departed for work.    Spent time with Jim and packed the car and headed out.   My hope is tcako return next month for a weekend visit.   The morning was beautiful.    I was aware that I had a limited window of time before the afternoon commute commenced.   Traffic proceeded smoothly.    I got home a little after 3.   I had to stop a few times. Upon returning home, I unpacked my suitcase, organized my living space, and spent time engaging with Sky.     I was also expecting Laura from OS to stop by on her way back home.     My last day in Allentown was very nice.   Once the weather cleared up and we all had our naps.   Janis completed some cleaning and knitting tasks while Jim and I went for a walk and took the car to the car wash.    The place did a beautiful...

Allentown Day 2

Our plans for yesterday afternoon changed by lunchtime.  Janis came home from WW at that point and we decided to have a snack (unhealthy lunch LOL) and decided to go to the Allentown Art Museum ,  Where there were two exhibitions of interest The Art for Church and Home that included a tiffany window that had a small light show .  There was a quilt exhibition that we never made it to.  Both Jim and my energy level were waning.  We decided to come home.  Neither of us went to the gym or washed the car yet.    We stopped to get iced coffee and then returned home to have a mid-afternoon snack.   We made plans for dinner.  Left over lasagna and salad.  Janis and I made plans to go to Aldi to get salad fixing after we had some quiet time.  It was also just about then the so called “storm” was starting.  It was a light rain but no Thunder or lightening. Sunshine was short-lived, as clouds came back by 7...

Allentown Day 1

My trip down yesterday was nice.   I made a few stops before reaching the highway.   Gillion called me while I was at the bank and comparing routes and traffic levels.      I got on with little to no problem.   I stopped in Fairfield as traffic began to get heavier but was still moving.    A deer was visible in the middle of the day.   I appreciated that the deer remained safely away from the traffic. I do not recall the exact time I arrived at Governor Cuomo's bridge, but the ride proceeded at a steady pace despite occasional periods when the speed seemed inconsistent.   It was around lunchtime that I stopped for rest break in Pompton Lake.   I had lunch at a Wendy’s and another check in call from Gillion.   It made me feel good.   It was shortly after that I checked in with Laura in Old Saybrook.   She told me about the state dinner party she went to and how much she enjoyed it. Approx...
