An Active Day

Good Morning! It is a sunny beautiful Sunday morning.  It is 75 and going to get hotter.  I will be leaving in about 2 hours for the solo walk in Maclean Nature Preserve in Granby.  I was just reading some of the comments from members and overall they loved it.  One had to back out because of the heat (oh and two of them did it yesterday and the other did it last week sometime.  It is supposed to be equally hot up there but one of the participants said she went at 10 yesterday and it was lovely.

When I spoke to Alex about this he said to be sure to drink lots of water and prepare for this hike.  I am trying to drink some water now and will have a protein shake or two before going but I plan on bringing Jell-O and pudding with me.  (I can’t have any real solids just yet).

I am not sure how many I am taking (it’s a two hour hike and easy) so probably not much there is a farm/brewery near there (no not going there to drink but will look around).  I won’t stay long as I need to be back in time for the family zoom catch up.

So how was your Saturday?  Mine was good.  I ended up not going to class and Alex texted me asking why. Unfortunately I didn’t see it until he asked me to come in for 10:30 so I got ready and left.  WE had a good session I told him how the week went and how much I walked.  I also told him about the tooth adventure.  After the session I stayed for a half hour cardio.

I went to NAPA auto and picked up a windshield solar shield for the car and I am really disappointed in it.  It doesn’t stay in place.  There is no way to tie to something to make it stay in place and I ended up paying a little more than I wanted to (11 cents).

Why is it that no matter what I do anything I bring in to the house or my life there is ultimately something that doesn’t work right?  Last month it was that piece of shit Fitbit, this month it’s the solar shield.  In the past it has been some wire for the TV when I first got it.

The rest of the afternoon I was relaxing and then I went grocery shopping.  I got mostly Jell-O and puddings for today.  I also got coffee creamer for work and some chicken, pork, and lamb for the day I can eat normally again.  I also got some eggs because I will be eating that until then.  Not much else after that.  I will still need more milk and sweetener.

When I came home I fed the kitties and watched T V until about 8 or 9.

Neighbors to the back of me had a birthday party in their yard for what I am guessing a family friend.  They did the social distancing and preparing for it for the last two days.  It was very nice.  Not loud or boisterous.  The only thing is one geust brought Their Yorkie. One who apparently can snap?  Really?  You would bring a dog that snaps to a party?  Anyone who has followed me on blogs knows I love dogs (well most of them) but I also know how dangerous it can be.

My god doggie and her parents came home yesterday afternoon from their vacation.  I missed them I haven’t had a chance to say good morning or welcome back but that will have to be for later.

Dear Friends

September 22, 2013

Dear Friends

It has been a long and busy day.  It all started around 7.  I got up showered and dressed and got the dogs out for their morning walk and made sure things were ready for Nancy and Patrick’s return this evening.  They were supposed to come home by 7 but unexpectedly returned by 4.  I had received a couple of text messages from them while I was out with Mrs S this afternoon.

I made it to 8:30 mass at ST Mary’s where we welcomed back DEacon John HOffman who had been living in Florida this past year until the unexpected death of Mrs. Hoffman.  I gave Mr. Hoffman a hug after church.  I then came home and waited for Mrs. S.

MRs. S came after 1.  We then headed to Woodruff Road and that’s where she did the door knocking for the next two and half three hours.  She spoke to many who wanted to really talk with her over many issues.  It gave me an opportunity to see a part of milford that I don’t see often.  The homes around there are beautiful.

When I got back to the house it was nearly 4.  I called and sent text messages to her and we finally connected and I wouldn’t have to go back this evening. She thanked me for everything.  I let her know that the dogs may need walking.

After the phone calls I started laundry and started washing the windows and hanging up the blinds that Mom was kind enough to do for me yesterday.  WE decided earlier today that it would be time to get new blinds for the room.

Around 6 I headed over to the cat.  It was the first time all day that I saw her.  She was glad to see me.  I replenished her dry kibble since threw it down the sink along with her water.  I gave her fresh water and another can of food.  I will see her tomorrow morning.

When I came back Mom was finishing up some ironing and I finished the last of the two windows and I started another blog.

This blog I was going to start once I started back up with Pen paling once I was on my own.  However, I received my annual holiday cards from Ms Jeannette in California.  As usual I don’t think I set it up right but I can always change it later.

I got quite the surprise news this afternoon before I was going out.  Mom tells me that Jim had been in the hospital this weekend.  He had a UTI and it affected the prostate and kidney area.  Happily he called this afternoon and said he was heading home.  Mom had told him I was concerned and that if he wanted or needed I would go down and be with him.  He has declined.

Well I have to check a few emails and answer them.  I just deleted a whole bunch of “check in emails” for the Journal Writing list as well as others but I couldn’t find one that I was specifically looking for.

I hope you have a great night and see you in the morning.

In Fifteen Hours

In fifteen hours and after a day of work my weekend with Packy and Preston will begin. Their Mom let me know they are looking forward to seeing me and spending time with me. You have no idea how that pleases me. It’s that unconditional love we all look for. I have a feeling the next two days they will be alone longer than during the recess (well maybe not). It will just seem like it. Anyway, their family should be home some time Sunday afternoon.

My co-worker GO just recently got a puppy and she is going through new parent issues with the puppy. She is afraid to leave the puppy alone for long periods of time. She was concerned as he was having the runs recently and she shared it with all of her Facebook family. That I probably could have done with out but I also could empathize with her.

Happy News Mom is continuing to recover from her sinus infection. She sounded much better today but wasn’t feeling completely better. She had a busy day of meetings. She came home and made dinner (Left over Chicken and Gravy and various vegetable dishes). She has more meetings tomorrow and tomorrow night including another Sewer Commission. That will be on going until the Pumping station is built.

Okay I am going to go watch NCIS from season 3. Yeah I know I should be sleeping but that’s not happening right now.

July 3, 2010

Well good morning it is a beautiful morning and I am just doing odds and ends. I have been surfing the net and for some reason my computer is pretty slow this morning which is driving me nuts. It’s clear some of the documents really need to be moved or deleted.

I have started my laundry and will keep an eye on it as it gets done. I have a feeling that I won’t get as much as I planned done. I can have it done Monday as well.

I was just reading a letter from a pen pal from a long time ago. It was Michelle W from Michigan. She seemed to be having a troubled life with neighbors and animals, and family issues.

I got a lovely thank you note from Kim R. She is the candidate for State Rep in the 117th for the recent contribution to her campaign and her promise to continue working for the people in Milford.

I got to see a couple of my four legged God Children today. Sylvia and Boppie got home from seeing Sylvia’s son and his family. She apparently went grocery shopping as well. I also saw Finian. His family were expecting family members so I couldn’t stay long but I found out they are going to the Outer banks in a couple of weeks and will be going to a Dance Competition in PA.

Well I have some things to do before going to the picnic so I am going to do them…have a great day.

I can't believe it

I can't believe it is Wednesday again. This week has flown by again. I guess that's what happens when you have a holiday at the beginning of the week. Actually It could apply to any part of a week.

I am afraid I got up early this morning by 3. I had the runs again (yuck). I stayed up until 4 and then tried to sleep. I stayed in bed until 6:30. I managed to get some laundry dried and put stuff out on the line. Mom got up while I was sitting and watching TV. Now you and I both know that at 7 am I should be getting dressed or getting my lunch ready. Not watching the second to last season of Angel on TNT. I got the lunch done. I got dressed and was out the door by 7:20.

Mom had just gotten up at 7 so that she could be at the meetings to hire the new administration. I am not sure what time she will be home. I have a feeling it will be the same time as last night.

It is now after 9:30. I am heading to bed. The rest of the day went okay. I didn't finish today's work but I did manage to catch up on the bad addresses after 2 days. I still have to get the mail from the lobby and I think I should do that first thing tomorrow. By the end of the day I was able to sort yesterday's and deliver.

Alexis J started her vacation and wedding event. She is getting married on Saturday and the team had breakfast and gave her a cake. She shared it.

I walked down to the first floor and up the garage stairs too. I wasn't to bad by the time I got to the car. I was able to get out of the garage an into the flow of traffic without difficulty. It was pretty much that way all the way home.

Mom left me a note about dinner and I decided to relax for a bit. ARound 5 I got my dinner and ate it while watching Charmed.

I was saddened to see Donny with his dog tooney. I didn't recognise her because she was completely shaved. She is a 14 year old black and white sheltie that has a really bad skin rash all over her backside. She really looked uncomfortable and I personally don't expect her to survive the fall.

After my visit I got changed and started getting the garbage out. The neighborhood kids were out riding their bikes. So I talked with Kim and the other nice lady. The men folk were helping the kids. WE talked about school and neighbors and how empty the street is getting. Actually only three houses are empty there are other people here.

Mom got home by quarter of 8. THe sun was just above the horizon. She forgot that tomorrow is Recycleable pickup. I explained when ever I don't get paid it is recycle day.

Well I better get going. I am tired....

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
