Going to be an early Night

 

I didn’t really sleep well last night and so I was really exhausted all day but managed to chip away at some of the backlog.  Spent the afternoon Scanning and preparing batches to be scanned.  Got to see team leader PBC who brought cupcakes.  I had one.

The weather was cloudy and cool.  I wore a jacket sweater.  It was in the sixties when I got home this afternoon. We had a little bit of a drizzle a little while ago.  Not sure if we are supposed to get anymore tonight.

I got dinner from Liz tonight. Fried chicken and corn on the cob.  Its all gone now.  She gave me a key chain with a Mustard seed in it and told me some stories about why she has it and who she gives it to.  She also told me stories about our mom.  I remember she told me about it before.   Although I was quite young when the stories took place.

So now Liz is preparing for her trip at the end of the week to visit her family in South Carolina.  She had a few appointments today including Physical therapy.  She has a few more appointments and will start packing Thursday.  I am worried about the weather.  There is a Hurricane forming in the gulf and heading up to South Carolina.

Sometime this week I will have to take a package to the actual post office because the mailman didn’t take it from her mailbox today.

Well, I need to move along.  I actually took My nighttime meds and still have to take probiotic.  I am also going to take the ZZZQuil

Going to be a long Day September 9/8/2024

 

It was a beautiful cool sunny morning.  I am afraid I didn’t sleep well.  I woke up a few times during the night and got on the phone to plat solitaire and finally got some sleep when it was time to get up.  I fed Sky and went back to sleep until 8. I was still tired by the time I left for church.

I tried to take my blood pressure.  It’s still high but I don’t want to call the doctor.  I feel fine.  I don’t want the meds to change, they all taste horrible and make me gag.

I took my time getting ready for church, but I managed to get there at a decent time.  President Martha and her husband were there as well the 9 am mass was just letting out and there was still time until 10.  WE didn’t sell that many tickets, but we still have St Agnes too,

After Church I was going to go grocery shopping but instead, I went home and didn’t do very much.  I got a text from Liz about a banana bread that Cousin Donna, made.  So, I went over and we spent the next three hours chatting, actually it was also because her friend Andrea came too.

After that I went home.  For the next few hours, I didn’t do much.  I took a nap, watched television and eventually went grocery shopping.

I even went to Dollar Store got a couple of small bottles of dish detergent for Liz and I still messed it up she needed ten I got her two.

I heard from Janice brightener this morning. Said she had to take Jim to the ER because he had fallen on Friday. Throughout the day she kept me posted. By the end of the night, they did decide to keep him for a couple of days. He does not have a concussion or brain bleed, but it still has a broken nose.

I kept Liz posted. And this is the stuff that I end up regretting telling her, she was very critical and judgmental of his decisions. I also did share about the incident couple months back when he wanted to go to New York and was asking for rights and how it was a concern for Janice first thing she says he must be doing dementia.  She did ask me a bunch of questions as had to tell her that I stayed out of it or at least I tried I did not want to get in the middle of all that and I think she understood that.

I spent the evening having dinner, being on the computer, and then eventually went to bed.

 

Today Zipped by

 

This seems to happen all the time.  Some days are slow as molasses while some days fly by.  Today is one of those days.

This morning after I did my text messages for the morning and watched a little tv.  Fed the furball and then went to Honda place and got my car serviced.  I ended up only getting the oil change. 

The other item (noise that sounds like a propeller) is an all day service call.  I must find another day to do it.  I hope to get it done while on vacation I was out of there as expected by 10:30. 

I came home and then went to My sister’s.  She asked me to go with her to Wal-Mart in Stratford, to get new lens in her a few of her frames.  I think it took about an hour and a half.

During that time, we chatted about things.  The optician who had been waiting on her and various stories of the family friends and plans to have dinner at a Thai Restaurant back in Woodmont.

I think it was nearly 12 when we got home Liz went back to her place to take a rest before PT.  I watched TV and had lunch.  Liz and I played Telephone tag because I thought she called me. 

As the afternoon progressed, I took a few showers.  Started not feeling well but by the time I went to bed I was feeling better. 

I worked on this entry and updated files.  I also got a ticket for Peabody Museum.  Earlier in the evening I contacted LG in Old Saybrook and made plans to go to the Museum on Thursday.

I had my session with Debra at 4:30.  We chatted about my birthday and vacation, family, and of course finances.  We agreed I am in a good space right now.  We will be doing a phone session next week, and not meet the week after but we will be doing zoom near the end of the month   I can’t wait to see her.

Well I am going to close out for now and finish watching NCIS and then go to bed.

Saturday was my Brother's Anniversary

 It's been twelve years since my brother Bob passed.  My sister in law posted a Pic of them. As a memory.  It took me until the end of the day to make the connection.   I mentioned  it to both Liz and Jim.  They both realized it too

That day Liz and I went to STaples so that she could get her passport retaken because the earlier ones looked bad for her.  We spent about two hours there in between waiting for the girl, and getting the pictures taken and we looked at IPADS and laptops.

One of the first questions Liz had was “is this an impulse buy”.  My answer was no but I am not ready to get one just yet this is just looking to see what the prices are.  I would prefer a laptop over an IPad or tablet.  I still have to look the reviews up.  There are a couple of the laptops that are on Amazon.

When we finally got home we fixed the swing that had fallen over during the previous night’s weather event(very windy and rainy)

The rest of Saturday is becoming a blur.  Probably watched TV..  When NextDoor Don came home I spent time with them and then came home checked in on LauraG.

Sunday definitely is becoming a blur.  Talked with Jim Late in the day.  He has been cutting back on doing the driving but Janis Has picked it up.  HE tells me he has been falling at least a few times a week.  

I just recently found out that my cousin CArol (and DLH”s Sister) will be retiring to Greece next year with her husband.  The last I knew she was on Disability and HE was working.  Liz has never been fond of Carol and I know I have had my problems with her but we were younger then.

Yesterday was Nelson’s Birthday.  Liz and Rich went to an early dinner but they really didn’t enjoy it.  RIch is having problems swallowing these days and that’s not good.  For Liz it was a day of reflexiveness?

ITs Wednesday again

 It is Wednesday again.  That means it's Meetup Day.  I am going to be meeting the girls at a new place this week.  It's in Madison CT.MJ's Beach Grille.  Faith Recommended earlier this month.  Just in Case Hammonasset is closed to capacity or the diner is closed like last week.  We ended up at Eli’s on the Hill in Branford.  Appetizer and dessert night.  It was a lot of fun.

In about two weeks we are going to Laura’s Neighborhood Beach Party in Old Saybrook.  Its beautiful.  We are probably going to have pizza and snacks.  It will be fun.  There will be music and dancing I am sure.

The rest of the month right now for the group is just the regular Wednesday night stuff and the Saturday game days but I have to admit I don’t go to those.  

The New Haven Collective has music Next Month on August 4. That will be on the Guilford Green.  I just may go.  Even though its the beginning of the week.

Liz tells me that Mike Sr. lost his father Tuesday.  Arrangements haven’t been made yet but I would like to go and show support.

I learned an old neighbor of mine Passed away.  He lived down the street toward the end off woodmont with his family.  I have good memories of him.

I sent an email to the Texas Clan.  They were in the path of Beryl.  I haven’t heard from them but that means they are fine.

We got a reminder from Cousin Donna that the Matriarch of the Coulombes will be turning 100 at the end of the month.  She is the last remaining Aunt on that side.  She married my uncle Ray.  The kids will go and celebrate with her when the time comes.

I am here

 

Actually that should be we are here.  After much aggravation and challenges we have finally moved in.  We left Thursday afternoon.  I moved the cats in to my sister’s house/room we would spent the next several days.  We couldn’t move in on Friday as we had hoped as the bank hadn’t finished the paperwork.   The way Cheryl explained it to me was I could move my things in but I couldn’t sleep there until Monday.

We were expecting the movers who were a huge disappointment to come on that Friday afternoon but they didn’t even though we told them to come.  They told us we didn’t confirm it.  They came on Saturday 3 hours later than the promised.  They didn’t unload the small truck until they were paid.  First it was one price and then it came out to $940 dollars.

Saturday afternoon is becoming a faded memory I was pretty exhausted and I seem to remember we did some shopping for lamp shades.  Saturday night we had Pizza I think and I went to bed early.  I hadn’t been really sleeping much because the titans were destroying the box spring covering and constantly getting into the closet where we were staying.

Sunday I had to come back to meet up with the cable set up guy because when he was here the day before he couldn’t do anything until the TV got into the condo.  He was another one who said he would be here at a certain time and didn’t get here until a few hours later.   I did some unpacking and got the bed made.  Everything with the cable is fine but the house phone didn’t work but it doesn’t matter because I broke it the other day.  I was going to move it to the front room and it fell out of my hand.

Liz and I have been trying to get blinds for the windows.  We did but they don’t fit.  The guy who cut them for us at Home Depot didn’t do a very good job.  That was on Wednesday.  We worked on it until 5:30 and it was very difficult.  We are going to do something different.  If we get custom made ones it would be too expensive

I am trying to get my new accounts set up for the utilities and having a problem.  Its frustrating.  I am sure I have at least the accounts but they are not working.

WE had our first major snow storm this week.  Milford got seven to eight inches of snow.  IF you look out my window it seems like a lot more.    It started around 6 Wednesday night and finished mid-morning Thursday.

I was hoping my nephew Rich would come by (after the storm dissipated) and hang the mirrors and fix a few things but he didn’t come.   I am also waiting for my nephew in law to come and hook up the washer and dryer.  No confirmation yet.
