The Mobile Home visits

Well I got there before either my sister or niece.  Cheryl couldn't get to it from the directions on her GPS.  So I told them to come by quarry road.  They both eventually arrived.  Liz announced she woke up on the wrong side of the bed.  MY response was “again”?

The park is nice.  Well maintained.  There was a lawn care guy doing lawns.  I am not sure if it is part of the fees.  The visit wasn’t long, but we all noticed things that weren’t very good...The paneling around the porch was broken and had holes.  The shed had crap in it.  When we went in it was dark.  Only one bedroom was big, the other two could be offices or storage.  By the end of the visit Liz realized after hearing Cheryl’s views that this would be a bad idea.  I felt that from the beginning.   The second one we never saw because it was unavailable today but we are not going to see after all.  My hope is no one else suggests this.

We all went our own ways.  Cheryl headed to Liz’s and I headed to the bank, and to Aldi’s for groceries.  I got most of the list and a few other things but it came to almost $88.  I probably could have done without the fish but I wanted to try their fish.  I did get ground meat, and some grated cheese, and sliced cheese.  I got fresh vegetables, and the frozen vegetables, and two of a few things.

When I got home I put them away, snacked on the cookies and yogurt, and a slice of cheese.  I decided that I would cook the bottom roast with vegetables, and frozen vegetables.  I defrosted it for 25 minutes.  Season it and put it in the slow cooker.  I had already cut up a couple of onions and cut up six small potatoes and seasoned them.  Added one package of frozen corn and 1 cup of water. I have it on low and will cook it for about six hours.  If you haven’t noticed, I didn’t  follow a recipe.

I am thinking i will make a meatloaf or two later today or by the end of the weekend.  I didn’t get bread to have hamburgers but then again who needs bread?.

Right now I am waiting for the comforter to dry in the dryer.  It isn’t completely dry and I don’t want to hang it out to dry.

I have had the TV on since I have been home.  I am watching my PBS stations and a little of the Oxygen Channel’s Snapped marathon.  Right now though there is a train traveling in Europe.

I am still fighting a slight headache again.  I am going to take some tylenol and then take a rest.  I will get the last few things I needed to get for the week either later today or tomorrow after I have cleaned the house.

Love getting early Morning phone calls

I got a call on my cell this morning at quarter of 8 asking for someone and I heard voices in the background and said to them have the wrong number and don’t call me again.  I had the feeling it was a crank call or something.  It’s not the best way to start the day.

Late yesterday afternoon someone called me asking for a Doctor’s office but they were hesitating with ‘um’ and ‘uh’ that I told them if they were going to continue with the ums and uhs I was hanging up.  When they did ask the question I said no its not and hung up.

It’s a little foggy right now but that’s supposed to change as the day progresses.  We may get some rain but it’s supposed to get into the 80s today.  That should be nice but I will be certain to open more windows to let the air in.

A classmate posted on FB that she lost her father yesterday afternoon. I sent a card to her this morning.  She lost her mom a while back.  I know how she must be feeling right now.  It’s going to be tough the next few days.

I was going to wait until noon to put the pot roast on but decided to get it going. The pot roast recipe I got from Martha Stewart it can be done in 6 hours on high or 10 hours on low.  So it might be done by 9. In the mean time I will do something with the shrimp and the chicken. I am Just not sure what.

Shortly after that I made two large beef patties and broiled them.  They were pretty big and one would have been sufficient.

The afternoon brought many interesting things.  I was getting ready to go out and noticed something really ugly that after talking with Liz determined it was cicada. At first I thought it was a hive of some sort.  I just don’t know how it got inside the window.

I went to the store before going to see Liz and visit with her. I got flowers, and a card, and some more coffee pods as I knew the 13 left would not last me until Friday.  I also got more coffee creamer.  I should have picked up my prescription but forgot to.  I will have to do it tomorrow.

My visit with Liz was okay if it weren’t for the fact that I am so angry.  To her she said I was using the f word too much or I didn’t like the fact that my employer is going to make me decide to either retire or temporary change jobs so that I can work.  Well I am too old to change jobs at this point in life and I want my regular job.  We also discussed family (the fact that a cousin is fighting with my niece about the bigotry that blacks and Asians are dealing with.  My sister is not buying it as my niece comes from a white family.   My sister also thinks our niece is drama queen.

Anyway a few hours later she sent me a picture of the flowers and thanked me again for them.  I couldn’t very well let this weekend pass without celebrating a milestone.

It was sometime after 4 when I got back to the house.  The titans were anxious to have some dinner (and my favorite phrase these days is) “its too early.   I checked the pot roast and even tried a piece.    I tried the new half cafĂ© coffee (and suspect I won’t be sleeping anytime soon) and eventually went on the computer and watched Season 1 episodes of Bonanza.

There were a variety of movies on that I have seen a billion times and still get a kick out of them.  I kept tuning the TV off because the advertisements were annoying me

Around 8:30 I decided to go for a walk.  The predicted storm ended up fizzling or moving out to other areas.  I ran into neighbors Shannon and Ben while they were walking their baby Mischa.  We were talking about the Milford FB page and how explosive it got the last few days because the admin didn’t want to promote the protests and some people attacked the admin.   We talked a few more minutes so that they could finish their walk and let Mischa do her job.

I got home after 9 and got the  kitchen cleaned up from cooking.   Had a snack and now will be going to bed.

The Sun was playing hide and see again

The sun was playing hide and seek with the world today (at least this part of the world).  It was predicting clouds for the  afternoon.  I am still not sure what will happen tomorrow for the hike.  I will see what it's like in the morning and what messages we get from Jan as well.

I don’t know when it started to rain last night.  I think it was fine when I left the office and headed to Chipotle's restaurant for dinner.  Then to my session with Debra.  As the night progressed the thunder and lightning came.  We had gone to bed semi early because I didn’t see anything on TV.  The kitties were with me for a while until the thunder got loud.  Sky left and I am thinking he went under the bed.  Tiger stayed with me for a while but not sure where she went to for the night.  For all I know they may have curled up next to the wardrobe in the spare room where I found them before I left for the gym.

As the day drew to a close I heard weather reports that included snow in the Northeast of the state and I had gotten an alert from Hawk that showed us the snow.  I heard that my brother’s state also was going to get snow too.  It's been so damn cold here I was tempted to wear my fleece jackets again.  I was sorely tempted to turn the heat back on but I didn’t.

I had a lovely conversation with a former classmate from LH this morning.  Her Name is Kathy C. She was just waking up to the second day of 2019 Reunion Weekend at LInden Hall.  She was telling me some of the things she already did.  As I mentioned earlier I couldn’t attend for a variety of reasons.

Shortly after I finished the conversation with KC I received an email alert reminding me that Endicott college in MA is preparing for their reunion weekend as well.  I am not sure when that it but I don’t think I can make it this year.

I watched Independence Day before taking off for the gym.  I also spent some time watching the mini nCIS marathon.

I am happy to report I did very well at the gym.  I lost 4 lbs this past week and AW is quite pleased but he reminded me before we started working out that I need to not fuck it up.  I did tell him if the hike doesn’t go off that I will be at the gym tomorrow.  I told him everything I ate and I asked him about the hummus and he said if it's on the list then yes if its not NO.  It would seem I am going to the gym tomorrow after all.  The hike was cancelled just after 8 tonight.

Late in the day I went to the store and got groceries including what would have been snacks for the hike.  Now I have lots of stuff for the week.  I left here shortly 4 and I was surprised it took me an hour and half and nearly $200.  I got all healthy foods.  Frozen Fish Filets, some lamb chops, lots of vegetables, and chicken, and roast.

When I got home from the store and after I got them put away I started preparing the roast for the slow cooker.  I put mushrooms and onions and Chicken broth and it was cooking until 11.  I figured five hours would be fine.  If you are wondering no I didn’t follow any particular recipe.
I did something else that wasn’t so hard either.  I setup my Outlook mailbox.  It was not that hard.  Quite easy as a matter of fact.  Now anything I get I can save on the laptop instead of keeping it on the google docs.  I am going to try and organize them if I can.  I started to tonight but it was getting a little much.

Alright I need to get to sleep.  I also started falling asleep on the couch  a while ago.  See you in the morning.

It has started

It started around 4:30 5 and that’s about the time I decided to go to the gym.  I didn’t get far.  I realized the gym closed at 5. So I turned around and went home.   At first it was sleeting and then later it was snow.  It still is with plenty more coming.  The BOE cancelled school for tomorrow in town.

I haven’t done much except go to the store and pick up the cat food and some others i wanted to try.  Just because they are equal in the package.  I also got some fresh onions to cook in the roast.  I put the roast in when I got home  and it was finished by 8 tonight.  I tried a little piece and it was delicious.  I am not sure the chicken broth was supposed to go in but I used it.  I saved the juice and onions and it's in the refrigerator.

I also cooked the pork tenderloin and had it for a late lunch and supper.  It's all gone too.  I am not sure how I will explain that to Alex on Tuesday.  It took all of 30 minutes to cook.  It was delicious.  I had mixed vegetables as well.

I will go to bed at normal time.

Another Awesome weekend

I started the weekend Friday morning with an Exercise class.  I managed to do pretty well.  That would be the case for today as well but i will explain in a moment.

Friday was a semi normal Friday at work.  DG was catching up on her work, and continuing with the mail.  I helped out where i could.  I did mostly scanning but it felt like I didn’t do very much.

We had a staff meeting.  Fairly short and focused on the move.  Supervisor hasn’t seen the floor plans but he was told that our cubicles will not be a spacious as they are now.  Think old photos of IBM where there are rows and rows of people and desks.  We will have to share printers and stuff.  Not quite sure about the location of the mailroom or scanning equipment-that’s  concern to AC.   Supervisors and Team Leads will not have their own offices as they do now.  There will be a conference room and small privacy rooms when there needs to be one on one discussions.  There will be breakrooms.  There will not a restaurant like we have at this building.  Parking was still be worked on.  So was the extra Shuttles.  Some are being optimistic others not so much.  I may have to tell siduri she was right about the shuttles and the eateries.  LOL  we will have to wait and see.

Friday night I had my session with Debra.  Earlier than our normal time.  We discussed my concerns about the finances right now.  Should I really be going on this trip with huge items coming down the pike?  We decided  yes. But it's time to reevaluate somethings.

After the session I headed home and had dinner and watched TV for awhile and called it an early evening.

Saturday started out with exercise classes and weigh in.  Alex and I were thrilled with my in body results.  It had been a month since we did inbody.  We had the challenge weigh in and both were positive.  I had lost two pounds this week.  I was pretty honest with both Pat and Alex about what the challenges were but I also said it was  a huge accomplishment to pass up the Valentine's Day goodies.

Alex and I talked about the upcoming week and my vacation.  If I go to panera have half a salad and varied salads (smaller) like the Asian salad.  He said to not fuck it up this week.  I did a half hour rowing and then came home and had my protein drink.  Later I got a salad from Chipotle.

Saturday afternoon i did get tired.  I did watch TV despite the fact i had some things planned on doing.  Like lots of cooking and making the reservations.  The best part is while i was lying down tiger was cuddled up with me so we had some one on one time.  It all changed when I was getting frustrated with the computer and D (he was helping me a little with the reservation).

I made reservations for an early flight to LV that will get me in just at lunch time.  The flight home will be leaving at lunchtime and getting back here by 2 in the afternoon.  The prices not too bad. By the end of Sunday morning the shuttle reservation .

I finally did get around to making meatloaf with the ground turkey and ground pork.  I really didn't rely on any recipe.  Just memory.  1 cup of water, 2 eggs, seasonings and bread crumbs and a little parmesan.  I had a mini one that came out good.

Around 5 i was going to walk but I noticed the battery on the phone really low so i decided to go Sunday.

Sunday morning I was putting off cooking.  I wasn’t sure why.  It will still be twelve hours and if I do it by noon it will still be ready.

By the end of the morning I made airport shuttle reservations.  I have an early morning pick up but I asked for 1 pm pick up from JFK (my flight arrives at 12:20 pm)

The weather for the weekend has been great.  40+ until sunset on Saturday and in the 30s on Sunday.  Sunny for sure.  By the end of the night it was changing.  Snow was coming in by midnight.

Flew By

This week has flown by again.  This time last week we were anticipating a couple of storms going into the weekend and of course depending on where you lived or who you talked to it the views on the storm varied.

Spent the time working, and gym, and at least one meetup.    The meetup Wednesday was quite good. Looking forward to our next one.

The kitties had their annual check up and aside from being overweight (they have been having their new food and they haven’t been eating it much) and an allergy to something they are fine.  THey have been cuddly at night.

I had my infusion Thursday and I have a new infusion nurse.  Jennifer left sometime last month.  I am so disappointed.  First impression of the new one was “meh”.  HOping to get my infusions in Milford again.  It won’t be until March or after I come back from LV.

I got back to work by 12 and I was horrified that I didn’t seem to be getting much done of scanning. Everything seemed to go wrong I also ended up falling asleep on more than one occasion yesterday.  I also forgot to change the date on the date stamper.  It now looks like I hadn’t done anything in two days.  I should have listened to Patty and gone home for the day.

Friday seemed better. Got more done but still was tired.  By the end of the day I was agitated because one of my co workers was listening into a conversation I was having with Mary A.  About the HEP program.  The Coworker AA made some accusations that the union is getting money for it.  I said AA I am not having that conversation with you.  She retorted she wasn’t talking to me.  Yet she listened into my conversation.  She is a bully.   Sometimes I like her and sometimes I just want to tell her off.

I talked about this with Debra at our session that night. We agreed it was  a good idea that some sleep is order.  After the session I went home had dinner, fed the cats, prepped sauce in the slow cooker and went to bed.

This weekend has been meh. I did my regular routine that included putting the sauce away.  Did laundry throughout the weekend. Went to my session with Alex.  Gained  a 1 1/2 lbs in weight but body fat went down.  Had lunch from Chipotle and spent the rest of the afternoon on the couch or sending the dishwasher through a few times.

I have a late morning class I will be getting ready for as soon as my clothes are dry.  The Walk around Milford meetup is not on today.  So I need to go to that one.    I registered for Alex’s class monday.

I have had a low grade headache for the last two days (I am certain its from one of the pillows).  So I am moving slowly too.

I have bingo this afternoon and probably do some more cooking.  Then get ready for the week ahead.

I must be crazy

I have been reading people’s blogs and i see they have had snow.  It makes me have snow envy.  I want snow now!  It's been cold enough for snow but we have missed out.  Apparently we should be getting some starting next week.  Now the crazy shit is....i don’t want to be out in it when it comes down or collects.  I think it looks beautiful.  I mean if the roads are clear i can do it but if it is icy or slippery i get uneasy.  However, I probably will get over it real quick next week as we are supposed to get something next week and the week following.

I didn’t do much for the rest of Sunday evening.  I did cook the salmon and ate all of it.  I had corn with it and made it as though I was  having Tilapia.  Cooked it for 30 minutes in a baking dish.  Skin side down. Oregano, pepper, garlic powder and butter.  Throughout the day I had lots of yogurt.  Too much actually.  I still have to do the tracking.

I started a letter to Dr. T.  I was starting to tell her about the Stratford Theater but I suspect she heard about it during the day (according to one of my classmates it made national news).  I asked her how her husband is enjoying his retirement and did he join any organizations.  I asked her how the HOA was going and did they have anything planned for the spring or holidays next.  I told her about the ladies guild, the meetups, and Jim’s trip to Kenya.

I couldn’t do anymore as I was getting tired and it was my bedtime.  I cleaned up the kitchen and headed upstairs.  The kitties followed eventually they were acting a tad weird last night.

THis morning was our regular routine.  This time I stayed in bed until 6:15 and actually got ready and was ready to leave by a decent time.

While I was getting ready I heard from Brother Jim.  He was just arriving at JFK from his trip from Kenya.  He posted some pictures of himself and he looks great.  I don’t know why I was worried.  He told me during the weekend all the animals he saw during his time there.  He couldn’t send pictures though.  I have to make plans to visit him one weekend soon.  I don’t think it can be before my LV trip though.

Work is fine busy at least for me.  DG is having a slow day.  There was an issue of a packet not being delivered.  I seem to remember it but it is still missing.

Got an email from Natalie at West River.  She apparently had me scheduled to come in yesterday.  THen again for the 27th.  I explained I went in on the 6th as it was the New Year and w would be doing the alternate week that way.  So I told her I would come in the 27th.  I did let her know about march and if there was any changes (health, and weather, or commitment wise) I would let her know.  I made a file on Google so that I can keep accurate records.  Have to correct it first.
I made the tilapia for dinner tonight. It came out good.  I have enough for tomorrow night too.  I will have to make the chicken for Thursday as i will be at Panera bread for the coffee talk meetup on Wednesday.

I went to the gym tonight.  Took the 6:30 class need to push myself more.  I just have to.  There won’t be any classes next monday night because of the challenge kick off at 6.  I will be going to class that morning though.  I have enrolled for an early morning class this coming wednesday.  The 5:30 one.  I am determined to do this.

I mailed Dr. T’s letter and the bank statement and I think I threw my CC into the mail slot because I can’t find it now.  I looked all around.   I had it when I paid for the stamp and I had it in my hand when I was going to put in the mail slot.  I will call them in the morning.  If they don’t find it I will have to cancel it-again.

Well I better get to bed.  I am tired and I want to get up early as i have some cleaning to do before going to work.

O Came home earlier than I expected

Dear Debra:

Well the afternoon was good.  Olivia texted me just before noon to let me know she was on her way home.  I told her where I was and what had transpired earlier this morning.  She was mortified but I took full responsibility for it.  I told her I would be back there later to pick up my charger.  I left the chicken for them.  I saw them after Dave’s Party when I went to pick up my charger.  I stayed for nearly an hour.  We discussed the last day.  I was able to talk with Preston and give him a snack but he snapped at me and it was the way I approached him.

After my visit with them I went to ShopRite and I picked up a few things for the Rib recipe and a few other things I needed.    The recipe said it would take 15 minutes to prep and 8 hours to cook.  I started it just about 6 and  it seemed to take longer (noticed a few things about the ingredients that I need to re evaluate later).  Anyway there is about 6 more hours plus draining the liquids and then adding bbq sauce and cook for another hour (read: I will have to be up at 3 and cook it until I have to get up again at 5:30.

I heard from brother Jim this morning.  He is having a quiet slow day.  He told me in an earlier text that he would be packing for his trip in 4 days.

The party was great.  I had a lot of different things ( I want to say I ate in moderation but I have my doubts) Dave  posted picture on my timeline if you are interested in seeing them.   Had great conversations including the one where mr preston bit me this morning.  I was not the first one there this time (his cousins were) and that’s okay.  I stayed until 3:30 or so.  I was anxious to get back home but also check on Preston.

When I got home to the house I fed the cats, made the coffee and of course started the ribs and a few odds and ends.  Laundry was going, refilled and made a mess of the kibble.  Started the dishwasher after prepping the ribs.

The best part of the day?  Was cuddling with Sky at least twice tonight.  He is curled up beside me and fell asleep.  Tiger who is probably waiting for us to come upstairs and go to bed was cuddly in her own way too.

I think I will try and get some sleep (not sure it will work considering I have had coffee tonight) but I am going to try.

All night I was wondering why it was so comfortable I thought perhaps the temperatures outside was making it comfortable inside.  It wasn’t I had the heat up to 70 from the other day!!!   UGH.
Well I am going to go before I start to babble uncontrollably.

See you later!

Kate

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
