A busy afternoon

I managed to get the grocery shopping done and go to Julia’s Bakery for lunch.  Unfortunately while I was having lunch the frozen fruit thawed out and I had to put them in a bowl when I got home.  I was pretty much done by 3:30 and that included getting the birthday cards for Liz and Kristina for both Mom and myself.

I had to take care of some DTC business and that included sending emails regarding the upcoming dinner and making phone calls.  I Have to deliver some stuff to the 4th District Chairman tomorrow I hope.

WE had meatloaf burgers for dinner and it was quite good.  It seem to take a while to cook everything including the potatoes.  So it was around 6 when finally sat down. It was worth the wait.  For dessert we had the BReyers Gelato Indulgences.Vanilla Caramel.  it was quite good and they have four different flavors but we have determined its probably more expensive than their regular flavors.

Now that Mom is asleep and the house is quiet I think I am going to bed.  My arms and legs are starting to hurt a little and I have taken my meds for this so its time to hit the sack.

Another Saturday Morning

This week really flew by.  I have been doing laundry and surfing the net and getting ready for my grocery shopping trip.  Happily the weather looks nice from inside.  I was expecting rain and cool temperatures.  Its already 63 degrees and its not even noon time.

Yesterday was a fairly busy work day and it was my second day in the new “space”.  We had a power surge that caused some panic and some hope we had to leave early but it never came to fruition.    I am very grateful for Auto-recovery because I had not saved a couple of documents.

We got news yesterday that Cami and her family welcomed Avrie (facebook is being uncooperative right now) into the world on Thursday.  She is absolutely beautiful.

I was very glad to be going home at the end of the day though.  I was achy and my knee was letting me know it was time to rest.  Unfortunately it also made its presence known when I was going to sleep.

Dinner was lasagna and baked Tilapia.  I liked it.  I thought it was quick and easy.  The clean up was too.  Mom enjoyed it too.

The rest of the night was fairly quiet.  Mom went to bed early and I did some laundry and watched TV until about 9 and then went to bed.

Well its getting late so I am off...have a great day..

Lots of Energy in the Air

There is a lot of “moving around” energy going around here.  I found out that I will be in a different office than was told last week and I will be in there by the end of the week.  I started emptying out the cabinets yesterday.  I was exhausted by the end of the day.  I am still not feeling 100%

Elsewhere on the campus the second wave of reunion weekend is in the final preparations phase.Since I wasn’t here last weekend I couldn’t tell if there was any activity and since its on the weekend I wouldn’t notice it if were.  I would be gone for the weekend.  It is kind of nice to know that its happening.

As I mentioned earlier I was exhausted last night and ended up going to bed very early.  I think I went to bed even earlier than Mom did.  It was also so hot that I had to open the window and put the ceiling fan on.   Actually it was hot and humid all day.  We got a thunderstorm passing through during the night that really didn’t help matters much.  I was still sweating for most of the night.

We saw Rich last night.  He came to fix the front stairs and the parts of the porch that seem to be open.  He thinks we should start thinking about replacing the front stairs and doing some much needed repairs on the front porch in general.  I think he was offering but with all that he does I doubt he would be able to do it.

I picked up some things after work including my jacket from Liz’s.  I did that after I got asparagus and corn.  I had to go to two places for both these things.  Treats doesn’t have the corn yet and do not expect it until July or August.  As a result of this we didn’t eat until after 5:30  We ended up having leftovers from yesterday.  I liked it but Mom didn’t.

After dinner I cleaned the kitchen and Mom relaxed until she went to bed.  I finished emptying the garbage and watched TV and now I am heading to bed....

Going back to work

I think I am one of many bloggers who have started their weekly blog entry with the same title.  Probably not very original but it works for me for now.

I am also probably one in a billion who will also attest to the fact that this week zoomed by quickly.  I really didn’t have a lot planned for these last several days.  I knew I had Doctor’s appointments to go to (and they worked out) and things at home I wanted to do as well.  

We had a nice visit with Jim for a few days before Memorial Day weekend.  It was laid back to say the least.  

I went to my great-nephew Nelson’s Day care concert in Clinton Connecticut and it was all Disney music (at least I think it was) it was about an hour long and it was very good.  The night ended with pizza with the family.

Sunday was Milford’s Memorial Day Parade and it was well attended and of course short.  I think all of our parades are short.  Some feel this is great for kids some feel it should be longer.  After the parade I went to my Sister’s for a picnic.

The picnic was great lots of food and lots of little cute kids and family members.  I stayed until about 5 and then headed home.  The rest of the night was quiet except for a nagging sore throat.

Yep that’s right I think I am getting a cold or something.  My throat has been scratchy and my nose running and I have had a few sneezing fits.  I would prefer not get sick.  I have been taking the Alka Seltzer since last night.

This week I know is going to be hectic.  The mail schedule may be all mucked up because of the holiday.  I am also probably moving into my new location/office  some time this week also.

Well the Cold Med is starting to kick in so I better get to bed...

Commencement Day 2014

Yesterday was Commencement Day at the University.  It started at 10:30.As I was driving to the garage I noticed a small group of people walking and I was thinking it looked like a family walking to their graduation site.  I also thought it was far too early for them to be doing that but what do I know.  

Secretary of State John Kerry gave the Class Day speech on Saturday.  He even tweeted about it as well.  I can only speculate how traffic and the activity level was like here as I never made it into town.  The traffic leaving the garage was heavier than usual.

The office looked great with the new rugs.  The walls will be painted tonight so I had to make sure everything was put back where I had them (I was hoping to have the mail done but it wasn’t to be) when I left.  I can finish it tomorrow.

last night was the annual Creative Writing contest reception.  It was filled to capacity and the weather was cooperating.  The Honorable Ben Blake, Mayor of Milford presented the Presidential Volunteering awards to four of the graduating seniors of the Girls Club.  One of the girls also got the Helen Langner scholarship as well.   It was a lot of fun.  We finished up by 8:30.

When I got home Mom was up in her office and we talked about the ceremony and then she got ready for bed and I had my steak dinner.  I was in bed by 10:30....

I am very excited about taking some time off for the next few days.  I have some appointments that are important and I am probably going to some heavy duty spring cleaning in my house.

Gorgous Sunday

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day even with the wind.  I could enjoy days like this..  I am not one for sitting outside a lot .  I would have to have a sweater or long sleeves on and one of those big hats.  

My intention this morning was to get up early and do some stuff like maybe laundry and replace the lightbulb in the bathroom all before Mom got up but only part of it got done.  I did get my jacket at Roberta’s.

Bingo went well.  PJ was there and we had two volunteers.  The hour went pretty fast I thought as well.  There was a Eucharistic Service at 11 so we finished just before 11.  I was out the door and to Dunkin Doughnuts for more coffee before church.

I went to the 11:30 mass.  I knew Liz would be serving as Eucharistic Minister there.I guess she didn’t know where she was going to be sitting.    She was able to sit with me.  After Mass we headed back here.  I don’t know how she got there before me when I left church before her.  I even took the highway.

Mom was out back watching TV and so we gathered for the Eucharist.  Before starting they got some chit chatting in and then we did the distribution.  LIz had to get back with the kids for a few hours before returning for the 4:30 mass.  She was doing the readings for that mass.

My neighbor was having a weekend tag sale that made getting on to the street somewhat of a challenge.  By the end of the day it was normal again.

I had some lunch and then got ready to do some shopping.  Unfortunately i had to come home before going to the next store because I wasn’t feeling well.   My stomach wasn’t cooperating for very long.  ONce it settled I went back out and finished shopping.  

We decided that we would get dinner from Pop’s restaurant at 5 and that’s what we did.  MOm couldn’t finish hers and i really couldn’t either but it was good.

Mom and i watched TV and I did some laundry and now we are going to bed...

Fabulous Friday

Depending on your viewpoint one could say it was fabulous and others not so much.  The weather was wet rainy and cold.  It rained throughout the day and well into the night.  Once I was home for the night I enjoyed the rain.

Work went well.  I managed to get the office packed up for the rug installation and paint job that is happening for this weekend.  HOwever I have been told that in the near future we will be moving to different location on the floor.  I have been expecting this but I just didn’t know when.

Ladies night was a huge success We had the first table by the door and was greeted by many members and of course Cheryl and her friends were there as well as a couple of friends of Liz’s.  The food was served after some blessings th The food was good and from Lassies.  I had a great time talking with my Cousin Donna..  I tried my hand at the baskets but didn’t win anything this year but Liz won the 50 50 raffle.  I was home by 8:30 or so.

Mom was already in bed sleeping and I hung out for a few hours and listened to my radio programs.  I did end up falling asleep by 11 or 12.

Today was a Pajama day.  Although I wished i had gotten dressed when I thought of it.  My sister let me know my older cousins were coming by for a surprise visit and I figured I would be dressed by they time they got here.  Nope.  Mom did a lot of napping in the afternoon and then after having dinner she came down and watched TV for a bit.  

I did some laundry and watched a lot of NCIS marathon today.  My knee  started to give me a problem midday but I took my meds and nursed it for a while.  It feels a little better.

Its going to be another quiet night I am thinking...:)

Pretty Good Week

This week has been a pretty good week weather wise.  That changed as of yesterday clouds rolled in and predictions of rain and thunder showers peppered the forecast.  I had been worried that I would get caught in the rain but not an issue so far.

Work is going well.  I got a lot on my desk that I am trying to get off before the renovation cycle hits us at the end of the week.  I am getting panicked about it but I will get to it eventually.  Apparently there was a bomb scare outside our building.  In front of Chase Bank on College and George.  On Thursday pressure was put on  to start packing for the renovation and so I started it and have come to realize that I am the worst packer in the world.  This does not bode well for future packing projects at all.

My hands, and arms and the legs (aka all the joints) have been achy and stiff despite the weather and I think that also has to do with the foods I ate this week and continue to eat.  It makes for sleeping sometimes uncomfortable but once I get to sleep its fine.

The woman’s club was this week and it was enjoyable.  WE have scheduled dates for the meetings and parties and we even have a dinner date for the women.

The 4th District meeting was held and we got through a lot of different things including discussing our fundraisers.  I don’t think I am going to the dinner this year.  ITs fairly expensive.

More of Mother's Day 2014

Mother’s Day is coming to an end for another year.  It was a quiet one for the most part.  I left here just around 9.  I woke Mom up long enough to tell her Liz was coming at 11 so I am guessing she stayed in bed for a while longer.
I had made a quick stop at Dunkin for an Oreo Coolatata (or what eve) and then headed to the nursing home.  Marni was there and doing some paper work.  I started setting up and drinking the coolatata.  WE played for an hour and even had a visit from the Lions Club president who was delivering the flowers.  She told me there was unrest within the pride.  Apparently Linda Gustafson is becoming unpopular (more than usual).
After Bingo I went to church and nearly fell asleep again.  I don’t know why I had coffee and the huge drink.  After church I headed home.
Rogier and Diane and Ethel came by for a short Mother’s Day visit with Mom.  They talked about the recent Broadway show they saw and more trips and things they were doing.  After they left we had a quiet afternoon.
Now I am going to have dinner…will be back later…

Mother's Day 2014

Here I am again  sitting at the  computer when I should be getting dressed for bingo.  I have been procrastinating a lot this morning.  I had my alarm set for 5:30.  I didn’t get up until may be 7.  I did however start some laundry.  Yay Me!

Mom is still asleep but I will let her sleep until I leave or what ever as Liz won’t be here until 11.  She is serving at the 10:00 mass and then she is coming to serve communion to Mom.  I believe she said she is bringing the kids.  I don’t know if that includes Sweet Baby James or not.  I Know she said he was there as of yesterday.

Well I am off!  Have a great one!

Already tired

It is not even 1:30 in the afternoon and I am already tired.  I got up early this morning to do stuff.  I had online banking and then went for my early morning haircut.  I was back here by 9:30 and a short time later out the door grocery shopping.

I actually went to three different places for stuff.  They were Costco, Stop and shop, and finally Shop_Rite.  It seemed like it took for ever.  I happily got everything and so hopefully we won’t have to go shopping for at least a few more days.

Anyway I will be leaving here in a little while to go to M&R for Mexican Train game.  It should be a lot of fun.  There should be 9 of us I think and we are going to order Chinese from the restaurant down the street.

I am hoping we finish by 8 or so that I can be home halfway early to say goodnight to Mom and start some of the laundry that continues to stare at me from the floor.  I have noticed that all the bath towels are in my laundry.

The weather

I woke up this morning to more rain and clouds.  It is supposed to move out by this afternoon I heard but it got me to thinking.  What we are having is (at least I think) normal for this time of year but everyone in the midwest is not having such a great weather week.    They are having Tornados, huge dust storms and lots of rain throughout the southern part of the country.  I just read there is snow in the mountains in the west..

Actually this is the kind of day that First lady Michelle Obama says is good to spend the afternoon in places such as The Mystic Aquarium.  They were awarded a medal for service at the White House this week.  It is part of the Libraries and Museums organization.  I have been there a number of times over the years.  The most recent was probably 2 years ago with my brother and his kids.  I would love to go back again.

Work was quiet  I spent most of the morning working on the re-address-junk mail piles until the mail arrived.  Lockbox was almost non-existent.  The final two rounds were light as well.  Sadly a co-worker lost her Mother and there is a collection going on for her.  

I found out this morning that the construction project across the street has been subject of a protest.  This is the first I have heard about and people I have spoken to didn’t even see them yesterday.  They are trying to preserve the history of New Haven.  This project has been ongoing for years (or seems like it has been)

Tonight we had pork and rice and I know I am going to suffer for it.  It was delicious but I have aches and pains.

Energetic Night

When I got home last night I found Mom at the stove cooking up some beans and reheating the chicken alfredo in one side of the kitchen and roasting a pork roast on the other.  She also managed to get another grocery list for Costco written and we had Liz pick  up today.

By the time dinner was over the energy had dissipated.  I could feel the salt from the hot dogs we had swell my hands up and my stomach felt “heavy”.  I had already pulled the garbage cans out front but the other stuff I waited to do.  Being very careful not to fall into the holes in the back and front yards.  

The workers connected the sewer and now we are waiting for city inspector to come look at it so that they cover it over.  When I talked with Neighbors Don and Pam they said they are already connected and working.  They are so excited to be able to do more than they used to.  I don’t think we have had to wait to do stuff.  Then again our septic tank has been serviced and replaced a couple of times.

Work went well managed to get the daily stuff done and worked on readdress mail.  Some positions were posted and emailed out to general public...good luck to all who post for the jobs.

Tonight I hope to do laundry and pay bills...

Big things Happening

Mom tells me we get connected to the new sewer system today.  I wasn’t sure when it was going to happen but its been in the works for a while now.  Kim and her family started getting connected probably earlier this and so did Don and his family.  Kim posted pictures earlier and she and her daughters were tearing up her side yard a couple of weeks back in preparation for it.  I really don’t know what the next step is.  Is there some sort of mechanism that turns it on?    All I know is we will start getting sewer bills.  Is it weird that I am looking forward to that?

Telka emailed us about dates for June meeting it looks like the girls have finals and need to study for them. She also asked about the picnic and I said any date but the weekend of June 21st as that’s the weekend of MIke and Ashley’s Wedding.  I can’t believe our meetings will be ending for the summer.  We still have the creative writing contest reception later this month and then our summer activities including the picnic and ice cream socials and a couple of fundraisers will take place in between everyone’s vacations.  Sadly we will be saying goodbye to some of the girls who are graduating this year and going off to college.  It is amazing how much they have grown while in the club.  I am sure we will keep in touch through Facebook.  Of course the girls who are still with us have an exciting adventure ahead of them and I look forward to watching them grow as well.

This past week VC Charlie sent out reminders about the Awards Dinner that is in the first week of June I believe.  It was basically  to get people to sell and buy tickets and to get people to pay for ads in the ad book we always have.  The ads you see in most programs such as “Congratulations to this year’s winners of the Young Democrat of the Year”.   They are also promotional ads for businesses etc.  I usually hate to solicit them because people don’t want to be affiliated with a political party and if they are the other political party.    The fundraising team also also sent out emails as well.  We have the monthly committee meetings coming up and I am just not ready for that one (as the minutes are MIA in my room).  We have several conventions coming up as well.  I am not a delegate to any of them and that is okay with me.  Of course in the summer we will have a tent for the OYster Festival.

The University is winding down the Academic year and all the colleges are finishing up their classes and getting ready for commencement in a couple of weeks.  I believe the reunions start just around then as well.   Then in mid may they will be sponsoring this year’s International Arts and Ideas  festival that will run from June 14th to June 28th.  I always keep saying I am going to go to these things and maybe make one or two (at least the free ones) at the most.  I don’t like coming back into the city once I leave it (usually).

The City of Milford and its residents are going to be celebrating the 375th Anniversary of Milford.  It also starts June 14th and runs until June 2015.  IT will begin with fireworks and then all sorts of things.  I may participate in a few of the activities this time.

Didn't want to get out of bed.

I really didn't want to get out of bed yesterday because I had a hard time sleeping..  I did manage to leave by 7:30 but I need to try and leave earlier.  Its beautiful again and the traffic wasn't bad either.

Work went pretty well.  The volume for lockbox surprisingly lower than usual for a Tuesday but it was made up with the Post office mail/Campus mail.  I had it all opened but not completely sorted or delivered.  I did manage to get one of the postage piles done and will do the other tomorrow.  All of it will be delivered hopefully early.

I went to Walgreen’s at Lunch and picked up some k-cups and supplies and brought them back to the office.  I have decided to at least try and cut back on buying my daily meals from the restaurant.   The food is good but expensive.  I just need to remember to bring sweetener and bowls.

I talked with Liz she said she would stop by later and say hi.  She was in the middle of gardening and having to do errands.

When I got home Mom and I had chicken alfredo for dinner and a visit from Rich.  He was in the neighborhood doing a job and wanted to stop by.  He looked great and stayed for a short while.

The rest of the night was just watching TV and now we are heading to bed.

Happy Cinco de Mayo

I hope all of you have been enjoying Cinco de Mayo Day.  Paula’s the resident restaurant in our office building had mostly Mexican food for meals today in honor of Cinco de Mayo and of course I had one of them.  I think that’s what’s causing my arm to be achy (the salt and whatever else is in it) I am pretty sure it was atmospheric conditions that can trigger that as well.  I have already taken meds for it and it seems to be feeling better now.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous. .  I got to enjoy it on the way in to work and to the office and on the way to my Dr. appointment afterwards.  The temperatures got to 69 degrees.  Actually itz supposed  to be in the sixties for the rest of the week except for one day.  I am going to try and get out and walk at least a couple of times.

Work went well and had no major glitches.  I hope the rest of the week goes the same way.  I would like to be able to say I could clear off my desk in time to do my vacation and be ready for when the renovations get to our end of the building but I am having doubts.  I don’t have time to clear out stuff or pack it up for however long it needs and I am really afraid there will be others who will have to do it.

I saw the hemotologist today and it looks like i will have to have another series of iron infusions.  He says he will know for sure in two weeks after he looks a the reports later this week.  It will be for the five weeks.

Tonights been a quiet night.  I had dinner and then went to bed.  Mom was sleeping when I got home.  

I am going there myself.

Finally got back to Sleep

I think I fell back to sleep sometime after 3 and had a great sleep and woke up around 7.  Surfed the net for a bit then went downstairs to get coffee and bring in the Sunday papers.  I made sure to tell Mom when she got up an while later that they came earlier.  Mom had mentioned a while back that the papers seem to be coming later.  I know they did  last week but other that hadn’t noticed.

I took off and headed to the Nursing home.  Unfortunately I got behind someone who was driving a classic car.  I couldn’t tell the year or real make or model all I know is he was going slow.  At least I didn’t have to follow him up to the highway.

I got to the nursing home some time before 9:30.  I chatted with Claudia who is a paraprofessional in the school system and we started to talk about the Maren Sanchez murder and all that encompassed.  Well we started to it was getting late and I needed to start bingo on time so we could finish on time.  As I mentioned there was a program starting at 11 am.  We ended up finishing earlier because of it.

We had a couple of new faces join us today and returning faces as Mike the young man from Fairfield Prep returned for the final days of his community service.  Bob M was there and it was great to see him.  He though I did good with the mini speeches and announcements.  Afterwards I headed back to the front to continue the conversations with Claudia unfortunately it caused me to be late for church.

Mass was good.  I sat in the Father Cronin Hall with many other parishioners who were good enough to show up on time.  I have to admit though I did fall asleep at one point.  I don’t know how I got so tired.

After church I headed towards Starbucks at the same time I called Dave and asked if we could possibly meet earlier than 1 as I didn’t want to hang around or go home for 30 minutes.  He agreed and met me shortly before 1. We spent the next hour or so catching up.  We talked about everything that could possibly be talked about.  It was a great time.

Jim called me while I was with Dave.  He couldn’t find Stop and Shop and wanted to get back to the house  and asked me to get rolls for the house.  So Dave and I finished our visit and I Headed to the store.

While I was at the store I picked up a few other things and then came home.  Mom and Jim were out back chatting about stuff and reading the paper.  They told me about the rest of their  day..  Liz had come with communion, Diane and Rogier came back with doughnuts and  now they had lunch.

Jim left around 3 and called when he got home safely Now it was time for him to appease princess pocono.

A rain shower passed through here around 4.  It was pouring. It didn’t last long and the sun came out.  Hence the term rain shower.  The clouds rolled back in but not enough to have another rain fall

I think I better go down and fold the sheets and then start the dishwasher again.  Its getting full again.  Man It seems like all we have been doing is filling up the garbage, filling up the dishwasher, and shopping again.  Will it ever slow down?

Meeting with Dave

It is after 2 in the morning and I just finished posting yesterday’s Family Day entry.  I was so tired that I didn’t finish it until about 10 minutes ago.  I think I actually fell asleep as soon as I put my head on the pillow.  I probably wouldn’t have gotten up to post if I hadn’t have to make a bathroom run either..  I am hoping to get back to sleep soon.

Starting today I have to start bingo at 10 am at the nursing home because there is a religious service starting at 11 every Sunday.  I guess the rumors of changes are coming to fruition.  That’s okay.  Change is bound to happen and if  Bingo has to be moved I don’t see why I can’t do it.  There has been no indication they don’t want me doing it but we will see.  They have not indicated to changing days or anything like that either so we will see.

I am meeting up with my friend Dave at Starbuck's a the mall.  At least I think it is at the mall.  There is another one in Orange.  This is going to be “catch up with each session that we have since don’t get together regularly because of our schedules.  He sent me a text on Thursday or Friday and asked if we could get together but I wanted to wait until Jim got here first.  So we made it for this afternoon instead.  We usually talk about our families, friends, and work and stuff like that.

I am not sure what the rest of the afternoon will bring.  I am sure we will have to think about dinner.  I know Liz is coming around 10 for communion and will stay for a short time.   I talked with her yesterday before dinner to make sure I reminded Mom.

My intention for the down time is to get the rest of my laundry done and get the car cleaned out.  May be I can suggest doing spaghetti for dinner and see if they are up for it.  We have so much freaking food in the house.  I don’t like focusing on the food either.

Oh and the knee seems to be feeling better.  I can at least bend it without yelping.  The same for my side.  The breath catching still is happening and then it hurts but I also can still have regular breathing too.

Family Day

Well the day started fairly quiet as usual.  The three of us spent the morning chatting and having coffee.  It was some time after 12 when DIane and Rogier stopped by for a visit.  THey shared with us their recent trip to Mexico and various other family stories from Memory lane.  It was a lot of fun.

After they left we all had a late lunch of sandwiches and then we made calls to two of my cousins across the country.  They were fairly short as one thing or another was happening (the phones were either dying or the connection was bad)

We all did our own thing for a couple of hours.  For me it was a nap as I didn’t sleep that well the night before.  I also caught part of the NCIS McGee Marathon and a few other shows.

WE had Chinese take out from China Pavilion in Orange.  It was pretty good.  There is a lot of rice leftover.

My knees have been uncooperative tonight so I think I am going to go to bed

Glad its Friday

I am glad it is Friday.  It seems like its been a long week between my health, and work I hope this weekend will be quiet and relaxing but I doubt it.

The pink eye has cleared up and so I can stop the drops.  I hope I never get that again.  I am wondering if that’s what I had when I got out of the hospital two years ago.    I am still having problems with the strength in my hands lately.   Sometimes I can’t hold things for very long or I have to use the other hand.  I seem to be able to type okay but up to a point I guess.  I am having a really hard time explaining this aren’t I? I also have a little bit hard time breathing.  I get pains on my lower side (different than before) and sometimes it hurts to breath.

Work is still good.  I finally caught up with the daily stuff.  I got all of the mail opened and stamped and delivered.  I did have a couple of late pieces that can go with Monday’s.    The postage tallies were completely done and the monthly reports were done too and delivered as well.    I think I messed up on some of the tallies with the calculator and I have to be a little more vigilant with them.  Renovations continue and it is getting closer to our end of the building.  I am so not ready to pack up my office.  I still have a lot of the re-address mail to go through as well.

Expecting My brother to arrive anytime soon.  He was supposed to come up last night but couldn’t,  He is going to need to be fed too.  He will be here for a couple of days.

We had sandwiches for dinner.  Mom asked me to stop at Stop and shop and get rolls and deli meats (turkey and ham) for sandwiches.  She had a hankering for sandwiches.

I got a message from Dave today.  He wanted to get together for coffee and have one of our famous catch up sessions.  I would have gone tonight but I wanted to make sure Mom wasn’t alone but he did offer Sunday afternoon so that’s what we will do.

I think I will go watch TV for a bit and then maybe do some laundry before the weekend starts.  I do have to finish clearing out the emails and filling up my  Journal files with various emails I have let build up.

A busy day

It was still raining when I got up yesterday.  The river out back looked more like a lake than what it really was.  It is now back to normal since the rain stopped and the sun came out earlier.   I think we are supposed to get more showers tonight.

I totally forgot until yesterdat that I have a dermatology appointment in town in the afternoon. During the five hour wake for Maren Sanchez.  I called home to remind Mom I would be home late.  I am taking into account the time it will take to get to through the center.  It actually wasn't so bad.  Lots of people in the center but traffic moved.   I made it home by 6 like I expected I had to stop and get some prescriptions.

I wasn't feeling good so I took a nap then I had soup that my sister brought over it was delicious.  After awhile the women folk went upstairs for a while.  I have to admit my arms and legs were not cooperating at all and I am anxious to get to bed.
