Mid Week Reflection

Last week we had Lee Ann’s Retirement dinner and a cake and gift and today on her final day we said goodbye to her.  As in the last few days she hasn’t had do much work.  She has been cleaning out her desk and taking things home since Friday.  I swore I would call her or chat with her online but I don’t do that now with any of my other former coworkers.
Just found out my super is going to be off until next Wednesday.  .
Last week for me was also filled with doctor appointments that took a long time and fusions that made me tired.  Still taking baby steps to getting to a full workout at the gym.
I also visited with an old family friend who recently lost his wife We spent about half hour talking about changes in our lives and what we do and it was quite nice.
I had to take the kitties to their dental cleaning this week and they did well.  Tiger had to have two teeth removed.  They are getting back to normal I believe.
This weekend I have a repairman coming to fix the dryer.  The rest of the weekend will be quiet.

Another Successful Trip

Yesterday was the trip to the vet’s and I think I am getting good with getting the kitties into their crates.  I put them in just after 5:30.  They gathered around my feet and the first one I put in was tiger.  I left her in the crate in the bathroom until I got Sky in.

Sky almost got away from until I had to grab his tail and then I grabbed his torso.  I got him in finally and kept talking with him.  It was still dark so i put them facing eaching other and they barely made a sound. This allowed me to get ready for the trip and for work.

We got there on time even with a side trip to DD.  I filled out some papers and turned them over to the tech.  I left and headed to the office.  Waited for their call.

The Vet called just around noon to say they were finished and both did well but Tiger had to have two teeth extracted.  A short time later I received these two pictures of them that I am dubbing Coneheads.

Luckily they were not wearing them when I picked them up but they sure where quiet while I got instructions for them.  They both couldn’t eat right away and it has to be even smaller than what they were used to.   Tiger had to have meds for the next two days and I bought some greenie pill pods (for $8 plus dollars!!!) of course I won’t have to use them until the next time.

The ride home was quiet as well.  When I got them home they were absolutely funny to watch.  They ran all around the house and and then in circles and then bumped into the cabinets and then starting to beg for food.

I was certain the anesthesia was wearing off as they seem to know how to get on and off counters, sofas, and beds.  They stayed downstairs for a long time in the kitchen, livingroom.  At one point I convinced myself that my coaxing them to come upstairs was working.
They were falling asleep and Tiger was allowing me to pet her head.  More than once she would move her head into my hand.  I am not sure they got up a few times during the night but by 4 or five this morning it was going back to our routine.

I will be bringing her back for a follow up on February 10.  That should be it until 2019 if I read it right.

No More rain for today

It looks like it stopped raining and is just cloudy and somewhat foggy.  The temperatures according to the weather reports are 47 degrees.  Not bad for a winter day.  It doesn’t look like we will get any more rain until Friday with snow showers.  Mostly cloudy this week with some sun on Thursday.  A year ago on this date it was 6 degrees cooler but cloudy.  This is why I like reading my earlier entries to see what I was doing this time last year or in past years.

I am glad to report that my headache is finally gone.  I took to Tylenol and after having something to eat it went away.  I hope it stays away now.  I do need to get some dinner very soon.  I will make some scrambled eggs and salad.  I really don’t want to go out for food again.

The kitties have been up nearly an hour now.  It started with them grooming each other and I guess I startled them and they sprinted downstairs.  They were waiting for me when I got there.  I think they wanted me to feed them but felt it was too early.  I will shortly It will be their last meal until tomorrow night.  Tiger is ambling around here I think she was kneading her nails into the bottom of the bed.  Sky is downstairs.

I think I am going to do more cross word puzzles and then go and fold some clothes.  Livia is coming tomorrow and I don’t want her to have to deal with it.

Rainy Sunday

Today is the kind of day you just want to stay in bed and sleep.  That’s pretty much what I did.  Once I got the cats fed and checked the litterboxes (fun) I went back to bed.  Turned the TV on, went back to sleep (the headache I got yesterday hasn’t gone yet).  Surfed the net.

I had made plans to go to Wal*mart to get the sweats since I didn’t see anything at Kohl’s yesterday in my size.  They didn’t have 2x.  They had everything but.  When I got to the salon a few other clients suggested Wal*Mart.  I had   every intention of going yesterday but on the way there I stopped at my Uncle’s house.

Yesterday was a good day though.  I got to the bank, and then to Kohl’s and Munson’s chocolates (I yearned for their truffles and I got a few those.  Then I went to the salon but she was running late and so I took a hike to the pet store next door and saw some beautiful pups.  After a while went back and chatted with others waiting for their salonists.  I didn’t get out of there until one.

I was driving down route one and decided to call my Uncle and we decided to visit.  I got there about 1:30 and we spent a half hour talking.  He had to go out.  We talked about the changes we had to make with a death of a loved one.  He did show me where he keeps my aunt’s remains.  It is sweet because he just talks with her every morning and says good night to her.  This is not a judgement.  It’s an observation.

I went home after that and by then it was three so I stopped at the Pizza place and got salads.  They were big.  So I ended up eating one.

The rest of the night I did some laundry and watched TV and did crossword puzzles.

Oh I heard from Liz.  As expected I got the half-hearted tongue lashing.  She did tell me I didn’t apologize and so I was apologizing while giggling.  As the conversation continued she didn’t really sleep well Friday into Saturday as Nelson has bronchitis.  He kept her up most of the night.  I hope after all she did yesterday she got some rest last night.  She has a few things to do today.

The kitties are currently at the foot of the bed sleeping.  I think I am getting the evil eye from sky.  He had been sleeping on the guest room bed for a short time after he had fallen asleep on my head and he started to slide off me and the bed.  I grabbed him so he wouldn’t fall so he took off.   He seems okay but I wanted to have him close by.  Besides I have to start preparing for the vet visit again tomorrow.

Talked with Jim this morning.  Showed him a cool picture of the kitties I had just taken.  I am trying to engage him into conversation and he doesn’t seem to be biting.

I decided not to go to bingo so I made sure I called the nursing home and left messages.  I am probably going to take it slow for now.  Finish the laundry straighten up here and there.

Woke my Sister up

It is never a good idea to butt dial your family.  They end up calling you five minutes later.  It was about 5:15 or so and I was waking up myself and decided to check emails and get rid of stuff because “space” was limited.  In doing so I accidently dialed my sister.  She called back twice. (Cell phone wonky).  I can probably expect a halfhearted tongue lashing when I see her next.  I explained everything was fine.  She went back to bed and I went and fed the cats.

I fed them made some coffee and then came back to bed and surfed the net and did some crosswords.  I took a nap.  Tiger has been sitting at my feet for a while now.  I have about an hour or two before going to the bank and getting my haircut.  I will then go to Kohl’s and get the sweat clothes and then go to the gym for a while.

Hey guess what?  I got a large envelope from Linden Hall School Alumnae office.  It looks like they are reactivating my status as class rep which means I have to hit my classmates up for money when needed or get them to write up class notes for publication.  The only problem is…I can’t remember all the names.   I probably can look on line or in my files.  Sigh.  I keep up with most of them via FB through the Linden Hall FB pages.  It looks like I have a lot of emails and updates to download. Sigh.  Earlier this month they sent updates on upcoming activities.

Just checked for Endicott recently got an Alumnae newsletter.  They are having several gatherings in the next few weeks one is to meet the newest Head coach in Boston for a meet and greet. They already sent the newsletter booklets that usually have notes on classmates.  Apparently they are doing well in sports.  There was also some news that they don’t shout about.

The google alerts I get for Southern, and Gateway are usually about sports.  The same with Foran HS and my Elementary school but I also chat with them a little bit more and check on the FB pages for them too.

Well it’s after 9:30 and I need to start getting ready for the activities Wish me luck.

Today's Temperature was

Today’s #365 day prompt was about the temperature and so I went with this because it was cold here.  It was in the 20’s when I left and it didn’t get any higher than the low 30’s.  It is supposed to get into the high 20’s overnight.  I was getting tired of it but would realize that when it is 90 degrees and humid I will be kvetching about that as well.  The rest of the weekend is supposed to be in the mid to high 40’s with some rain at the end of the weekend.

The last couple of days have been busy and long.  I had my lupus appointment with Dr. Sonia yesterday and it was long.  I was like five minutes late but she was even later.  I didn’t get in to see her until maybe 3.  The nurse did the triage (the questions, and the BP and weight).  I was happy to see I lost a few more pounds.  I suspect I gained them back later on in the evening.  Things are looking good.  I managed to get out of there and on to the next event for the evening.

Last night was LAS’s retirement dinner at Biagetti’s in West Haven.  I was among many who got there around 4:30.  Seating was at 5.  There were a lot of people.  There were many I knew and many I didn’t.  Some were her family and friends she has known forever.  We ate by 7 and so many were bitching about the service.  Many knew the service was lousy but agreed the food was good.  I had a good time if were not for the woman who sat with us.  It was my team leader LC.  She bitches about everything.  Where is the potatoes, where is the vegetables?  I couldn’t wait to get out of there.  I was home by 8 or so.  I was in bed by 9.  A friend has posted some pictures on my FB time line if you would like to see it.

Today we had the in-house retirement party for LAS and it was well attended but everyone noticed a few people who came late and didn’t give a speech.  It was her supervisor and manager.  Luckily EH stepped up and so did another team leader.

In the hours leading up to the reception and afterwards was filled with the mail and scanning, and mailing the refunds out.  We found out that our collections and Patient service teams that have been at Science Park for the last month are returning to their home over at West Campus.

I came home and relaxed and then I went and got dinner from the New Haven Pizza place.  I had got wings.  They were delicious.  I also had white birch and cream soda. J

I did check in with the sibs and they are fine.  They were eager to start their weekends I think.  Sadly my Nephew’s ex GF lost her fur baby today.  He was a beautiful shepherd.  She isn’t going into details but only that she had to put him down.

The church is having a Sock Hop tonight at their parish hall.  I was entertaining the idea of attending but I was too tired.  They have a trip to DC planned for the spring time.  I hope they get a great response.  I can’t go though.

Sky and tiger had their kibble tonight it was the stuff from this morning.  I had refrigerated it because they barely touched it this morning but I didn’t add to it.  They finished it but two hours later they were both crying for more.  I gave them a treat instead.  They took turns coming upstairs and now only Tiger is here.

This weekend is fairly routine.  I have a hair appointment late in the morning.  That will give me some time to high tail it over to Kohl’s and get some clothes and then go to the gym.  In the afternoon I will run some errands and then get some grocery shopping done and then dinner and tomorrow night write some letters.

Sunday as I mentioned will be rainy but still a good time in the morning to go to the gym.  I will do the bingo in the afternoon.  Get some more letters written.

Monday I have to take the kitties to the vet for their dental procedure.  I will get them into the crates as soon as I get up.  They will be pissed but I won’t worry about it.  I have to figure out how I am going to do it.

Well I am starting to get tired.  I will see you tomorrow….

Thankful Thursday

1.            I am thankful for my family warts and all.  My Niece in NY has the flu…welcome to the rest of the world honey.  I talked to my cousin in NJ.  He hadn’t been on FB for some time and I was concerned.  I had learned he had to move out of his house he grew up in.
2.            I am thankful for my kitties.  They have a dental procedure Monday.  They are getting used to the new feeding routine.
3.            I am thankful for my job.   Been Busy.  We have a retirement party for a coworker tonight and tomorrow.
4.            I am thankful for the Medical profession that keeps me on the road to good health.   I see the Lupus Doctor this afternoon.
5.            I am thankful for my neighbors:  They are well.
6.            I am thankful for my home.  Keeping up with it.
7.            I am thankful for my friends.  Heard from some of my friends this week.  Hope to find time to do letter writing.
8.            I am thankful for the organizations I belong to.  No movement on nominations committee meeting.  DTC is starting up again but I haven’t attended any meetings or fundraisers.  Conflicting commitments.
9             I am thankful for the weather.  The warm weather was nice earlier in the week then it got really cold and it is doing the bouncing ball.

10.         I am thankful for the men and women who choose to protect and serve their country and their citizens even at the worst possible times.

Still not a full work week

It still hasn’t been a full work week yet and I don’t think it will be until the first full week of February.  At least I don’t think it will be.  Between appointments for me and the cats I will not have worked a full week.

Today was focusing on the mail and the small pile of refunds that needed to be mailed out.  I managed to get it done by the time I left.  The Healthlogic Mail hadn’t arrived and I didn’t get the mail from downstairs but I suspect it will be waiting for me when I arrive tomorrow morning.

Today was my infusion and I left at 12:20 and I still managed to get to the infusion place by 10 of.  The route i take is straight through the city and into the next.  With all of the traffic signals and stop lights.  AFter checkin in (there was some staff changes and cross training going on) I went in.  Deana was just setting me up and I showed her my newest owie.  The papercut under my fingernail.  There was some question that i would be getting the infusion.  It turned out okay as long as I put Neosporin. I did when I got home.

The infusion took about two hours. I chatted with Deana and the another patient when they arrived.  We talked about Florida and our pets.  She has a large cock-a-poo.  I have to admit before the patient came I fell asleep. So I was glad she came in.

It was nearly three when I finished and I was hungry.  I was trying to decide if I was going to hang around Hamden or New haven to wait for my session with Courtney the Health Coach but decided to go home and have an early supper.  On the way home I called Courtney and told her i was tired (which I was) and had a headache (and I did) and that I needed to reschedule.

I was hankering for eggplant today so I stopped at East Shore Pizza and ordered a foot long eggplant parm and I got Foxon White Birch Soda.  I am still drinking it (it was a liter size).  I brought it home and ate it.

The kitties were sleeping on the couch when I arrived.  They usually take turns sleeping there at night but very rarely do it together until this week (twice).  They did their own thing while I ate dinner and watched TV.  They each came upstairs and stayed with me for short bursts of time.

I still didn’t get to the store or back to the gym to sign up but I will.  I was rather impressed on Sunday with Edge Fitness.  It is was a different feeling I had with LA Fitness.

Right now though I am starting to get tired again and I am srue I will be sleeping soon.

Tomorrow is another full day of work, appointments, and life celebrations....

January 23, 2018

My goal to get to work by 7 did not come to fruition.  Its okay because I got here by quarter of despite the rain and the darkness.  When i got here said my hello’s and got right to scanning.  I was pleased that I got a lot done with no problems.  I joked with AC when she came in that I hadn’t had any problems.  Of course we acknowledged the fact that the minute I said it we would have them.  Knock on wood it didn’t.

The regular US mail was light and the other was a regular big box and I wasn’t able to finish it but will in the morning.  I suspect i will be spending the morning working on the mail until my infusion.  STill have refund letters to do so I am hoping i can do it tomorrow.  I probably won’t be able to.

There is a collection going around for LT who had surgery last week.  SHe will be out for a while.  The deadline is until the end of the month.  I have known LT my entire 26 years at the University.  She was  there when I started at the Butler building (the office for pt services, insurance)  and we have had some really good laughs over the years and been through so much together.

I had my session with Debra this afternoon.  I had forgotten it was two weeks since actually saw each other but we had a phone session last week.  We talked about the weekend and my experiences with the gym search, finances in general. She did remind me that is okay to have quiet weekends.  We are supposed to meet next week.

I didn’t make it to the store  again.  As soon as I left Debra’s office I went to Chipotle's for dinner and then drove home.  I had my dinner here and settled in for the night.  Well There's always tomorrow or the weekend.  The rest of the week I have things right after work.  Appointments late in the afternoon.

The kitties seem to be getting the idea to eat quickly because their wet food was all but gone and the kibble was still left but I put it in the refrigerator until later.  Sometimes I doubt I am doing it right.  When I fed them last night I gave them kibble but later on they were crying for more so I gave them a few treats that seemed to do the trick.  I did call the vet today and their confirmed that the feeding is wet food in the morning and dry alone at night.  The Blood work came back fine so they do have their procedure next week. JOY.  Tiger is at the foot of the bed and Sky's somewhere.

As i drove home tonight I heard about the School shooting in Kentucky.  My heart and prayers for the families there.  I haven’t heard much about since then Not even online.

I am tired and I want to try and get to work earlier than I did today.

Going to bed early

Today was a pretty busy day.  I left here just about 7:20 and got to work fairly early.  I spent most of the morning scanning but I ran into a couple of snafus but got them fixed.  I didn’t get as much done as I wanted.  We are really behind on that and my hope and wish is to get to work earlier than I did today and get a jump on it.  The mail was rather normal for most of it.  We had a bigger box of Healthlogic then we usually have for Monday.  It is process to help healthcare providers manage their revenue cycles in a more organized way.  I get the documents (EOBs) and have to sort them.   I was able to get that done before I left.

I just realized this is the final week for LAS.  Friday is her last day and she will begin the next chapter of her life.  We will have a dinner for her Thursday night at Biagetti’s and then cake and gift (or what I call an in house party for her)

I had every intention of going to the store and pick up a few gym outfits but by the time I got home and had my dinner I was exhausted.  I am a kind of glad I didn’t go because something happened at the mall this afternoon just before I got home.  It was a fire at Sears.  I will do it after I see Debra tomorrow.

I stopped at Adams again for dinner.  This time I had beefaroni.  I also finished the chicken fried rice.  It filled me up but technically it was the second time I had pasta.  I had pesto pasta salad for lunch with fruit.

The kitties were waiting for me on the back of the sofa downstairs.  I think they were anxious for me to feed them.  This new routine for feeding is still a work in progress.  I did separate their locations and it seem to work but Tiger still didn’t finish all the kibble but I threw it out anyway.  One of them left a hairball though.

Sky was sitting on the stairs and meowed so I got up and called him to me and he came and he let me hold him for a bit.  This is actually the third time I have done this tonight.  I think I may have squeezed him and I think he may have yelped in a way.  This time he seemed to be content to stay there in my arms.

Tiger seems content on staying down there for a little bit longer.  I know she will be up later to sleep.  I do wish though she would eat more of her food.

Today was pretty nice it started with rain and by the end of the day it got much cooler and I suspect we will be getting more rain tonight.  They are expecting high winds I think.

A slow start

I was moving at a snail’s pace this morning.  I got up fed the cats and went and laid back down on the bed and watched TV and got on the computer.

I knew I had to get ready for the tour of the gym at 10 this morning and I was a little nervous. I looked at swimsuits for the pool.  Well it turned out to be a waste of time.

I am probably using the term fraudulent wrong here but I was quite upset to learn a few things about LA Fitness.  One their gym in Orange is closing in February.  There was no one there to give me a tour.  I signed up with “John F”.  The guy suggested it may have been in Hamden or the one in Milford.  I specifically picked that location and convenience.  There should have been a message on the website once it was posted that it was closing.

As I was getting ready to leave for the one at the Milford mall.  I called and talked with a woman. I explained the situation and when I told her I was supposed to have a tour with John F.  She said there was no one by that name!  I told her this is fraudulent.  I explained to her that I just drove to the orange site and found out it was closing and that I signed up on the website and total waste of time for me and them. I should have gotten some notification indicating the club was closing.  I was certainly not going to a club twelve miles away for tour of the place when there are two near me. I just checked on the webpage and everything is still there including the trainer’s name.

So I ended up going to the Edge Fitness Club.  It was overwhelming but Joey put to rest my fears and gave me a tour. I think the fact he reminded me of my Nephew Rob was what really sold me.  The prices seem reasonable and so as soon as I get some workout clothes I am going to join.

I was back here by 11 and did some more surfing and watching TV and had some of the chicken Fried rice.

Despite the bad experience at LA Fitness it was over shadowed by the site of an adult rabbit literally a foot away from me.  It was in the dried out flower bed and almost made a run for it but just stood there as I was talking to it.  It was also a beautiful day well into the mid 40’s.

I went to bingo today and it was pretty good.  Bob was there as was Cole.  He had been sick and had a funeral to attend so that’s why he wasn’t here in the last few weeks.  We had 16 to 18 residents playing the most we have had in a few weeks.

After Bingo I took a drive over to my friend T’s old house.  She asked me to see if they had moved in.  So that’s what I did.  The only thing I could see is that there were five cars in the driveway.  IT was weird being there as the whole area around there looked different.  When I told T about it later via text she explained that the street was widened and trees removed.

I decided to go to Adams for dinner and a snack.  Ribs and ice cream and sorbet.  They were all good.

I talked with Liz tonight about my adventures and my expectations and she was good to hear what she thought was good.

I have a feeling I will need to get a repair man for the dryer.  Clothes don’t seem to be drying all the way through and I have to put in another cycle.  The light doesn’t seem to go on all the time.  For now I will try and vacuum out the vent and see if that works.

For now though the kitties and I bid you good night.

Annual Vet Visit

I was very successful in getting the babes into their crates with little or no problems.  Although I had the collapsible one for Sky and he fell over and hit the coffee table.  So I stayed with him for a few minutes.  He had been vocal.   All the while Tiger saw this.  She started to get away and instead of grabbing her first I got the feces sample.  When I went to get her she was sniffing and standing with Sky.    She then headed to the stairs I kept calm (yay me) and then got some food she almost took it and then headed to the bedroom.  I got her when she hopped on the bed and carried her down to the shower stall.  Again yay me I just remained calm and held her then I closed the door and opened the shower door again put her in for a few minutes and then into the carrier.  She tried getting out.  I hope this one doesn’t open so easily.  She hasn’t been as vocal as Sky.

I had many concerns this morning such as will I be able to carry both out to the car without either of them getting dropped or the other comes apart.  Luckily I was.  Will I have problems getting them into the office and will I panic if the staff comes in and out of the exam rooms while they are loose? I didn’t on both counts.  They did pretty well.

We got home sometime after 10:30.  They are fine Sky is just over 14 lbs. and Tiger is 17 lbs. so guess who else is going on a diet.  The Vet recommended that I use Fancy feast and stay away from fishy stuff.  Great. ¼ of kibble and take it away if they don’t finish it at the meals.  Feed them twice a day.  I have to say it already hit a snag.  Sky knocked over a small container I had on a ledge outside my room and began noshing on it.  There is always tonight.  Tiger is one cranky kitty.  I found her hissing at Sky at least three times since we home.  For a while they were in opposite ends of the house and earlier they were sleeping at my feet on the bed.

Been chatting with Liz and Jim about it.  Jim told me what he gives kitten and how many times.  Liz and I moved the discussion from cats to humans and how we are both doing with it.

So Liz was telling me how she was doing overall.  She just had her chemo session yesterday and going very slow.  She and Nel going to an early dinner with Adam and his wife as they are leaving for a week in London for work.  The little ones will be with Olga’s Mom.  I want to go!  Liz was also telling me her tentative plans for South Carolina Trip near the end of the month.

She is hoping to go buy train to Salisbury SC where our Cousin will pick her up and take her to the kids’ house where she will spend about five days with them. This had to change a few times as their latest school break had changed because of the recent snow they had.  She will fly home after the five days.

I have a tour for LA Fitness in Orange at 10 am tomorrow with one of the staff members John.   Liz asked me a whole bunch of questions that I need to ask. I have a few of my own.  If I don’t like it there then I have the main one at the mall.

It was really warm today I believe it got into the high 40’s.  That in turn made a lot of the remaining snow mounds melt more and the roads wet.  Now it’s 41 degrees.  Today’s temperatures have managed to thaw out Oyster River out back.  Last week it was just like the Connecticut River and Housatonic River with all the Ice Jams.

The authorities and the news reports have repeatedly reminded everyone to not go out on to the river, or go to the swing bridge and a number of other safety concerns.  They have been flooding places like Chester, Haddam, Kent, and a number of places.  They had to bring in another Coast Guard cutter to break the ice in the Connecticut River.

I had Chinese food for dinner from the restaurant where Liz and Nelson got it from last Friday.  I got Sesame Chicken with broccoli and rice. I always forget they give you plain white rice to go with your meal and inevitably I get the fried rice.  I got chicken this time.  I will have it for dinner tomorrow.

For now the kitties and I getting ready to settle in for the night…

Another Week has ended

It is Friday night and the short week over.  Despite the short work week it was busy but not so that I couldn’t handle it..  It may have hit some snags here and there but they worked out.  I got to my appointments that I needed to (well not so much) I had to have a phone session with Debra when my Dentist appointment conflicted with her session.

I was caught up with the daily mail by today and made a huge dent in the readdress mail.  I hope to get it gone by next week.  I am running low on interoffice envelopes.  I believe we got some coming but I didn’t see any today.

I was able to get some scanning done.  I did about 40 batches.  They were of mixed amounts in each of the batches but it took some time to do it.

It was unusually cold in the office for the last two days.  It bothered even me.  I am not usually that cold.  I had to wrap a blanket around my shoulders.  That’s going to be a problem with the building maintenance me thinks.

Tonight I am taking it easy.  I have been watching the National Geographic Wild Channel.  The show is Wild Scotland.  It’s pretty good.  I do have a few things to do but I don’t feel like doing them.

The kitties are downstairs I think.  They have been given their kibble and their litterboxes checked.  I will have to start preparing for their visit with the vet tomorrow.  I was trying to get Tiger to check out the shower stall while I was there this morning and she sniffed as far as the door and took an about face.  Sky hasn’t caught on yet.  I tried and succeeded to pick Tiger up and hold her for a short time.  I am going to have to get the travel case into position early and may be have food in it for both of them.

Tomorrow is their visit with the vet.  I hope it won’t take long or be expensive.

Catching up

I was able to work on the readdress mail today as the Scanning system wide was down. I was afraid it was me but even AC couldn’t get on.  Late in the day it was working fine. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to do it.  I will be doing it after I finish the batch of the readdress mail.

Mail was light and I was able to get it done early.  I spent most of the day working the readdress mail.  I managed to get a lot done but still have more to do.    I hope tomorrow is equally as light as today.

The ride home was a little long as there seemed to be traffic the entire ride home.  I didn’t get home until 5 but that was okay because I was ordering dinner from Scribner's restaurant.

I decided earlier in the day that It would be scallops on risotto, vegetables, and salad and bread.  I didn’t have the salad but I did have the bread nd everything else.

Now I am just going to sit back and watch the NCIS marathon and then go to bed.  I am finding myself get tired..

The kitties are good..

Haven't Worked a full Week-yet

We are seventeen days into the New Year and I don’t think I have worked a full week yet.  Between holidays, doctor appointments, and weather situations.  It has just has been a full week.

Wednesday night I had my session with the Health coach and we made some goals for the week that included reducing the intake of red meat.  Those goals were met with some success as I lost three pounds since last week.  J

I was able to take Friday off as part of my long weekend and I pretty much spent it sleeping or watching TV and very little house related chores.

Friday night I had dinner with Liz and her daughter and husband and we had fun.  We did the annual DIa.com fashion show and then relaxed while the menfolk went to get stuff from Lowes, and or dinner.

I didn’t have bingo this week as there was a flu outbreak and quarantine for the weekend.  Boy it felt good not to have to go anywhere that day as it was pretty cold that day I think.  I spent a lot of time doing crossword puzzles.  At least 10 or more a day.

On Monday afternoon I did some errands basically picking up stuff from the Tailors and checking out a gym.

The Gym was on the other side of town and I realized it wouldn’t be beneficial for me to go there after work.  There is two that are definitely closer to me and work better for me in the long run.  I still have to look at those two but there is one more that is closer to work.

Tuesday I took a walk that ended up being over a mile and half.  It was partial exercise and partial the only way to get to the bank.  Parking was bad in this location.  That night I had a dentist appointment and it was from hell.  I looked like I went a couple of rounds with Mike Tyson.  I had dinner and fell asleep for a bit.

I still haven’t convened the nominating committee yet for the officer’s slate for the Ladies Guild.  I will have to call them tomorrow.   Really not looking forward to this.

I was relieved to find out the 4th District isn’t meeting this month.  Although I am pretty sure we are going to hear about it sometime in the near future.

Saturday is the trip to the vets for the babes’ annual checkup.  Looking forward to that with some trepidation.  Between rounding them up into the crates to hearing if they are overweight or not.

The weather has been crazy to say the least.  Early part of last week was in the 30’s and 40’s until the weekend.  Where the first half was in 50’s and the second half was in the low to mid 20’s. We had rain on Friday and sunshine for the rest of the weekend.  For the last couple of days it was cloudy and we had sleet for today.

Now I am going to watch the rest of the NCIS new to USA marathon (Season 14).

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
