Glad recess will be soon

The last couple of weeks I haven’t been feeling up to snuff.  My head felt like a balloon, sneezing, coughing.  A few times I was dizzy.

Last week my friend Troy who is admin/manager of another dept had made plans to have a holiday Breakfast Extravaganza.  When we handed out the flyers this week we had seven responses.5 or 6 said yes and a few said they were bringing something.  People had been critical at first; they wanted more.  So a few of them brought stuff.

Work officially is over on Thursday.  We will have until Jan 2 off.  Some years we have two weeks, some years like this year we don’t.  So I know it will go fast.

I have not done much in the line of gifts but as usual Liz suggested not doing anything for the Nelson/Rivera/Morgan family because they would not be gracious.  I still make contributions to a couple of charities.  I realize this is lame.

I just never know what to get anyone as the kids (under the age of 12) have everything.  As for the Adults meh.  Gifts for others not so sure about that.

It looks like my CHristmas Eve plans changed as it looks like CY is going out with Stephanie that night.  Actually I was really going all the way to Niantic for Christmas eve because of traffic and potential weather reports.

Christmas Day will be with Liz and Nelson despite the fact Liz will be recovering from a cold.  WE were supposed to have fish but it looks like it's going to be ham.  Not sure what else it will be.

Nephew Chris and Jen are in town, they were here on Hospice watch for Jen’s mom but as of right now she is still among the living.  Chris is currently in the VA from Cellulitis.  Will be here until after Christmas.  Not clear on where they will be spending the holiday.  Liz seems to think it will be Jen’s brother and his family.

Sadly we learned that Mike JR and Ashley lost their Boy twin.  He hadn’t been getting enough nutrients while in the womb.  The Girl twin is fine.  I wish I could hug them but it will have to be in my mind.

MY nephew Adam has informed the family that one of their kids has covid.  That’s gotta be a stressful time.  We will be avoiding that branch for now.

My niece Diane will be touring with into the woods show starting in January.  Not sure what the dates are.

My pulmonary appointment was rescheduled for Jan 3.  I am relieved because now I will be able to use the cpap.

Debra and could not meet for our final session of 2022.  She was sick.  She will be hopefully to have a great holiday

The weather for the end of the week is stormy.  No snow to speak off mostly rain.

Well I am going to bed

I can't believe its December

The Thanksgiving Holiday has come and gone.  I had a great time.  I arrived in Allentown around 8:30 and we got to visit before going to sleep.  The next few days are almost a blur now but we did walk 1 mile a day in the park across the street.  We had dinner just the three of us because her kids were previously engaged but Lauren did come on Friday for Dinner.

We mostly hung out that weekend.  Saturday afternoon my sister in-law and I went to Bethlehem for the Christkindlmarkt festival while Jim stayed home.  When we got home we had dinner and Jim had a meeting to go to.  I bonded some more with their cats until it was time to go to bed.  I also packed that night.

That Sunday I came home.  The weather wasn’t the greatest.  Traffic wasn’t too bad until I got to NY and further into Connecticut when it started backing up.  I did call my sister who was coming home from family activities themselves.  ON the way home I stopped at Mama Theresa’s and got pizza and managed to run into cousins I haven’t seen in years.

When I came home the cats were still in bed.  I looked in on them and kissed them and went to eat my dinner.  Sky came out and was expecting to eat.  I didn’t do much the rest of that night nor did I do much the next day.

I had taken Monday off as part of my long weekend.  I had planned on doing cleaning and stuff.  Instead I slept most of it and got some stuff done.

The rest of the week was filled with work, meetings, meetups, dinners with friends and a trip to NYC on Saturday.

The girls from the meetup (6 of us) met on the train early in the morning and got to NYC by 10 or 11.  We walked through GCS to see a holiday fair.  ABC Home Store used to be 4 floors but recently condensed.  There was an onsite restaurant for lunch.  We headed to Union Square farmers market and did some holiday shopping.  We also took a stroll through Nordstrom's and the ladies did some shopping.  I did look at boots but I wasn’t willing to spend $100.

This past week was pretty much the same thing.  I did get to see Liz and Nelson and was surprised at how much has gotten done with purging.  We had a nice visit.  I will be spending Christmas with them too.

Sadly, on December 5 there was a DV case near my old place and across the street from the church.  Her EX who had been targeting her came and killed her with an AX.  Her children were in the house.  The oldest was 18.

Lots Going on

First off an update on the trustee.  We heard from the new trustee a couple of weeks ago.  We all approved him to be temporary Trustee with the possible outcome to dissolve the trust because I can handle my own affairs.  We haven’t heard from him.  I am not sure how I feel about this.  He is submitting an application for temp trustee.. According to my sister he is not about the emotional part of the situation but the hard facts.

Still haven’t heard from the other lawyer LawyerBob#2.  The last I heard he was going to make a reapplication to the courts to get the accounting.  I am not holding my breath at all.  Neither am I going to go out of my way to call them.  Something tells me not getting any money after all.

Work has been good and busy.  I am now able to make time to get to the backlog of Denials that has been sitting on a desk.  I haven’t had any complaints so until I do I will try and do them daily.  Actually I got the sense SupervisorBob was disappointed and annoyed and I hate that feeling.

Local 33-Graduate students are now being recognized by Yale.  They have elections next week after the Thanksgiving recess.  In our own union there are some fights and issues that are coming up or are on the radar.

I went to my first HOA meeting last week regarding major projects coming up.  We have a final vote in January for the new budget.  There was a presentation made and I have a copy of the presentation that I am sending to Mama Roberta.  I will be sending it to the temp trustee if he wants it or not.  I will also send it to Liz and Jim.  We are probably going with the Save and spend later method that we have been doing for quite some time.

Carol in Unit 10 moved out last week and moved to Orange Assisted Living complex.  She called me the night before she was leaving to let me know.  It was very sweet.  I hope she will be happy there.

I had my first Ding Dong Ditch the week after Halloween.  I let the community know and they were not impressed.  I don’t foresee them doing anything about it really.  Unless it becomes a nuisance.

Jim and Janis are hosting Thanksgiving again this year.  I am leaving right after work.  I have asked Dave to watch the titans for me while I am gone.  I just have to feed them the night I leave.  I didn’t want to leave out food all day because it would be gone by dinner time.

Good News for Jim he is cancer free right now.  He will have to get tested again in a year (as it could come back again) but for now he is free of it all.

Janis is well and enjoying her job(s). They are very excited to have me come down.  I suspect and hope we will go to the Christkindlemarkt festival like we did last year.  I hope to get to see the kids during this holiday.

Liz and Nelson are still struggling with their health.  They are both finding it harder and harder to walk and have renewed the condo search.  She has been looking with some friends and showed them mine.  Her Doctors have reconsidered the use of medical Marijuana for her and the first time she used it she spent 9 hours in the hospital.  It was in cookie form. They apparently didn’t show her how much to take.  She had the whole cookie.  She said she had been struggling with the energy, pain, movement lately when she was having her infusion.

The rest of the family is doing well.  Miss Olivia was in a play last weekend and Grandma and Poppie went and saw it.  There was a celebration for my nephew Mike’s birthday.  Others took a holiday trip to Mickey Mouse.

I recently discovered that Angel Brother’s son Rob got married last year.  I had the opportunity to make friends and get acquainted with his wife Catherine.  I welcomed her to the family and told her I think of Rob often even though he has exiled himself from the family.

I haven’t seen my SIL EP but Liz did a few weeks ago and it was exhausting I am guessing but fun.

My Niece Diane and her husband did some traveling recently.  She had a long birthday celebration too.  I believe she is finished with Into the woods completely but I don’t know that for sure.

Earlier this month I fell in the shower.  I managed to puncture my lip and bruise my right side rib.  I took some time off after it happened.  I did go to urgent care on Election Night.  I got a tetanus shot.  For the most part it's almost healed.

There were some recent changes at DTC.  The secretary resigned and there is an interim secretary volunteering.  I don’t know the reasons but was informed of this through emails.  Chairman Justin Called me last week to update me on the Scholarship in Mom’s name.  Because it's been hard to get together we haven’t done any fundraising for it.  Which is usually our holiday gathering.  That’s coming up next month.

I had to miss the Ladies Guild meeting because of my fall but they have a few things coming up for the next several weeks.  Then we will have January, February off.  Start up again in March.

The meetups are going great.  Finding friends had a venue change this week because Shoreline will be closed.  The next event we have is December 3 to NY and the following weekend is our holiday party.

I haven’t done many other activities with the meetups though.

I wish

There is a group on Wordpress “we like cats” I think part of it is on Instagram.  I have been a member for a while now.  The owners and members share stories, and pictures of their furbabies.

Quote Often they will ask what breed they have in their possession and want people to answer them.  Time and time again they have been asked to stop asking the question.  I wish they would stop asking.

Quite often I have seen posts that say “this one or that walked into my life and from outside my door”..what should I do?  These are getting more and more frequent and if they just keep the animal without looking for their owner that to me is stealing someone’s pets.

Got my wish

If you have been following me regularly then you know I have often complained about LawyerBob, my trustee who my late mother picked to Look after me.  In the intervening years he became abusive in his powers.  Three years ago he started a campaign to get me out of my family home.  In the last two and half or three years we tried to get him off as my trustee and even my brother asked him to step down and he told him to take a leap.  He hasn’t been fulfilling any requests from us to provide financial accounting.  We have gotten another lawyer and he has been trying to get him to provide us with those records and preparing a motion for Probate to force him to appear and account.

Over the weekend I had received a piece of mail that wasn’t mine but I recognized the names.  I tried calling the sender but to no avail.  It was addressed to Lawyer Bob’s wife.  I thought maybe they were considering moving into my condo and evicting me (like he threatened me with in 2020).  My sister thought it was perhaps a legal document.  It wasn’t.

On Tuesday I discovered from a friend of mine that lawyerBob had passed away nearly a month ago.  No one had informed us of this.  I contacted my current lawyer and he informed me that someone else is stepping up and it should be better and he will reapply for a motion.

MY sister knows the new trustee and is going to speak with him next week. At first I agreed to it and but I am having second thoughts.

Some changes at work

Last week we learned that two of our Senior Leadership people have departed. They are COO and CAO.  One we barely saw if at all through monthly meetings and the CAO came in almost weekly.  We have been assured that’s the only change going on.  I had learned at the committee meeting on Wednesday, but various departments found out the week before.  By the time the week ended everyone knew.

The union is pushing the Local 33 action that’s happening this thursday.  I contacted my people at least twice (I am not going to take them by the hand and lead them there)..  The weekly SP committee was canceled because EV has a meeting with DR. McGovern.  I look forward to meeting her in person.

Tania finished working on the refunds that she was asked to work on and she finished the mail that arrived today and I finished most of Fridays.  I just have to scan stuff out and then I can work on the CD upload.

Yes I said CD upload.  Mustafa is out this week until tomorrow and his boss asked me to do them.  OF course GA asked me about (she thought she did something wrong and I explained to her that I was doing them because the boss asked me too. She said is it priority and I told her I arranged to do it in the afternoon after the mail is done.

AC came back this week.  She has been trying to catch up with things.  I am wondering when she is going to train TD on scanning.  I am just wondering but I realize it's not my job.  AC is planning on training TD on scanning as soon as she is given access to the necessary equipment.

On Thursday the 12th Guardian ANgel became Gargoyle. She was preparing for a huge meeting for finance and she was trying to help us.  Somehow (and I swear all I said was she is stressed out) she believed I was badmouthing her.  The others have said don’t worry about it.

Supervisor had to send me an email asking me not to wave at people while they are in Zoom.  Everyone saw me.  I have no idea what got into me.  He was forgiving, that's for sure.  He asked me if I would be needing help from Tania and I told him no.  She is trying to do a lot with refunds.

This Week was My Niece's 16th birthday

I have received multiple reminders that my teenage great niece Audrey turned 16 yesterday.   For those who are not familiar she is My sister’s Granddaughter Via Chris and Steph.   Her parents have been divorced quite some time. She is down in North Carolina with her extended family.  I chatted with her a short time ago until I realized she was still in School.

She is a wonderful little sister to her brother Jason, and wonderful Big Sister to both Sophie and Aiden (who is currently walking up a storm).  They belong to Chris and his current wife Jen.  Whom I love dearly.

According to her replies to me AM doesn’t have any plans for her birthday.  I can’t imagine her not getting a celebration but what do I know.  I have since learned from my sister that Audrey’s Mom and Step father are taking them (Jason’s birthday is in a few weeks) to Ireland.

I hope we get to see them sometime soon.  Maybe by the holidays I hope.  I still need to ask Liz about their next visit.

Some of my Florida Classmates from Live Oaks are planning a birthday party for those of us who hit 60 this year and it's going to be in Clearwater.  On March 11 2023.  I would love to go but I don’t think I can yet.

This afternoon I learned that a classmate of mine lost her brother.  THe  classmate was from Foran High.  Her Brother died unexpectedly in Woodbridge on Friday.  Honestly Joanne and I didn’t hang out in the same circles but probably had classes together.  I certainly didn’t know her brother.

Unfortunately Chairman Rosen sent out an email alerting us that another long time DTC member passed away last week.  Her name is Una and a friend of Mom’s for years.  I have seen her over the years a few times at the parties they mention in the obituary.

I spoke with Roberta on the way home from work today and she is in 90 degree weather.  She does avoid the strip most days if they can.  She expects to see her Daughter and Son in law in mid November.

Everyone in the family is doing well.

I have to miss the meetup for the ladies guild tonight.

Crazy end of September

Wednesday was crazy. First I was beating myself up for sending emails to the wrong people regarding some of the mail.  When it was time to leave for the day, I left here hoping to get to the Bank and realized it was already closed. So I went to the highway,  unfortunately I made some wrong turns and ended up getting on at Long wharf.  I did stop for gas on the way into Guilford.

I was early to Shoreline diner and settled in and had some tea.  Subsequently the others joined.  THere were about 12 or 15 of us.  We all got something different and had great conversations.  I got some advice regarding vacuum cleaners (recommended by the Petsitter who ended up coming for a short time).

We all left by 8:30 and headed home.  I usually call Mama but the phone had a low battery and I didn’t want to deal with that.   WHen I got home I looked at the link and ordered the vacuum cleaner.  IT should be here Monday.  I hope I won’t be disappointed.

The rest of the night I did some straightening and cleaning.  Then I got ready for bed.  Eventually the titans came to bed as well.  They were getting feisty with each other too and woke me at 4.

Thursday was a busy day.  Both TD and I worked a few different things (she was finishing the cash posting).  I did work on the healthlogic mail for the 26th until I had to leave for my OB appointment.

Friday was pretty much the same thing.  That night I came home to find my front stoop all decorated and a sandwich and Pumpkin inside the door from none other than Dave.  So after feeding the cats and eating the sandwich I chatted with Dave.

Saturday was pretty rainy and so I stayed close to home.  Well I did go to the laundromat and grocery shopping but the rest of the day I did a little cleaning.  I did hear from Liz who has another cold.  I wasn’t forthcoming with news of Jim’s impromptu visit.

Sunday I did some cleaning and counted the hours I would receive the new vacuum cleaner.  I slept some,  and then around 2 I got a call from Jim and we met at Panera Bread for lunch.  We had a good time.   We discussed Thanksgiving.  At first they teased and said they were  going to Ireland and I could take care of the cats.  In the end I will be getting to their house by 7 like last year.  Dinner from Wegmans the next day.

Liz did send me a coupon for Big Lots.  Then overnight she asked me about what year I graduated.  One of the FB pages for Woodmont listed all the various elementary schools in town and one was mine.

I went to bed early Sunday. All the things on TV were things I have seen a billion times.  I did get up a few times.  THe cats were nearby.

This morning I somehow misplaced the phone.  I heard it ding but I looked everywhere and couldn’t find it.  I will try again when I get home.

Early Night

On monday on my way home I stopped at Hungry Panda Chinese takeout place down the street.  It was about 30 plus dollars because I got the quart size of sweet and sour shrimp and 2 sodas.  It was good.  Although that night and Tuesday I was reading some mixed reviews.

I had my session with Debra but we had to move it to 6:15 because she had a previous meeting.  It looks like going forward we will be moving it to Tuesdays at 5 :30.  I did let her know that the second Tuesday I have the ladies guild.  But she will see if she can move the other  meeting earlier.

We had some issues with the Zoom but all I had to do is sign back in.  I really can’t wait to get my freaking laptop.  It won’t be for a while though.

I hit the sack at 8:30 that night and I slept pretty well with the CPAP machine.  That is until the titans decided they wanted to wrestle at 4 in the morning, again.   Tiger held her own. I think I was afraid I would get slashed or scratched from them.

Tuesday was not as busy as I would have liked it.  There didn’t seem to be as much mail and GA was doing a whole bunch of clearing out and TD (who is doing an awesome job) was being trained for the cash posting part of the job by Supervisor Bob.  We both worked on the bin mail that GA wanted to touch later but i keep remembering what she told me that It's up to me to decide to work on it.  TD has been doing that too.

AC hasn’t been in all week and she was supposed to be training TD on the scanning.  Last week, AC asked me or told me she would train TD so I haven’t gone into it much.  I told TD the documents we have batched and delivered will eventually end up in the scanning area.  IF AC doesn’t come in tomorrow.  I will show TD the claim forms and what I do there.

I did my daily texting with the groups.  Liz and Nelson have colds again.  So her plans for Tuesday night changed.

When I left the office yesterday I headed home.  I was sorely tempted to order out again and go look at vacuums but did neither.  I made salmon and onions and fed the cats and did laundry.  I didn’t even go walking.  I watched some TV and straightened up and then got ready for bed

The cats did their own thing.  Sky was vocalizing and I have no idea why.  He also has been pulling away from me  as well.  They got fed early this morning and will be fed late tonight.

I have the midweek Meetup tonight.  Gill had to change venues, we will be meeting at the diner starting tonight because it's been colder and getting darker earlier (last night sunset in Milford was at 6:40 pm).  I believe she is out of state right now so she asked a few to keep an eye out for newbies.

Plans for the halloween party are progressing wonderfully.  I will not be able to attend as the Ladies Guild auction is the same night. I see that Petsitter is planning a weekend thing in late November.

Sadly the walking Milford group is gone.  I just couldn’t see spending money for the group (if I took over the group).  I am sure Joan is disappointed but I just can’t do it.  Even Laurie B says it cost more than that.

I need to see the other groups I am a member of and make sure I don’t get removed for inactivity.

Tomorrow is the DTC. I got two emails, one from 5th District Chairman Alex and one from DTC Justin.  We are having Susan Brown from Purple Pantry Boxes speak to us on feeding the hungry in the city.

I guess that’s all the news I have and I still have claim forms to send out and a few other things while TD does the limited amount of mail again.

Been Back to work

I have been back to work since the 12th from my birthday vacation.  During that time Guardian Angel had  arranged my desks, and suggested with the blessings from my supervisor to do the mail in the huddle room.  Where I have more room.  Even now she thinks I should do the claims there.  I told her no.  She is still opening and getting the mail that came in buckets while I was away and it's almost done.

I also learned my first week back that Supervisor was able to hire a person and she started on Tuesday.  She has been excellent.  She learned very well.  She did some work today but had training for Epic and had the afternoon off.

Home stuff?  Well bills are getting paid and some are still there.  Still making a list of things to get repaired or replaced once the finances are completely eradicated. My credit rating is good too.  BuTTTTT made the mistake of telling Sis that one of the credit cards is still up there.  She made no comment but I imagine what she has been thinking.  She did ask if I have a financial advisor for when I retire and will I have enough money for retirement.

Community board meetings and general meetings have been held once a month during the week. Just got our first board meeting minutes this past week. Lots going on.

Neighbor Wise we lost Larry of Unit 14 last week he had been having issues. His funeral was this week. I found out via Legacy this week too.

Unit 10 is still planning on moving this time. I found out it was in Silverbrook which is an Orange. Carol told me herself.

Been attending the Wednesday night meetups and we have only a few more weeks before we move it to the diner in Guilford.  I will need to bring a heavy jacket with me so I won’t be cold.  Laurie B the original owner of the Finding friends had a happy hour at Stone bridge and it went well there were six of us.  A part of me is wondering if there will be a powerplay for the entire group now.  Laurie has said she only wants to do things in the Milford area since she lives there and doesn’t want to go traveling.  Gillion and the girls are planning lots of other activities soon.

I haven’t been attending any other Meetup Groups but I hope to change this soon.

The DTC and the city of Milford lost another member earlier this month His name was David Casey.  He was a dear friend over the years and a fellow Woodmont resident.  Ran into some old friends from Woman’s Club too.

The DTC is in full campaign mode and spent a couple of Saturdays doing things.  We have monthly meetings at the Elks club and of course our district meeting  has been held at Headquarters.

The Ladies Guild is going well.  Some of our activities have been moved up or back (I can never tell).  We had the welcome meeting earlier this month and it was lovely. I have returned to church services as well.  Well I have been once in two weeks.  This week I wasn't feeling well.

Health is meh.  Still trying to get BP down and it has been okay.  I had my infusion last week and this week I have various other appointments.

Family is good.   Sis and BIL are over their bronchitis.  They did get to see  their newest great   grandson.  He is a cute button.  The rest of their family is good.  THe grandkids old enough to go to school are getting in that routine.

Angel Brother’s family is good.  The Play INto the Woods has been extended until after the new Year.  So that means for now Diane is still working.  I have been promoting on Facebook to my friends and family.   Nephew John and Tiffany seem to be well.  Rob? I have no idea.  Their mother is keeping busy.

Jim and Janis are well.  He had cataract surgery and is recovering.  They have invited me to come for Thanksgiving this year.  They are in the Scheming phase of this plan so far.  So hoping to keep fingers crossed.

The cats are doing well.  Sky has been hiding or sleeping in the sofa recliner. THat notion scares me.  Tiger is doing well.

Labor Day Weekend

Well Labor Day 2022 is over and I am still on vacation.  Friday was a quiet day for doing some cleaning around the house.  My tooth was starting to bother me that day too.

Saturday was beautiful and I did walk with Mike Smith the candidate for representative of the 119.  We met at the headquarters and its a small headquarters and I will be surprise if many people could fit in that at once.  Anyway we waited for a few more people and and then Mike and I headed out to the Gulf Pond area of the city.  Beautiful homes and many pets.  We did this until 12 and then headed back to headquarters and then I went home.

Saturday afternoon was relaxing and did some more cleaning and then went grocery shopping that night.  Still trying to get healthy foods.  I went to Aldi's but couldn't get a few things.  I would later on in the weekend get them or at least few of them.

Sunday was coffee with Sis day.  We spent about an hour together and we talked about the family, how she is doing, and of course the Boat situation.  It went well.  After the visit I headed to the nursing home for bingo.

There were only six players and one left early.  He was fairly obnoxious.

Sunday night  I had to call the dentist because of my tooth.  It killed me.

Monday was a cloudy day I ran a few errands to the dollar tree store and Walmart to get a few things.  The rest of the day was quiet because the plans I made with Petsitter Stephanie fell through.  Her schedule kind of changed and she wouldn't be walking in Branford.  But she said we would do something sometime during the week.

I also spoke to Dave and we have plans to get together on Friday at Silver sands State Park.  We also are making tentative spa plans for the 16th.  In the mean time he was spending time with Jim and getting ready for work.

I also spoke to Cyn and we made plans to go to the Nike Outlet in Clinton for Saturday but need to confirm on Friday.

LauraG from the group and I are getting together Wednesday afternoon for a visit and lunch.  I am really excited about this.  I really wanted to show her the condo.

I heard from the dentist and I have an 11:30 appoint before I meetup with Laura.  It should take about an hour...x-rays and such.

Wednesday night I have a 5th District meeting at the HQ and hopefully it won't be long.

This week is already going by fast.

Birthday week

This week has been pretty good. Even though i worked Monday and Tuesday it was my first week of my vacation.

I was incredibly blessed by all the messages I received via text, FB and email and messenger.

I spent most of the day doing chores, and implementing my walking routine.  Early in the afternoon I had a visit from Dave and gave me a glam spa certificate.  He is or will book a facial for us.

The day ended with a fun party at the meetup at hamonassett park.  The ladies gave me two cards a cupcake cake and a Nike gift card.  Cyn offered to go with me and get new sneakers.  It was a large group this time and I am guessing it had do with the beach days are coming to an end for this year.

On the way home from the meetup I called Mama and we caught up with each.  Sister is the same..

When I came I notice an alert that my nephew sent a message.  It was a video of his daughter singing happy birthday.  He also wished me HB.

Thursday YMA had the virtual long term service program. I had planned on going to the office but changed my mind.

After the service it was back to the cleaning routine.  This time the bed room was done.   I still want to organize the closets but maybe leave that for next week.

For lunch made  salmon and salad.  I called a friend of mine DK.  Her husband is back in the hospital again.    I hope he comes through this.

Late in the afternoon I thought I had a hematology appointment but it's next month. Felt foolish.

The rest of the night quiet.  Did another walk.

Today finished the bathroom.  Just have the living room and kitchen floor to do.

May go to the library and check things out on the internet.  I have a feeling you  probably all are saying go have fun.    I will.

The Pedal Boat Cruise 8-29-22

So Sunday afternoon or evening I met my sister and her friend at her house and the three of us along with Nelson 3 drove to Milford Harbor to take a 2 hour cruise.  AT first we parked on the other side of where we were supposed to be.  We met Liz’s Friend there as well.  So we parked and walked towards the docks.  We took pictures.  I was watching the other group that was going on with us.

Soon it was time to get on the boat.  As we settled in, the larger group would be sitting around the pedal table, the rest of us sat in the back.  That’s when we were told that the pedal mechanism was broken and we would be running the engine.

So we left the harbor and made out into the sound.  We were supposed to be going around Charles’s Island but the water was choppy.  I didn’t think it was that bad but I am not necessarily a boater.  We rode around close to the shore and then had to head back in because they were having some issues with the engine.

So our two hour trip was cut by 45 minutes.  I learned from the first mate that they were starting to have problems with the engine a month ago.  They kept looking at it on the way back in and it finally died during our voyage.  I was cool about it but this was totally outrageous.

Later that night I saw a post from my friend Dave. He had taken a cruise the same night.  I thought it was after ours but it was before ours.  I had been trying to talk to him about it and told him what I thought of it all but he was on his way to work.

Quite frankly, even though I enjoyed the ride, It was incredibly dangerous and unprofessional for them to even have the boat in the water let alone have tours.  The minute they had trouble last month (they have only been running since June 22) they should have taken it out and had it repaired or gotten another boat.

They cut our trip short by 45 minutes and didn’t even bother to offer a partial refund that I know of.  I haven’t shared my feelings with Liz because I didn’t want to offend her but I hope she contacts them and gives them a piece of her mind.

Since the cruise was cut short We went to Sundae House and got some ice cream. I had the surprise to run into Shannan and Ben P (My old neighbors.)

Hi All

When I started this I was sitting working on mailing claim forms from work and have another hour of it.  There seemed to be a lot for a Friday. Work has been going well lately.   I am keeping up with the mail flow a little better.  Some days the volume is light and some days not so much.

More departments are returning to the building in hybrid mode.  THe communications dept for the university moved into the second floor this past spring/winter.  We barely see them but we have been getting their mail a little more.

The Union across the campus has just voted a large amount of money (I am not against it) to support Local 33 in their continuing bid to be recognized as a union.  My area team (the people I update on activities) didn’t show up to the meeting (it was via zoom).  I am frustrated and disappointed.  THese were not the only things we focus on the larger scale.  There are a few fights brewing but I don’t have all the info to understand and to explain it.

We had our monthly birthday lunch yesterday. It was for AC and myself and we had pizza and pie.  It was great.  I will be starting my vacation on my birthday so I won’t be here for nine days.

They haven’t hired anyone for backup to me, AC and another team because they don’t want to come in and work (they would rather work at home).  I am not worrying about it.  I will make sure my desk will be cleaned off enough so that I can work it all when I get back.  I am still expected to work during the Christmas Recess in December.

Home life is good. I paid my condo taxes. really stumbled as far as finances but I'm back on track. We had our first in person meet and greet at the clubhouse last week and it went very well.   It was well attended.  However there is one night will not be seeking out she's a b****.

Just found out my next door neighbor unit 10 is leaving and moving to senior housing here in town.  I feel like a horrible neighbor.

We are now having monthly Association meetings but they are on Tuesday at 10 am.  2nd Tuesdays.  The first one was two hours.  The only time I will be able to attend is vacation days or when I retire.

When I started this some time so I was all set to tell you I was fine but that changed this past week.  My BP has been really high and a concern for a few doctors.  I almost didn't have my infusion this past week but in the end I was.  Long story short I am currently on BP medicine and there hasn't been a huge change yet.  I even had to get a BP kit and am still trying to figure even with instructions how to do it.

I'm also set for a follow up with pcp and a very overdue physical. It's been two years since I saw him.

I have reintroduced the cpap machine into my life.  I have had it since June.  It's been good.

The cats are doing well.  No longer under VCA shoreline. Care. but with the original vet and they have been great.  Weaning Tiger off predinilsone.  She seems good.  Still limping, the vet feels she will be like this until the end of life.  Which is well into the future.

They have been surprising me in their choices in where they sleep and cuddle.  They still are picky about meals.

I had a visit from Jim and Janis in June and was very pleased with my home.  They were up for Jim's college reunion.  They went up for dinner and came back the same day. Janis and I went to Trader Joe's while Jim slept in.

Janis tells me the closest one is in the Philadelphia area.  So she was very excited to go.

All their kids are doing well.  Emily is settling in San Diego.

Angel brothers family is doing well.  Niece Diane has been performing into the woods.  She also earned a telly award.

John and his family move back down to the lower 48.  He is officially retired from the US Army.

Rob remains elusive as usual.

SIL Ethel keeps herself busy.  I only know this through Facebook.

Been enjoying the Finding friends group.  This summer.  We had picnics. The beach meetups. Sadly, GC and her husband lost their 17 year old  sphynx cat unexpectedly.

We have many activities coming up throughout the fall season.

I haven't done anything with Funtime friends this summer.  I backed off a couple of activities that I really wanted to attend but ended up being too much.

My friend Joan wants me to take over her Milford walking  group.  I did let her know I was interested.

Not sure if she heard me.

I had a visit from mama Roberta early in June.  She stayed with another friend but we got together a few times.  She was also pleased with the condo.

She has been doing some traveling coast to coast and to Alaska.

This weekend heard from Dr T.  Shared some pictures of husband with fur babies.

I haven't been too active with the DTC this summer but campaign season ramping up.  We have out campaign headquarters near chips automotive about 4 miles from here.

The ladies guild is having a welcome dinner on September 13.  Some of our activities have been moved up.  Still the spiritual reader.

There is a plan to put a high end car dealership where the old Hooters was on Boston post road.  I am Not that excited over that prospect.

PF Chang's restaurant is moving into the mall soon.

Now I think I better check my BP and hit the sack.

I am tired.

Hello everyone.  I know I have been among the missing and I am sorry.  I still do not have a computer at home, and I do not like using the phone to blog if I can help it.  I will let you know I am fine and keeping busy.  I promise to make an update soon.

My main reason for writing today is that I have been noticing many shelters and rescues in their ardor to bring to our attention the plight of abandoned and or surrendered pets.   AT least the ones I follow on FB.  I am so sick and tired of the shaming and guilt laying trips and the responses of the followers.  They have no right to decide who should or should not have a pet.  They do not know the circumstances.

Those who are in Rescues, or shelters should keep their opinions and judgements to themselves.  Do they realize how hard it may have been to give up their animals and didn’t want to deal with the judgements.  Whatever the reason is.  I am seriously thinking of unfollowing them.

Lost a Couple of Friends

I learned that a dear friend in the DTC passed away over the weekend.  His name was Marty.  He was an alderman in town and very well liked.  He has a wonderful wife too.

I am planning on going to the wake after my Doctors appointment tomorrow.  I hope I have a card in the card collection.

I am surprised that the leadership didn't send out an email blast to the members.

I had learned from the obituary but apparently his granddaughter posted it to Marty's Facebook.

Then at the guild meeting I learned about Virginia H.  I saw her monthly usually when we had meetings and in the last couple of years not as much.  I hope her wake is not at the same time as Marty.

I should have paid attention to President Pat last night. She did say it was yesterday.  The funeral services are today.

Been Busy Healthwise.

Last weekend I had my sleep study and apparently I slept a good period of time and did some dreaming.  The mask they chose pinched a little and at times made me claustrophobic.  I was out of there by 6 and home a short time later.  I have a follow up with Dr. Mike on the 26th.

As I said to my sister it looks like I will have a small mask.    I have a feeling I have had pretty good sleep since then, going to bed early but I also got up during the night to watch TV or take a bathroom break.

Last week I received approval for my latest Interim FMLA. It is covered until August of this year.  I have put in the dates I need it for so far and I expect when I go to my infusion on 3/’9/22 I will get some more..

I have my infusion tomorrow and then on Thursday I see the Hemotologist.  I will be leaving work early to get there by 4.  I hope he is pleased with the numbers.

This coming Sunday (March 13) I will be attending a hike meetup with the group I recently joined.  It's at the Racebrook Tract Loop.  I am looking forward to this because it's been a year and half since I went.  There are two more this month for this group.  Some next month as well.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any in the Hiking with Friends that I can go to for two reasons.  THey conflict with prior commitments and it's too far away .

I have been seeing Debra via Zoom.  I have also been in touch with her via email and text.  We won’t see each other next week but the following week we will be.

My stress level has lessened this week a little.  That could always change though

I have been taking my meds pretty routinely.  Keeping an eye on the foods I eat. Of course eating a 3 lb lamb roast may be stretching it a bit.

A new Baby coming in August

Liz’s Granddaughter-in-law Gina finally announced the impending birth of their baby in August.  She announced it on FB.  It was kinda corny but it did the job.  EVeryone is obviously excited but at the same time it is overshadowed by her FIL’s cancer diagnosis and treatment.  When I spoke to Nel on Monday it was a definite challenge.  He says My Niece Cheryl is going crazy or stressed.

So on Monday I saw Liz to drop off some money and she wasn’t there but like I said had a chance to chat with Nel.  He warned me that Liz has bronchitis.  She got it recently while doing the steroids, and having a major MS flareup.  When she isn’t feeling well her nitpicking gets worse.

This time it was about budgets (after telling her I was going to dinner with the new meetup group I joined-will tell you about that shortly).   Liz reminded me to be careful of going out to all the restaurants and spending money that I don’t have..  She also said we would go over the budget another time.  Um. no.  When she heard I would go to Shelton or some other place she asked if there were activities closer.  This annoyed me later.  She doesn’t have the right to tell me where I can go.  It's not her call. I told her it seems like it's to listen to bands mostly.  I can’t seem to tell her off is basically what I am saying.

I text Jim and Janis daily and they are fine.  No news on the kids much.  That tells me I need to get on the ball and send them all emails and see what they are up to.

My SIL Ethel must have recently done some traveling between the Philippines and here.  We found this out from her posts on FB.

Diane’s Husband recently had some procedure and did well and is back working and running his marathons again.  Again my source is from FB.  Apparently they did some local traveling as well.

Her Brother John celebrated his 39th birthday late last month with a retirement notification from the US Army starting in May of this year.  I can’t believe it. I can’t believe he is 39 and ready to retire from the Army.  I wonder what he iwll do.  I think I am going to give him a call.  Juist hope he answers.

I called Mama Roberta at the beginning of last week.  She had a chance to visit with her sister and have a meeting with the staff and as of now her sister will be able to go home with some assistance or at least wait for the paperwork to allow it.

She has two more weeks in FL and is visiting more friends and having friends meet her down there for dinner or lunch and visits.  She will go home for a couple of months and then make plans to visit the Northeast.

So I finally signed up for another meetup group.  It's based out of Norwalk and they do a lot of things.  Just like Gillion says  .  I was already signed up for a few things but had to back out of it because it was too much all at once.  I was also tired by the time I got home.  There are a few activities in Milford over the next few months but I would also like to go to other activities as well within the group.  I backed out of the dumpling dinner last night.  I see they have more things to do as well.  I may try the hike on Sunday morning.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
