Glad recess will be soon

The last couple of weeks I haven’t been feeling up to snuff.  My head felt like a balloon, sneezing, coughing.  A few times I was dizzy.

Last week my friend Troy who is admin/manager of another dept had made plans to have a holiday Breakfast Extravaganza.  When we handed out the flyers this week we had seven responses.5 or 6 said yes and a few said they were bringing something.  People had been critical at first; they wanted more.  So a few of them brought stuff.

Work officially is over on Thursday.  We will have until Jan 2 off.  Some years we have two weeks, some years like this year we don’t.  So I know it will go fast.

I have not done much in the line of gifts but as usual Liz suggested not doing anything for the Nelson/Rivera/Morgan family because they would not be gracious.  I still make contributions to a couple of charities.  I realize this is lame.

I just never know what to get anyone as the kids (under the age of 12) have everything.  As for the Adults meh.  Gifts for others not so sure about that.

It looks like my CHristmas Eve plans changed as it looks like CY is going out with Stephanie that night.  Actually I was really going all the way to Niantic for Christmas eve because of traffic and potential weather reports.

Christmas Day will be with Liz and Nelson despite the fact Liz will be recovering from a cold.  WE were supposed to have fish but it looks like it's going to be ham.  Not sure what else it will be.

Nephew Chris and Jen are in town, they were here on Hospice watch for Jen’s mom but as of right now she is still among the living.  Chris is currently in the VA from Cellulitis.  Will be here until after Christmas.  Not clear on where they will be spending the holiday.  Liz seems to think it will be Jen’s brother and his family.

Sadly we learned that Mike JR and Ashley lost their Boy twin.  He hadn’t been getting enough nutrients while in the womb.  The Girl twin is fine.  I wish I could hug them but it will have to be in my mind.

MY nephew Adam has informed the family that one of their kids has covid.  That’s gotta be a stressful time.  We will be avoiding that branch for now.

My niece Diane will be touring with into the woods show starting in January.  Not sure what the dates are.

My pulmonary appointment was rescheduled for Jan 3.  I am relieved because now I will be able to use the cpap.

Debra and could not meet for our final session of 2022.  She was sick.  She will be hopefully to have a great holiday

The weather for the end of the week is stormy.  No snow to speak off mostly rain.

Well I am going to bed

I can't believe its December

The Thanksgiving Holiday has come and gone.  I had a great time.  I arrived in Allentown around 8:30 and we got to visit before going to sleep.  The next few days are almost a blur now but we did walk 1 mile a day in the park across the street.  We had dinner just the three of us because her kids were previously engaged but Lauren did come on Friday for Dinner.

We mostly hung out that weekend.  Saturday afternoon my sister in-law and I went to Bethlehem for the Christkindlmarkt festival while Jim stayed home.  When we got home we had dinner and Jim had a meeting to go to.  I bonded some more with their cats until it was time to go to bed.  I also packed that night.

That Sunday I came home.  The weather wasn’t the greatest.  Traffic wasn’t too bad until I got to NY and further into Connecticut when it started backing up.  I did call my sister who was coming home from family activities themselves.  ON the way home I stopped at Mama Theresa’s and got pizza and managed to run into cousins I haven’t seen in years.

When I came home the cats were still in bed.  I looked in on them and kissed them and went to eat my dinner.  Sky came out and was expecting to eat.  I didn’t do much the rest of that night nor did I do much the next day.

I had taken Monday off as part of my long weekend.  I had planned on doing cleaning and stuff.  Instead I slept most of it and got some stuff done.

The rest of the week was filled with work, meetings, meetups, dinners with friends and a trip to NYC on Saturday.

The girls from the meetup (6 of us) met on the train early in the morning and got to NYC by 10 or 11.  We walked through GCS to see a holiday fair.  ABC Home Store used to be 4 floors but recently condensed.  There was an onsite restaurant for lunch.  We headed to Union Square farmers market and did some holiday shopping.  We also took a stroll through Nordstrom's and the ladies did some shopping.  I did look at boots but I wasn’t willing to spend $100.

This past week was pretty much the same thing.  I did get to see Liz and Nelson and was surprised at how much has gotten done with purging.  We had a nice visit.  I will be spending Christmas with them too.

Sadly, on December 5 there was a DV case near my old place and across the street from the church.  Her EX who had been targeting her came and killed her with an AX.  Her children were in the house.  The oldest was 18.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
