Another week and Another Day has come to an end

 

Today was a busy day.  At least it was to me.  I got to the office early even though people in CT do not know how to drive, walk or anything else.  At least three people crossed a few streets as I was turning.  Yes, I am aware that pedestrians have the right of way but what is the point of the crosswalk if they don’t use them, or they just keep walking or running?

The first thing I did when I got to work was chat with CS, then got coffee and then started on the claim forms.  That included filling the HFCA printer with the paper and claims.   As it took me an hour to do those and waited for a rep to get back to me with the ones I scanned to her. 

I also surfed the net, updated a few things.  I also called the Unclaimed property office, and they said they needed a copy of my social security card because the paper I gave them only gave the last four.  Later in the day I went searching for the SSA and found it and the procedure to get a card.  I had promised the unclaimed property office I would get it by next week but then I realized that it may take longer than that

I also worked on health logic.  That took me until maybe 10.  I sorted it and added to the batches to be work Then after that for the next several hours did scanning between the Refund Requests, very little correspondence, and the denials.  It lasted until 3 (it also included preparing the batches as well).

The last hour, I cleaned up the desks, updated my calendar and put in PTO requests in for the rest of September.  I also sent two emails out saying goodbye to those who retired.  I had only heard from one. 

I got home by quarter of five.  I chatted with a couple of neighbors and then came in and was greeted by my boy.  I sat down to relax and watch TV, and he hopped up and gave me love.  I finally fed him around 5.

For the last few hours, I ordered dinner from Mama Theresa’s Italian restaurant around the corner from my place.  Split my time between watching TV and surfing the net. 

LG in OS is coordinating with OG Paula about the beach activity for tomorrow afternoon.  I am thinking I will bring potato salad for us.  I don’t want to go empty handed.

I am going to surf the net and read some blogs and do some work before going to bed.

one More Day

 

There's one more day left until I take my vacation. Almost everything is done and whatever doesn't get done by tomorrow will either wait or Tanya or Annette will have to finish until I get back.

The computer issues that were up on Tuesday were fixed by this morning and everything is working just fine.

We had a brief committee meeting today. Our dinner plans for this weekend have changed for various reasons. So, we will not be meeting this weekend. We will see each other next week for regular committee and then at the picnic on the 14^th.  There is our rally on Sunday afternoon at 4IN Greenwich. EV will be picking me up after bingo that day and I will go up with her.

My Birthday Lunch/Dinner with AB, MA has also been moved to next Saturday.  Their schedules had completely changed from when we scheduled this earlier in the week.  I am glad we didn’t make reservations.  Just saying.

Oh, it seems Covid is rising on the campus again.  It was recommended that we wear masks when we can.  All the other precautions also have been listed and recommended as well.  The latest missive arrived today I believe.  I a am contemplating on wearing a mask in the office and when ever I am with Liz.One

My Rivera Clan all came home from their cruise with Covid.  They were supposed to start school today, but I doubt it.  I will ask Liz tomorrow.  Everyone else seemed fine.  Liz tells me she has bronchitis again.  She will also be monitoring for Covid.  If her Temp goes over 100, she was told to go to hospital.   In our conversation it was agreed that she just wanted to be left alone to sleep and rest.  I let her know that if she needed anything to call me and I would get it.  I won’t be visiting much during my vacation me thinks.

I have yet to call Internal Medicine for them to help me with the glucometer.  For lots of reasons.  I didn’t have time during the week, and they close by the time I get home.  Well maybe tonight they will have been open longer.  Maybe Saturday.  I am taking other meds but not always at the same time.  I know I need to get back to regular with them.

I see Dr. Yang next week.  She will be asking me about that too I am sure.  I am seeing Dr Sonia the following week.  The rest of the time I don’t have many appointments except the infusion.

The New England Regional Chapter of Linden Hall Alumnae has been revving up for the semester.  We are scheduling our next Luncheon and its in Boston.  I just can’t make it this month.  As I said to them via email maybe next time.  I did voice that I want to continue with the zoom meeting and chats.  Let’s hope they let me continue.         

Endicott College in Beverly is having their Homecoming and Reunion Weekend at the end of September.  I have gotten like 4 emails about it.  I just won’t be able to go yet.  I haven’t gone to any of the others either.  I never graduated from there anyway.

Well, that’s about all I have for tonight.  I am getting tired.

Don't ya just hate it?

 

On Sunday I started writing another entry.  I wrote about sleeping in, relaxing and then going to pick up Liz’s prescriptions and then having coffee with her.  Then I came home and showered.  Then some home I lost it.

I had a visit from Don and Spice.  They both came in and spicing walked around and made sky very uncomfortable. The hissed each other for a while staying in opposite sides of the rooms and then after that they went home.

I don't remember if I went to the grocery store before this or afterwards but I know it was late in the day. Got lots of cereal, fruit, more cheese, add milk and half and half.

 

After that came home fed sky, fed myself. We watch television and it worked on the computer. After that it was becoming a fuzz.

 

Yesterday being the first day of work I did my normal routine. Start getting tired. Got a lot of scanning done I think came home. Did a lot of snacking in preparation of the ladies Guild meeting.

The meeting was very nice and held at the president's home which is about 9 miles from here there's all kinds of things food orders we worked for two hours umm Yep coming calendar meeting that is to be held tonight I guess and then talked about the welcome dinner and the tickets. I will be selling tickets on the on the 8th with the president at St. Mary's.

The one thing that wasn't pleasing me with everybody talking over each other and I tried to talk few times and they wouldn't let me and I'm I'm not putting up with that **** again.

I got home a little after 9 and start getting ready for bed. Unfortunately i never went to sleep until 2:00 in the morning. Instead, I worked on the computer and cleaned out the utility closet. It looks much better than it did although it could have waited until probably tomorrow.

I did fall back to sleep when I got up this morning after filling the cat food. But was still extremely tired by the time I left for work.

Got to work and got my coffee. I learned that the printers were offline so we couldn't print and scan all the everything. By the end of the day I got worked on and still need more. So, I spent the time finishing yesterday's work. Doing some scanning. Worked with What should I take for half an hour.

At 4:00 I left the office and headed home. Took a different route then the merritt.  When I got home fed the cat fed myself. Got into my pajamas; and waited for Deborah to call.

It was not until 5:30 that I heard from Deborah. We had to cancel because her schedule got mixed up. So we will see each other next week.

Been watching television; and doing the crossword puzzles I used to have a long time ago on the computer.

I have a little more news to tell you family related, school related, but I will wait until tomorrow.

Busy Week

 As most of you know Connecticut was hit by flooding.  It hit several towns in the valley (Fairfield, New Haven County).  Southwest Area of the state.  There were deaths, destruction and I can imagine the emotional toll it was taking.    The pharmacist at my CVS had to shut the pharmacy down early to go and help his family.  Luckily Milford got substantial flooding but not here.  Probably along the beach.  Ever since the rain there hasn’t been any humidity.  It was mostly in  the 70’s during the day and 60’s at night.  As of Friday I turned the AC off and had the windows open.

The next time we are supposed to get rain is this coming thursday and then again on Wednesday and then on my Birthday.  Weeeee

Since Monday I have been getting to know my laptop.  It was a birthday/Christmas gift from Liz.  She told me about it Sunday.  She was telling me (I say telling me) how much it was above her budget.  That I need to be responsible, She wanted me to clear a spot on my desk.  I started that night.  In a phone call that Sunday night She acknowledged it was not her ‘business’.    I need to remind her to send me the insurance forms for the laptop.  The being responsible part was also referring to the fact I haven’t fixed the phone yet.

Work was pretty good.  RW, who I mistakenly thought quit, returned from her FMLA on monday.  She had surgery, and an accident and injured herself was recuperating and was supposed to come back in June.

I am making a lot of progress with the scanning.  All the “Patient correspondence has been scanned in and now just waiting for new stuff to arrive.  The Insurance updates are also done.  The denials are almost current.  The commercials I am working are from July and seem to be doing well.  The other Insurance carriers are very current.

The union marched in Solidarity with Local 217 at Omni hotel last weekend.  Despite the Deluge of Rain it was a huge turn out. Omni New Haven Hotel workers rally and march for new contract | fox61.com.  We have our rescheduled summer picnic in September.  

Of course we have other things coming up like probably the beginnings of our 2027 contract fight.  There are a lot of things coming up that we need to be vigilant on.  Job Security, Healthcare etc.

Management rolled out Daily Productivity tracking and EV has said they can do this because some people are taking advantage of working remotely.  She did assure us that people at the office don’t have to worry about it.  Even if the productivity is down or questioned they will be willing to retrain or whatever.

I start my annual Post Birthday Vacation in September.  It will be the ten days.  Made tentative plans with LG to get together.  I hope to do some meetups during the day which I doubt will happen but who knows.  I will do Doctor appointments and stuff like that.

I was supposed to start using the Glucometer and that’s a failure.  I did something wrong and I don’t know exactly what but instead of going back to the pharmacy I am going to call the doctor. Monday.  I should have done it Saturday.  I am taking the meds but I missed a couple of times.  Apparently the last tests said the kidney numbers were significantly better(the sugar levels).  I have my infusion on Wednesday.

So Family is doing okay.  Liz is keeping busy with PT, Exercise Class, her appointments and friends.  I will probably stop by this weekend and see what she is up to.  I am going to drop off the old Laptop so that Cousin Donna can take it and give it to a friend who can refurbish it.

The Rivera branch kids all start school at the end of the week.  Should be pretty exciting for them.  Pretty cool schedules I am imagining.  Of course the toddlers are in daycare or whatever.

Jim and Janis seem okay.  Dealing with Life on life’s terms.  I text them daily.  Sometimes they reply and sometimes like yesterday they didn’t respond.  I did kind of get nervous but if it was really bad then I would have heard something from them one way or another.

Angel Bro’s Daughter is teaching acting and stuff.  That’s good.  She had been posting a couple of days this week that she is doing this.

I had an opportunity to visit with my cousin Ray.  He was at Liz’s when I picked up the laptop. It felt pretty nice to chat with him for a half hour. 

Things in the association are good. Another condo unit went on the market two days ago.  For Sale: 150 Forest Rd Unit 7, Milford, CT 06461 | realtor.com®.  The turkeys have been around.

The ladies Guild starts up in September.  We have a kickoff party on MOnday at the president’s house at 6:30.  We have a lot to discuss apparently.  President Martha sent out the agenda and schedule for the year.  Later on I will pull out the notebook and get it organized.

Well it is getting late and I need to go to sleep.

I was all SEt 8-17-2024

 For weeks I have been wanting to do a particular chicken dish: spinach and artichoke dip chicken.   I have gotten all the ingredients  except one.  The artichoke hearts.  I finally got them Thursday. 

The chicken has been in the freezer and is now defrosting in the fridge. I am now so tired and afraid this is more than I expected to do that I want to put it off until tomorrow. 

In the mean time the two steaks left and the ground beef needs to be frozen. I had roast beef that I cooked last week that is still in the fridge and I have not been in the mood to freeze the rest or eat it.

I never did make the dish, and so now i will be cleaning out the refrigerator.  I just use what i have in the freezer until its empty and start all over again.

Well Well Well

 I couldn't sleep last night so I did some surfing.   Something told me to check my accounts.  So I did.   The knights org that created the scholarship in my brother in laws name finally cashed the check I sent them in May.  I was relieved been waiting awhile.

I remember Liz was getting anxious because people were asking about it a few weeks later. 

I don't understand why it takes so long.  I remember the Ladies Guild  finally cashed the check I wrote for my dinner choice and I ended up not going.  I was expecting a refund but I am guessing for things like that it can't be done.

There is one more check I am expecting.   That is for the retirement party for my admin.

Hopefully this won't make Too many  problems for me. 

Now I remember

 Now I remember what else was going on Saturday!  I got phone calls from Both Dr. Yang and Dr. Gordon Dole.  They told me my sugar levels are up and I need to get more blood work.  I also had to cut the sugars out and to call MY PC.  Dr. Yang changed up the meds.  I am taking a new one atovaquone 750 mg/5 mL suspension.  Commonly known as: MEPRON.  It's gross (like everything else) and messy.  I reduced the prednisone but I have a feeling I needed to wait a little longer.

I did call Internal Med Saturday and had to leave a message.  I got a call in the last couple of days.  They reminded me gently that prednisone is known to raise the sugar levels when using it long term.  THat’s how it is for now.  I am also going to have to get a monitor. 

 Liz Suggested that I look up a different one that they recommended.  To see if the insurance covers it.  I tried but couldn’t find anything on it in my benefits or programs.  I will have to keep trying.

I saw the cardiologist Wednesday.  He is pleased that the BP is down. He wants me to wear the compression socks (did one night) and raise my legs when I am lying down or whatever

I have to admit.  I have still been eating.  I had ice cream after the appointment.  ADding to the bagel and what ever else I had this week.  As I was leaving my meetup on Wednesday I (I hope) Diarrhea.  I had just had shrimp wrap and fries.  I gave up the rest of the fries before leaving.

I had the weird Leg cramps that night too.  I did everything to get rid of it.  Since then I have eaten bananas and made sure I drank water.

Saturday was my Brother's Anniversary

 It's been twelve years since my brother Bob passed.  My sister in law posted a Pic of them. As a memory.  It took me until the end of the day to make the connection.   I mentioned  it to both Liz and Jim.  They both realized it too

That day Liz and I went to STaples so that she could get her passport retaken because the earlier ones looked bad for her.  We spent about two hours there in between waiting for the girl, and getting the pictures taken and we looked at IPADS and laptops.

One of the first questions Liz had was “is this an impulse buy”.  My answer was no but I am not ready to get one just yet this is just looking to see what the prices are.  I would prefer a laptop over an IPad or tablet.  I still have to look the reviews up.  There are a couple of the laptops that are on Amazon.

When we finally got home we fixed the swing that had fallen over during the previous night’s weather event(very windy and rainy)

The rest of Saturday is becoming a blur.  Probably watched TV..  When NextDoor Don came home I spent time with them and then came home checked in on LauraG.

Sunday definitely is becoming a blur.  Talked with Jim Late in the day.  He has been cutting back on doing the driving but Janis Has picked it up.  HE tells me he has been falling at least a few times a week.  

I just recently found out that my cousin CArol (and DLH”s Sister) will be retiring to Greece next year with her husband.  The last I knew she was on Disability and HE was working.  Liz has never been fond of Carol and I know I have had my problems with her but we were younger then.

Yesterday was Nelson’s Birthday.  Liz and Rich went to an early dinner but they really didn’t enjoy it.  RIch is having problems swallowing these days and that’s not good.  For Liz it was a day of reflexiveness?

Heard from My sister

 I got a text from Liz the other day, asking me if I Was okay because she hadn’t heard from me..  I haven't text her since Monday.  After talking To both Mama R and Debra.  They both reminded me that even though she can have an opinion, she can't do anything Legally.  Anyway, I told her I was just busy at work, and that I am fine.  Told her about the Dr. Appointment yesterday.

I probably should have said something about Friday but as I said to both Debra and Roberta, If I say “this bothered me” or you said things I didn’t like etc.  That would give her reason to continue to do it.  I don’t want that.   I sent her one this morning, we talked about the weather, her activities, and Chris and his family.  His Daughter Sophie started First Grade this week.  I can’t believe it.

Things in Allentown seem to be okay.  There was some concern a couple of weeks ago between J&J and I am trying to stay out of that one.  Their weather is lots of rain and tornadoes.  

Everyone else is doing fine. AGain I Will find out when I actually talk with Liz. I am pretty sure the Rivera/Maratea grands and great grands go back to school in a couple of weeks.

Work has been busy for me.  Trying to get more scanning and time management done.  I thought I was doing pretty well but GA was riding my butt for the last few days since she returned from vacation made me feel as though I wasn’t.  BEfore you ask, no she is not my supervisor or boss.  She has repeatedly told me that i don’t answer to her nor does she answer to me.  

The annual Union Picnic had to be rescheduled from last week to sometime in September.  It was due to the weather.  I plan on going.  The Science park committee is having a Tipsy tomato Lunch on My birthday.  There are a few other things coming up as well.

Condo life is good.  President Frank C.  had covid and was hospitalized for a few days and then stayed away from people most of the following  week.  Next Door Don is coming home Friday.  He texted several times to show where he was at different points of his trip.  The Board meeting is next week.

Spent time with the girls from Finding friends.  Our weekly Wednesday night was held at the diner because of the rain. PRior to that we have been at the Madison Beach Club and its been beautiful.  I don’t think we have a major activity coming up yet but a few of the girls got together to see the theater.  FH was in an accident and had to get a new Car.

Other than the emotional and mental health the physical has been pretty good.  The BP has been low and the protein level is lowering.  Still taking the meds.  I haven’t been using the CPAP machine.  I do have a cardiologist appointment next week and the infusion at the end of the month.

The weather is  supposed  to be bad tonight.  Remnants of Debby.ITs humid out and windy and the sun comes in and out but later today and into  tonight there is more rain and storms coming.  The rest of the weekend is supposed to be nice.  We did have a lot of rain this week.

I can't believe it

 Yesterday I ran into lawyer.Jeff at the nursing home.  I Shared with him some of the . Challenges I have with my sister.  The whole thing tries to be my mother instead o my f sister.  Trying to see my finances.  I tell her no.  He reassured me I have that right.  She was talking about the money in the trust.

Anyway without getting into the tear towns and the constant head games she pulls on me he reminded me that she is trying to look  out for me.  I saw okay if you say so. I really get tired of people  telling  me that.

Actually I mentioned something she has said to me.  He did say he wasn't  worried.   He doesn't  talk to her often but if she does he would tell I am not going into the trust 

What prompted this was a discussion about the water heater and the taxes.  She was getting critical of when I paid the taxes and what will be needed when the time comes for the water heater to be replaced (in two years).  

I haven’t heard from her all weekend and I am hoping its because she was busy with Olivia.  IF its because she is pissed at me for not doing things her way.  Then fluff it.
