Jeans Day

This is becoming my favorite day of the week.  It's the day we can wear jeans to work.  It is a day to be comfortable but still be functionable and get work done.  Today it may have been a little too comfortable as I found my falling asleep a number of times at my desk.  Today was a little bit of mail and the rest of the day was scanning.  It went pretty well with a few glitches.  I have put in my time for my appointments for July.  I have taken all of Wednesday off and that will be explained in a moment.

I went to the food court outside the hospital for lunch and got some chinese food.  It was pretty good.  THere was a concert in the courtyard next door.  It was great listening to the music.  It has been a long time since I saw those there.

I have to admit I am still not feeling completely well.  I had my dental checkup yesterday and it looks like i am having a root canal done next wednesday..  It hadn’t been hurting for the last few days until they began to poke and prod it.  Honestly it is affecting my jaw now and now my head hurts when I look to the right.  I have a feeling it's a little more than that but I also still have a leftover cough.  I will have the Rheumatologist look at it next week.

I got a reply of sorts from Neighbor Don regarding Floyd being in the driveway.  He actually sent me a link to a house up for sale.  It's the hockey player next door!  So many things are going through my head as to why he is moving.  Could they hear me yelling or screaming ( I do that quite often to release tension),  have I not been careful getting in and out of the shower (bathroom is literally in the kitchen and probably visible in the window) or could it be the big huge neanderthal sign promoting the fortune teller (seer) across the street?  I don’t know.  At the same time I am thinking I can do whatever i want in my own home and if the neighbors don’t like it then too bad.

The kitties are quiet tonight.  Sky is currently under the chair in the livingroom and Tiger is under a dining room chair.  I expect that very soon when the living room light goes out Sky will either lie on my legs like he has for the last few nights or on the sofa cushion above me.  Tiger might sleep on my lap depending the thunder claps for the night or she will sleep in the back room or stay in the dining room.  For the last couple of morning I have yelled at sky as he has been clawing my toes and feet while I have them under the blanket.  Its an old comforter that is losing its down filler.  If he keeps doing it he will be flying around the house without a parachute.

Tomorrow is the Memorial Service for Rah and I am expecting Jim to come up and pick me up in time for this thing.  Its from 10-12 but it's one of those events that allows people to show up late.  I don’t get it. Why would you think it's okay to show up for service late?  I can understand if its traffic related or no place to park (and I that’s why I am expecting for tomorrow) but nothing else should make you late.

I love my neighbors.  I had sent them an email yesterday afternoon letting them know my cousin’s boat would be in the driveway.   THey apparently didn’t see them until I got home.  I explained what happened and they were joking that I decided to get a new boat.  THey seemed okay with it.  As long as the boat was out of here by the weekend.    It is supposed to according to my cousin.  You also may heard of Floyd.  Joe is phenomenal artist and is really a great guy.

I will be seeing Joe on Saturday when we gather to celebrate Rah’s life.  I will in hope get to see the rest of my cousins that are around the country.  I know I will meet up with Sis and if my brother comes in at a decent hour I will be riding up with him Saturday.

The weather here has been either raining, or sunny.  Temperatures are nice during the day and cooler in the evening and early morning.  Watching the news last night was horrifying.  The fires, the tornadoes in other places...scary.

The house is beautiful.  It was the week the cleaning lady came and that was earlier this week.  My hope is to keep it decent.  There are some things that still need working on but I can do it.

It may be beautiful

When I left the house it was absolutely beautiful but when I got into the office it's like an icebox. Team leader Lauren and Supervisor Bob are in the middle of it.  Both of their offices exhume cold air and it seems to come out into the aisle.

Today is pretty much the same thing i did yesterday...refunds, and the mail.my hope is to finish the refund pile that I have here by the end of the day if not I will do it before scanning tomorrow.

Last week was the final activity for the Ladies Guild for the summer.  I am really missing it right now but look forward to the next season including the Nominations committee.   I have had some say start it in September others say March...this maybe one of those “conflicts between the clicks.

We had some conflict in the DTC 4th committee meeting on Friday night and hopefully it will be resolved by the next meeting both with information and decisions revoked.  I believe some of the conflict will never end when it comes to personalities and goals.  I still have to finish the minutes to give to members by tomorrow.

My cold I had been fighting all week finally kicked my but so I came home on Thursday and stayed home on Friday and did as much sleeping as possible.  I thought I was feeling better but some moments make me think otherwise.

We lost my cousin to Cancer this past weekend.  He was 73 and by all the messages on his own FB page and the condolences on mine he will be missed.  Memorial Service this Saturday.

Dreary start to the day

The day started out dark and dreary but by mid morning the sun shined and the temps rose.   It remained like this until 7 when thunderstorms flew in.  There were not many clapping thunder and just a little rain but I could see the sun at different vantage points.

The first few hours of the work day was spent on the re-address mail and the daily mail dispersed in between and then before lunch i started the refund batch to be notated and mailed.  I won’t get to mail them all out until they have all had notations on them.  I Hope to have them done before Thursday.

Chairman Phil emailed me today apologizing for messing up on the appointed time but his previous appointment took longer than he expected.  He had a fundraiser (for State Comptroller and Future Candidate for Governor Kevin Lembo so he said it got rained out (and it hasn’t) he would call me.  At this rate I will just have to hand it to him on Thursday.

I stopped at the post office today and found someone else’s mail in my box.  Someone must have been in a hurry. I returned it and came home to find junk mail and ads.  Yesterday I got my tax bills to pay to the city.  I will take care of that in the next two days.

Laptop started to act up again and is rebooting.  I would like to give it the boot myself.  Admittedly it is almost three years old.  My sister and I bought it before she came home from the nursing home when she broke her hip.  The PC in the bedroom is slow and annoying.

I had lamb chops for dinner with baked potato.  I had butter and shredded cheese on and later finished the bag of shredded cheese.  I had some oj and dove candies.  Earlier today I had a salad (Cobb) and orange soda.  I Had coffee and 2 jellie beans.

Now I am going to have some tea and go to bed.

A cool Sunday Morning

I woke up early Sunday morning thanks to the wonder twins.  They were meowing very early and I normally ignore them but I was sleeping on the couch this morning so that made it more intense.  The sun was just rising around 5:30 and made it pretty the temperatures had  risen to low 70’s by the end of the morning.

It was just about then the laptop was acting wonky and I changed over to the pc.  It was slow and I had to change the ink a couple of times.  I have a feeling I probably wasted a lot of it-again.  Anyway I printed out a pen pal letter and the dtc new member notifications for Chairman Phil to sign and take with him tomorrow.  By the end of the day both were working again.

I got ready for bingo and headed out by 1:30.  I arrived and found the dining room empty so I checked the recreation room and saw Natalie.  I should not have been surprised as it is the end of the month and usually the last weekend she is there for paperwork and activities.  Bob was there as well.  He was gathering the residents.  WE had 12 and it went pretty well.  While we were playing the weather changed dramatically.  It went from very sunny to cloudy in the matter of minutes.  By the time I left it was starting to rain.

I stopped at Mama Teresa’s around the corner from the Nursing home and got take out.  Shrimp Scampi.  I was in the mood for spaghetti and shrimp but not in the mood to make it at home.  I haven’t been doing much cooking since I came home from Florida except for the steak on Saturday.  The occasional lamb burgers.  EVerything else has been take out or from Adams.

After I had dinner I got online and got an email second to last update on my cousin RAH.  As the hours passed many had posted to his facebook page.  Many were from his friends and many of his students over the years.  He always had a smile on his face and great story to tell.  He would always come to our grandmother’s house on Sunday for brunch and talk about life, family, and travels.  Travel they did that a lot over the years too.  I remember months before my mother died RAH came dressed up as the Easter Bunny for Easter.  It made her smile.  It made me smile.

I had checked in with both my sister and brother.  I didn’t hear from Liz until after I got to bed.  I sent text messages to my brother.  He was sadden by the news.  He may come up for it but as of right now not sure.

Today was a long day.  I had almost three days worth of mail to do.  Happily I got that all done but  I still have a lot of readdress mail to work on.  I wasn’t able to get to any scanning but I don’t usually do that much on Monday. I also didn’t work on refunds other.  I am hoping I will be able to work on at least most of that stuff tomorrow.  I felt like an idiot when I was told I didn’t approve last week’s timecard.  I did this weeks!

I made arrangements to meet Chairman Phil to give him the papers he needs to sign  but it didn’t work because I thought we would meet at 5 at the grocery store parking lot.  He didn’t show up.  I wasn’t hanging around as my voice was waning and I was getting tired.

The cleaning lady is coming tomorrow.  I sent her a message this morning and she let me know tomorrow.  I am glad she decided to come tomorrow I wasn’t really up to getting things ready for her.

I am going to do some crosswords and then get ready for bed.  

I would have been pissed

Yesterday would have been a bad day if my computer's decided to bail on me.... The laptop acted wonky and I turned it off and had to reboot it.  I have a feeling it was doing a few updates.  If it didn’t work itself out in time for the meeting last night I would have been really out of sorts.  I can’t write and take notes well by hand Luckily by the time I was ready to go they were both working. One of the problems is ink for the PC in the bedroom.  I will have to get some this weekend.

The meeting went fine until the end when had to vote in a third new member and review candidates intentions to run for office.  Especially when one has not been actively involved enough for some members.  As a result one committee  member has announced she is resigning because of others manipulation and bullying.  The meeting ended just about 10 but I stayed until 11 to discuss the events and to convince the person to not resign.  Hopefully she won’t and things will get better.  Aw crap she just sent the email resigning. She has two responses already to the email (I was one of them).  Earlier this afternoon I received a phone call from a committee member (eco girl) wanting to ask me about last night.  I don’t really want to get into it with her.

I did send committee chairman an email to update the member list and make it as accurate as possible.  I have to add the three people's names that we voted on.  I called Phil after hearing the message and talked with him about it.  The gist of it was ask her to call him.  

Landlord Maria’s house is busy with workers updating and renovating and movers all weekend.  On Friday I saw People on the roof, people moving stuff in, and this morning a truck just delivered something.

I got a text from J last night it seems he may not stop here after all tonight.  He says he will call later to let me know but he is thinking of driving right through from New Hampshire (where he visited our cousins) to home.  Really?  I don’t think that’s wise but it's his decision.  Especially after he asked me in May if he could do this.  He called me around 1 and left a message and apologized for wavering on this but he may not be stopping by.  I still think it's a bad idea.

We had rain this morning but it stopped around 9 and the sun came out .  It got humid .  The really funny thing is as I was heading to Orange it got cloudy and poured for about 10 minutes and by the time I was finished at the bank it was over with.

My peapod delivery arrived just about 10 and I got everything.  I have already taken the AIRBORNE, crystal light, and steak, and a little OJ.  I put away everything and as soon as i could.

I had a nice time at the salon.  Before I went in I stopped by the pet store and saw the new puppies and they are adorable.  Some are new from my last visit.  I can’t begin to go through the list of breeds.  I wanted to take them home but Sky and Tiger would object fiercely.

When I made my way over to the salon Karen and Kathy were the only people and there were three or four customers.  The receptionist Mary Ann was in Florida closing on a house.  I later found out she will be moving down there with her husband.  Karen is going to have an anniversary and farewell party for MaryAnn at a later date.

OMG...have you see the dominos commercial paying homage to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off?  Did you see who is driving the delivery car?  The actor who played Cameron in the original movie!!!  I didn’t realize that!!!

I am so tired that I don’t want to do anything else but watch NCIS marathon.  At this point i don’t think Jim will be coming so any cleaning I planned on doing is going to wait.

Staying home today

I decided to call in sick this morning.  Even though I feel a little better I think this morning will be sleeping in.  I sound like I still have a cold.  The nap yesterday did some good but not enough.  I called my team lead and she agreed that I stay home.

 

The installation last night went really well.  I got to see people that haven’t been able to attend and we had guests (such as the deacons, and of course Father Aiden) and the food was delicious.  Cheese and crackers to begin with then a buffet and chocolate cake with lots of blue frosting on it.  Most everyone at my table had a blue lips.  Some of us more than others (Not me).  It was finished by 8 (which was a relief because I really didn’t want to be out late).  We are done for the summer and will start up again in August or September.  I have flowers that I got in the refrigerator and will put them in a vase.

 

I do have some things to do before the weekend starts like emptying the dishwasher cleaning up spots.  I will order my groceries for tomorrow this afternoon.  Make sure things are straightened up.

 

Jim is coming sometime tomorrow and I told Liz about it.  I am not sure why I said anything but just to let her know.  He didn’t say he was going to see anyone but sleep and take off for home the next day but who knows.

 

It looks nice out.  The sun is out and it is supposedly 72 degrees out it feels a little more in the house.

I told my sister yesterday I didn’t want to share this lovely cold I got from my lovely vacation in Florida.  So she totally understood when I said “later”.  Her grandson Michael and his wife Ashley are celebrating 3 years as a newlyweds and family.  Everyone else seems to be doing okay.

I am expecting my brother to arrive on Saturday from ME.  He was driving a friend to the Appalachian Trail and I offered my place for a stop over.

Sadly my Cousin Rah’s life force is slowly draining and we don’t expect him to be with us much longer.  He was always a funny guy.

The kitties seemed to have forgiven my transgression last week by leaving them in the care of neighbors while I went to Florida.  Sky has been very snuggly at night and Tiger has stopped coughing up hairballs.  They enjoy the sunshine streaming in the sun room in the late afternoon.

I had my Eye doctor’s appointment yesterday and everything is looking good.  The cardiologist was earlier in the week and both are now in December.   Next month i have my infusion and a few other appointments

Tonight is the installation dinner for the Ladies Guild and I wasn’t sure I was gonna make it with this cold.  Hopefully my afternoon nap will have helped a bit.

Mid Week Reflection

It feels like a long time since I did this.  I couldn’t write last week as I was in Florida.  It has been 4 decades since I had been in Northern Florida and I was in Southern Florida for a week.  Again that whole story will be posted by the end of the weekend.

Work is pretty much the same as I posted last night.  Just catching up and getting a lot done before the weekend starts again.  Some changes coming should be interesting.

Oh and this month at work is really going to be busy as it is month end next week and FY End all month.  So I am guessing that there is a large push this week especially.

I am looking forward to the Ladies Guild installation dinner tomorrow night.  I will be the chairperson of the nominating committee.  Still do not know what that means actually except I am on the board.  Eventually we will have to merge with another church’s Ladies guild in town.  

As of this writing everyone in the family is still accounted for.   My brother will be stopping by from his trip to ME on Saturday.  He was bringing a friend to the Appalachian Trail.  He will head home the next day.  

I was supposed to see my sister today after the eye doctor but I don’t feel like giving this to her as her immune system is questionable as well.  Besides she has plans this weekend.

Back to Reality

I have been back to work two days now and have been very busy.  Guardian Angel did a pretty good job while I was away.  Just that now I got everything that she wasn’t able to get done.  She won’t be here the rest of the week so SuperBob wants me to focus on the mail.  That includes the readdress mail that is collecting under my desk.  As it is Wednesday is a half day for me.  The rest of the week will fly by.

 

We did get some news this week that RIS (also known as the Reimbursement department) is being restructure.  Two were laid off, the other ten will either come back into the bargaining unit (which gives them protection) or stay as they are.  Some will be moved into the current teams on AR.  They were doing double work that some of the follow up teams were doing.  It goes into effect July 10.  This doesn’t affect my job that I know of.

 

On Friday we will be having a Wedding shower for a co worker Lisa as she is getting married next month.  I gave my contribution and this should be fun.  I am not sure what the “gift will be but I am pretty sure the cake will be from the dining hall (and they make awesome cakes)

 

The weather is absolutely beautiful.  Yesterday started out beautiful and then turned into a thunder and lightening storm well until 8 or 9.  It startled the kitties a few times which surprised me.  It was a bit overcast this morning but mid morning it was gone and then sun came out and stayed out.  It's been warm for me.  I am not sure if it is because of the bug I have.

 

I went to the cardiologist yesterday for a follow up and for all intensive purposes the heart is fine but he would like it if 1) I would lose the weight and 2) because I have swelling in the legs (ankles mostly) to elevate them during the day and or wear the compression stockings (shaking head vehemently).  I saw the aggravation that Debbie had all week and that’s not something I want to go through.  I see him in December.  Let’s see if I can at least lose the weight.

 

AFter work I dropped my money off for the ticket for the Ladies Guild installation that is being held on Thursday this week at the Yacht Club in town.  Suzanne reminded me about the dinner and asked if I had gotten the ticket.  Ah no...I have busy.  So she said she would get Janet to leave a ticket for me.  I know how these dinners work. So I went to Janet's house and dropped the money off.

 

Other than that I have been taking it slow.  Did some laundry.   I even paid some bills last night which works pretty well as a couple of them cime due soon.  Been trying to get to bed early because I am still fighting a sore throat and a few sneezes and coughing.  I got some cough drops this afternoon.

 

I will be writing my adventures in Florida by the end of the  weekend.  Sadly it includes an update on cousin RAH. We are still on a death watch for him.  We have been told no more visitors will be able to come.  He is confused and in a little bit of pain

 

Just had a 30 minute phone session with Debra.  We talked about work, my vacation, family news, and health.  She thinks things are good with me right now.  Knock on wood I would have to say they are.  We will have a phone session as i have a scheduling conflict next thursday.  Then we won’t see each other until August.  We will be keeping in contact with emails and a couple of phone sessions.  

 

Finally to anyone who may have family members, friends, and or colleagues on the USS Fitzgerald you have my deepest sympathy and prayers at this very sad time.  I have been told that one of the sailors is from upstate Connecticut.

Just wanted to check in before

Good Morning everyone! In about 12 hours I will be on my way to Tamarac to visit my friends.  I got the trip information and all that goes with it around 8:30 last and because the computer was a tad slow it took me nearly 30 minutes to print it out (part of it was the checking in).  I was going to check my bags in but when I learned it was another $25.00 I said no way.   My sister says if it is too big then i will have to pay the $25 anyway.   I called DO up and sort of chewed him out.  I will get my return info the day before I come home.

I have a few errands to run including getting the stupid umbrella that I not only wanted but needed.  I kept putting it off and now I have to get it.  I will go to Marshalls and get one after I got to the bank.  

I am at that point that whatever else needs doing (making the beds, straightening up) is now not important than being ready for the trip.  The car will be here by 3:30 (I am guessing) as I seem to remember they came a tad earlier than the time I wanted them to come.  This should get me to the airport by 5 which leaves me two hours at least to get something to eat and relax.  Boarding is at 7:23 pm. Doors close at 7:43 and then 16 minutes whoosh into the sky.

To be honest I am not really moving that fast either.  The party I wrote about yesterday didn’t break up until 1 as i could still hear the music but not as loud as earlier in the day.  Those of us who didn’t go enjoyed the music from our perspective homes until it was time for me to go to bed.   I tried everything to get to sleep finally semi warm milk was the cincher.  

I nearly scared liz last night when I called her at 9.  I was calling her to check in with her before the trip (I am calling her today as well).  I just didn’t realize the time.  I told her I got my boarding pass and how I was enjoying the lovely entertainment.

Do you believe this?  I am heading to Florida to see friends I haven’t seen in awhile and I am whining because I had neighbors partying until the wee hours!!!! REALLY?  GAK.

One confirmation Down

Well I just received the confirmation for the car service about 20 minutes ago.  I am still waiting on the one for the airlines.  When I spoke with Liz she said it should be here already.  Well guess what it isn’t.  I have been checking since last night.  This is one of those moments that I am starting to think I should be getting all the emails and check them again.  I can’t have DO come because he is on his way to CA.  I did ask him a question regarding the tickets but he hasn’t answered yet.

Well the party started.  The music is fairly loud but not a huge problem.  I was talking with Neighbor Don and he asked me if I was going and I told him I might he said he wasn’t because there would be too many people there.  He also gave  me some info on the guy.  He apparently won a great deal of money to build the house.  He wasn’t the same guy I spoke with (must have been a housemate).  Uh oh the music is off! :0(  Someone may have said something.   And its back up again.

I just chatted with the 2 chris’s.  We talked about the party and I gave him some history.  They are not going to the party either as they have other plans.  He wasn’t thrilled with the music blaring into his shower though.  He also doesn’t like where the house is or the style.

I was talking to another friend who is getting the party on his side of the neighborhood and he is not happy.  He doesn’t like the house either.  This is going to be very interesting.  Oh did i mention they got a DJ?

The latest cat food delivery arrived earlier today.  I haven’t moved it from the couch yet.  I will put it in the back with the others.  I really could have sworn I changed the date on this but maybe I didn’t.  Actually I won’t get the next delivery until august.  I didn’t change the kibble/litter order yet but I don’t think I should.  I am out of the stuff for downstairs (litter not the kibble)  but not upstairs.  They should be okay.

I made some scrambled eggs for lunch.  It was delicious.  I didn’t want a whole lot anyway.  I may have it again at dinner time.

So what have I been up to?  As you can see not much.  When I talked with Liz she suggest that I get the sunscreen down there and just use the camera on my phone.  Whatever.  I want to have a good camera (aka the disposable) so that I don’t lose the pictures..  As for the notebook  i have a small one and that should be okay.  I do have crossword puzzles for the trip down and back.

Still a little straightening up here and there but I am taking my time.

Ended up

Because I wasn’t feeling well last Thursday night  and the lack of sleep from it I barely did anything Friday.  I did some laundry, cleaned out one of the litter boxes, emptied the dishwasher only to fill it up again.

 

I made myself an early lunch of steak and potato and had yogurt.  I was not anxious to eat too much as my shoulder still hurt. I think the aches and pains are from the amount of cheese I had in the last couple of days.  

 

I fell asleep for the afternoon watching the X Men double feature.   I did fold some of the clothes and sheets and put more laundry in.  You are probably wondering where all these clothes are coming from.  Some of them have been there a few days and needed refreshing.

 

When I didn’t fold the clothes I watched TV.  I actually sat through Hawaii 5-0 haven’t done that in months.  It's a good show.  It has done a few cross overs with the NCIS franchise (mostly the LA show) now there is some discussion prompted by articles that that H50 will do crossovers with MacGyver and or NCIS again.  Someone even suggested that all of them were in the same universe.  I don’t understand how that would be the case.

 

Speaking of NCIS there is an article from Deadline.com announcing that Jennifer Esposito will not be returning to NCIS next year.  I read the article but I still not getting the reasons behind it.  Quite frankly her character rubbed me the wrong way.  Not as much as it did to Nas on one of the boards  She doesn’t like the way the actress/character has her hair styled.

 

Oh and I had a family of foxes in the back yard yesterday morning around 9 a mother and her kits.  I took a lousy picture of the kits but that’s it.  They disappeared shortly after that for their den which is behind my yard.

 

I was in awe that Dr. T showed me a picture she took of a baby bear in her garbage the other day.  It was a beautiful bear but clearly it couldn’t have been alone.  So now she has to be careful with her pups and with the garbage that now stays inside the garage.

 

Today is now crunch time.  I have to go to the store and get a few things and get money out for my trip tomorrow.  I also have the housewarming party over on the next street.  It starts at noon. I have to still pick up stuff around here because I just don’t want to be a slob while I am not here.  

 

There is one thing that is beginning to get me a little nervous I am supposed to be getting tickets via an email and I haven’t gotten them yet.  I wanted Dave to come over and help print them out and make sure I got all the information but he couldn’t.

 

OMG someone is mowing their lawn at 20 of 8 in the morning and there is a noise whatever for woodmont..:O This is funny I was talking with Kim next door wondering if our other neighbor is planning on putting his family home on the market (it's been empty for quite some time now) and Kim is hoping that when or before it does they offer it to her because then her eldest daughter can move in.  There is enough room to have another house put in between the two houses which would be a tad crowded (at least i think).

 

The other house that went on the market is now off and being rented-again.  I don’t know to whom but I am with Kim when she expressed concerns of a fraternity house like atmosphere.  My own fear is a gang could move in and those images not so cool either.   I realize that’s an extreme idea but it could happen.  I mean really there are condos being built down the street from here and I never thought that could happen.

Thankful Thursday

1.            I am thankful for my family warts and all

2.            I am thankful for my kitties

3.            I am thankful for my job

4.            I am thankful for the Medical profession that keeps me on the road to good health

5.            I am thankful for my neighbors

6.            I am thankful for my home

7.            I am thankful for my friends

8.            I am thankful for the organizations I belong to.

9             I am thankful for the weather.

10.         I am thankful for the men and women who choose to protect and serve their country and their citizens even at the worst possible times.

 

Thursday was my last day at the office for the week.  THat means no opening mail, no sorting and redirecting, no refunds, and no scanning.  I am starting to get excited and anxious in so many ways.  Do I know who will be filling in for me?  No but i can assume it will be guardian angel.   I wish her luck

 

I have new neighbors on the next street.  I may have told you there was a new house being built and it looks beautiful  it has a blue roof and it looks almost like a Spanish style home.  Any way  the new residents were passing out invitations to an open house this weekend.  I don’t even know when they moved in but they are getting settled in.  I might stop by but I don’t know what to bring.

 

Thursday night was the official end to the Woman’s club that i have been a member of for 20 years.  The president announced to the small contingent that she had been looking for people to take over but couldn’t.  She explained the reasons that she was moving and looking for a job in FL.  The girls were stunned by the news except for one who found out a week earlier.  So for now the funds we currently have for the Langner scholarship will be active for a while.  THe rest will be split among suggestions to organizations throughout the city.

 

I had to miss the Ladies guild this past week because of the scholarship presentation on the same night at the HS.  I can’t miss the installation on the 22nd.  It will be held at the Yacht club here in town.

 

 

 

The DTC is still recuperating from the annual Awards night and probably post activities wrap up.  They still send out updates of activities and events happening around town and our next big fundraiser will be the Oyster fest in August.  Then we start preparations for the campaign season.  Our next meetings will be the end of the month.  We may be having a convention or something soon for new members.

 

I had a phone session with the health coach yesterday and we talked about what I could do during my vacation this coming week.  Not be too strict have some things that I shouldn’t normally and to check the menus before going out when we have dinners.

 

The weather reports are calling for some rain today and even thunder showers.   THe sky is starting to to cloud up but for later this weekend and even next week it is supposed become heatwave.
